This is what I think! I started my adverture at eletronic music making in Abelton and have something in mind: Just search for plug-ins if it's hard or not possible to do with stock plug-ins. Btw. It's been helping me to learn sound design, I can figure it out what each fx, config does to each sound, opening me paths to construct unique sounds

Great video! I've always thought Live's guitar effects were overlooked. An additional tip: you can place effects between the amp and cab to replicate the send/return feature of some amps, series/parallel/dry-wet/whatever. I like to place modulation and time-based things in there, and then do as you did with a room reverb but with M4L Convolution Reverb. Great for guitar, just alright for bass. However, you can make some cool bass rigs though by combining the bass amp/cab and a couple guitar amps/cabs all in parallel.

@@AndreaBedoya Very strange how paths cross don't you think, I clicked on this video expecting to create some digital guitars I can mess up to layer over some techno but realised it was not what I was thinking. Then I seen this guys comment about using the techniques on synths, so that got me. Then I noticed you saying check out my last techno samba preview...that got me more interested because I thought this person is thinking what I'm thinking. Then I find your live jams, fantastic. Where can I find more of your music, please? You got stuff out?

You took Ableton Guitar fx to the next level. Among guitar communities Ableton guitar effects are meh but now I can say you can get some pretty good sounds. Another of your unmatchable quality is you 'define' 'why'. That's not many do while making videos. I am coming from Studio One daw and completely newbie finding hard to understand Live's workflow. This move is because I just got Novation SL61 mk3 which is dawless version of Ableton and a dawless setup (with daw) suits my workflow. I also have few outboard synths that I can control using this keyboard. Hope to find more interesting videos on your channel. Keep going.

this sounds pretty good ! I don't know why I didn't even know there were cabinets in Live, I only tried the amps a few times and was disappointed lol. I'll have to try this, even if I'm still probably gonna spend 260$ on NI guitar rig 6 and 4000$ on a real guitar amp. But it's nice to have different tones, and also I guess the live racks are super cpu friendly

@mikul3122
@mikul3122 2 года назад
This video is fantastic, I just wanna throw in a list of the really base level effects going on. - tonal eq - saturation(soft-clipping)/distortion(hard-clipping/limiting) (managing input/output gain w these) - analogue emulation - compressor - reverb - surgical eq within mix - dynamic eq / multiband compression (responds to different bands based on how loud they get) - delay - managing/panning/delaying double tracks for authentic width - keep parallel processing and panning in mind with most/all these elements - manage your lufs loudness as you add these effects (match input with output), you don't want to just add something because it'll make it louder. You can always turn up the gain after the effect chain. imo these are the root elements of the tone (many of the plugins and amps being used are doing these base things behind the scenes). If you can master these than you can get incredibly precise and creative with your guitar tone. Of course, doing this takes a lot more time than the plugins you're using. And I would honestly use amps/effect-racks/blah if I'm trying to pump out mixes at a fast rate, but taking time with the true base elements and getting a good workflow with them can add a lot to your tracks.

This was tremendous - not in love with Ableton guitar sounds and as a good player with years of experience, this was incredible. Without these tips one would be far better off and I mean FAR with the Studio Devil plug in. So, cheers. **On my wish list and not really related to your video.... As I record so many guitars generally, I group them. I'm a scene-based guy. For quick and dirty volume control, the group channel slider is invaluable. UNTIL you play a different scene. Then you have to re-adjust. Surely there must be a simple way to code so that scene 1's channel volumes can be 'locked,' so that when you then listen and adjust scene five's volume, it doesn't screw up scene 1. Grouping guitars and then using the group slider is the best way to get a handle on overall volume, quick and dirty. If only the group slider could be made 'sticky!'

When I first watched it, I was disappointed to find out that the effect rack would not work for me. That's because I don't have Ableton suite. I have Ableton Standard. Many times, I have considered getting Ableton Suite. Right now, it's not in the budget though. I would really appreciate if you would put together a similar resource for those of us without Ableton Suite. There are still some general concepts here that are helpful though. Also, some of these affects are in Ableton Standard.
