Soooo yea... I got my bun from a pet store. But to be completely honest. My bun, Bailey, picked me. He was the only one that hopped over to greet me and gave me sweet kisses. My heart melted for him immediately and I knew he was meant for me. I love him so much. Now I’m getting a foster to hopefully bond with him. This time I am going through a rabbit rescue. 🥰😍😁
I’m going to start by saying I’m only 16 but I was forced to take care of 6 rabbits the were bought as Easter presents when I was 11. My stepmother had made me take care of them as the oldest sibling and gave me a list of instructions and rules for taking care of them but it was everything that I later found out was toxic care for them. Even at that young age, I took the time out of my day to research about these beautiful bunnies that were placed in my care. I started selling art at school and earning money on my own to try and help them but unfortunately, my stepmothers dog killed all 6 bunnies after she “forgot” to close their pin. I, right now at 16, have been given the chance to heal from that and other traumas that she had caused and my moms side of the family is helping me save money to get a rabbit again. I want to give my future bunny the best life possible now that I’m able to have it in a healthy environment. My past with trying to help rabbits is the reason I get so mad when I see people buying them as Easter presents and keeping them in cages, and I’m so happy that you are out here helping to inform people on proper rabbit care. I wish this kind of content could reach more beginner rabbit owners but I’m just so happy that influencers like you exist. Thank you so much
When I got my past rabbit it was because my best friend was moving away and they didn’t have space! He was my first pet (I was only 6 at the time and Barney (the rabbit) was already around 4 years old)! He was really shy and had a poor diet (muesli stuff🤮❌) so we took him to the vets and they informed us on a proper bun diet and that they needed they’re yearly boosters on his vaccines and stuff. Back then I didn’t have any technology in the house so I didn’t know about research, but I instinctively went in his playpen and laid in there with him! He soon got really close with me, and trusted me loads, I couldn’t have asked for a better friend in an animal! Unfortunately in summer 2019 he passed at the estimated age of 11 (may have been a bit older)! It’s been so hard without him, and I never ever thought he could have helped with so much! Miss you Barney 💖💞❤️ (and great informative video)!
My bunny adopted me and hasn't left my side ever since. She's been my constant companion for the last 6 years...sleeps under our flannel and velvet electric blanket. BunBun even turns up the heat on colder winter nights. We share a warm and cozy hutch.❤
I got my rabbit from a breeder. She is used to people and she is healthy. But as you also say, it must be a breeder who knows something about rabbit welfare. The one I bought my rabbit from was so kind to them. They come out in the running yard every day from morning to evening. I actually could not say anything that she did wrong. When we bought her we also had to sign a lot of paper, and we also got a pedigree. We also had to write what we could offer of home, and then she chose wich home was the best, and she was allowed to say no if she did not think it seemed like a good rabbit home. I think it is wrong that people say you should not buy your rabbit from a breeder, because there are actually breeders who think about rabbit welfare. We just have to get those breeders who do not think about the rabbits but only bunny stopped. Most of the rescue bunnies is from places that actually dont know anything about rabbit welfare but basicly think just think about the money. I love your videos, and keep that good work! Cinnabun is such a sweetie❤️
I agree with just about everything thing you said but rlly, nine times out of ten a rescue is doing the better job taking care of the rabbits so I would say that rescues don’t care.
In Switzerland it is illegal to buy just one rabbit, you have to have a pair. Rabbits should always be with a companion, they would live in big groups in the wild.
I love your channel, but I fully disagree with your stance on breeders. I dont see a point in supporting a breeder when so many rabbits are on lists to be euthanized. Also, I dont know about other countries, but in Canada pet stores adopt out rabbits for local rescues and shelters. You still have to go through the full adoption process, the pet store just helps with the process.

hi morgan! i would love a video about the pros and cons of having a single rabbit!! i've had my bun for almost 2 years and shes super happy but i wonder if i'm doing something wrong by not getting her a partner. since CB is also a solo bunny, i would love to hear your thoughts on this!!!
I doesn't really matter. If u have only one bunny u need to spend time with them and even if u get two bunnies they will have more company but u will still need to bond with them. No matter how many bunnies u have, u still need to bond with them
So i definitely understand not getting bunnies from pet sores or unethical breeders, but how are we supposed to save those poor bunnies. i know we shouldn’t support them, but how are we able to remove those bunnies from those terrible conditions without buying them?
I really wish bunny you tubers would make a video about convincing your parents to free roam your bunny INSIDE because my parents don’t want to and I really hate it when my rabbits live outside but I’ve tried everything ´ can to try to convince them but they just don’t want to because then they chew everything and my parents don’t think that bunny proofing will work
My Dad won't let my rabbit inside no matter the weather, no matter the circumstance. Apollo has never been inside before. It's impossible to change my Dad's mind, I've even made slideshows and he still won't. I'm trying to find a way to build a structure outside for Apollo to live in, like his own luxury house but it's going to be a year or 2 before I can really get that project off the ground. It's going to be really big and have 4 walls and everything so I can spend my time with Apollo as I want to and when it's going to have an outdoor area so be can run outside when I'm around.
k so maybe show them this coment?? i keep my bun inside but that was just soposed to be before we got the hutch! he literly uses a liter box i swear its shocking! also his pee dosnt smell barely at all cuz he is newtered! i keep him in my room and it just smells like hay! (use orchard grass if you are woried abt that smell!) it is actully possible and it is hard but better than a cat or dog in my opinion! my dad and mom were VERY against keeping my bun inside but now they are shocked that it uses a litter box and dosnt smell and they loveeeeee him! also my bun dosnt chew on anything wood just his toys, hay, and some woven baskets and stuff... and he is only 4 months old! i keep him in a large dog crate when i am not home or asleep or just cant watch him! also keep in mind im only 12, have 3 siblings, and keep him in my room and to me its totaly doable! if u have anymore questions plz ask! good luck! (this was very long sorry haha
@@heatherhill9713 I've already told my Dad all this. He is so against keeping animals inside he made me put his litter and hay in a container out in the yard because he doesn't even like animal products inside the house.
i adopted my baby bunny from a breeder localy and Luna was $40 and im so happy i bought her from a breeder, because she gave me a guide on how to properly look after her
I adopted my bun a year ago from our local humane society. I saw her and just knew she was the one! Thankfully I was right! Haha. She was 3 years old and although I wish I knew her full story and history, it feels good to know we rescued her and she had a good life now!
I got my rabbit from a shelter. He sadly passed away around a month and a half ago. I only had him for 3ish months. His name was Loaf! I’m currently looking for another rabbit through another shelter. Be careful if you buy from a shelter, and I recommend taking them to the vet.
Noticed on your Craigslist it said Raleigh, Charlotte. Where are you located? I live in Raleigh. Interested in a bunny and watching videos and appreciate reality of owning a bunny.need to know, but seemed discouraging to me when watching one very informative video but finished feeling like they were hard to care for and a lot of work and mess they make… Really drawn to them. Enjoying your information and Cinnabon.
i bought my bunny from a pet store and i wasn’t prepared for the big responsibility and i was doing everything wrong. growing up with old style parents they believe that bunnies belong in cages. it’s hard to convince them even with my bunny not wanting to leave her cage is hard. i want to give my bunny a good life and im scared to loose her.
So I've been doing a lot of research because my boyfriend and I are looking into adopting a rabbit from our local shelter. You're page has been sooo helpful in my research! So I have a question, I want to to eventually have a free roam bunny, should I buy a cage and a pen, or just a pen? Should I get a hut or bed for the pen too?
Uhm I got mine from a pet store it wasn't in a cage but I got her there but i didn't get anything from a pet store i got food and other things from other places and shes a free Rome bunny
THANKYOU on the bunny breeder tips! Me and my sister are getting into bunny breeding and have 2 current bunnies! When they are ready to breed we will start making contracts and things for selling them! Both buns are currently in cages (that are 3 hope long) but we are looking into bringing them into the house, (we generally have a small house with no space and a big family thats louder so I think right now for awhile they are better off in the barn! But we haven’t had them a month yet and I’m still looking at Amazon indoor bunny cages so I can put my bunny in a cage for the night, when I bring her inside!
My rabbits come from an auction. I wanted rabbits all my life but my parents said "no", well in 2018 my mom told me that her and my dad were talking and agreed to let me have my rabbits and I was SO excited! I did over 50 hours of research within 3 days and I asked mom if we're going to adopt from a shelter and she said "I don't know" well she called one of her brothers and that weekened he wentto the auction and got Thumper (my REW) and Blossom (his sister, same litter). My mom often tells me that I saved their lives because people around here go to the auction to get rabbits to basically train their dogs to hunt.
Morgan!!! You did it again! 🙌🏼 Thank you so so much for breaking this down and laying out the pros and cons of both options. At the end of the day, supporting ethical treatment of bunnies is crucial! Appreciate all the knowledge you share ♥️
i adopted my rabbit from a shelter and she has brought me so much joy and happiness. i know she’s a 10+ year commitment but i’m all in for it! i got her because my moms friend owns rabbits and she found this beautiful blue lilac rex ho needed a home. i started researching rabbits and i wanted to have him. unfortunately she gave him away so i just looked at shelters!
My little dude hopped out into traffic in front of us one day and we caught him. We did research while looking for owners. No one claimed him so he stayed with us. Not at all in the plans for life 😂. But now, I'm thinking after he gets neutered in going to see if there's a place that will help me bond him to a friend that needs adoption. And much as I would like to pick one, I think I'll just see either who really needs a home or who my bunny even gets along with. Who knows what kind of awesome duo I'll wind up with.
What I think is important to add to your points is that it is very important to really think about if you have the time to care for a bunny. Bunnys can get distressed in less then 12 hours when being hold alone, they can start to fear for their life because they are prey animals and in general bunnys are very social animals who live in groups where they groom and comfort each other and if this possibility is not given they could develop behavior disorders. It is thus very important to think about getting 2 bunnys. For proof that I am not making this up and that bunnys really need a companion here's an example from where I live. In Germany it is forbidden by law to only have one bunny because socially living animals (and rabbits undeniably belong to this) have the need to live with conspecifics so this is legally granted to them by our "Tierschutzgesetz" (animal welfare act) (§2 Paragraph 1). So please also consider this when thinking about getting a bunny
I found my sweet bun in my yard. I believe my neighbor got them her for her kids for easter and let her out and I found her in October. 💜💜 Thank you for this video. It's very informative
@@nxrasedits7630 on this channel, we don't support support bunnies living in cages. Instead, you can check out my free roaming video where i share some tips on exercise pens and set ups! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qUDvDWfst8I.html
@@nxrasedits7630 You can absolutely have a rabbit in a cage, just make sure they still get lots of exercise! I suggest Tractor Supply or your local farm store. --From a 10-year rabbit breeder, shower, and raiser.
@@SincerelyCinnabun Hello, I was considering adopting two bunnies for the first time from an adoption center. I have heard you don't support bunnies living in cages and was wondering if that extends to hutches as well (I was considering a two story hutch with a side open pen they can play in). This hutch would be considered their sleeping/resting area as I have plans for them to be in a playpen or openly roaming if it suits their needs more. Here is a link to Amazon which gives you an idea of what the hutch would look like www.amazon.com.au/Rabbit-Wooden-Chicken-Guinea-Ferret/dp/B0778XZWW7/ref=sr_1_9?crid=3RQZOKNXG6I25&dchild=1&keywords=rabbit+hutch+indoor+for+2+rabbits&qid=1627477145&sprefix=rabbit+hutch+in%2Caps%2C324&sr=8-9 Please let me know if the hutch or hutches in general are good for rabbits Thank you Opie Lois
My bf and I adopted a bunny from the local shelter (we live in Denmark). We don't know much about her, as she was found outside hopping. She has an earmark, but nobody looked for her so we think she was abandoned 😟 I don't know about other shelters around, but it was not cheap to adopt her. Pure adoption is $186, but she was vaccinated, checked and spayed as well 😊
I got my bunny from a flemish giant rabbit breeder. And the breeder told us what to do and what not to do in case we didn't do research (I did do research, but it just shows that the breeder know about bunnies) she also did not keep them in a cage which is really nice. I personally am perfectly fine with buying your pet from a breeder, or adopting. I just don't support the non professional breeders, 8f that makes sense. I tell this to a lot of people and then they would normally start an argument cause they don't understand what I'm saying
i got a bunny yesterday!!! i got him at the spca versus a breeder and he was newtered and microchiped! i literly got him just in time for this vid sieries to start!! i loveeeee my new baby and his name is pekoe! oh and also to anyone reading this KEEPING A BUNNY INSIDE IS POSSIBLE JUST GET A NEWTURED ONE THEN THE PEE DOSNT SMELL! anyway thanks sooooooo much 4 making these vids!!
I got my bunny Peanut from nearby street in monsoon season. He was in a cardboard box peeking out from a small hole. I don't from where he came as our society does not allow pets. I still remember he was shivering when i picked him up. Unfortunately he was with me for 3 days. My parents were not allowing me to adopt him. They called the rescue and they took him from me. Now i am going to move out from my parents house to university hostel. They have assured me that i am allowed to have pet as long as it will be in my room. I am so excited to adopt one. 😊😊
This really helps! I hope I get a partner for my young adult bunny Snicker’s. I am DYING and I mean 👏🏻DY👏🏻ING👏🏻to get him a partner, I was thinking of a girl but then I could maybe not get her fixed in time and bleed to death from periods. Yes, rabbits can have periods. Only females though! I hope people that are reading this is having an amazing summer! I am on vacation and it’s great. I also wanted to cover that I have to make sure it is okay with my family living inside there home. I am hopefully getting one in 2022 sometime in that year. I got my male young adult Mini Lop rabbit fixed during COVID 19. Social distancing, masks everywhere, just getting to see family with/without masks etc. If you are reading this CB I love how cute you are! Keep on happy hoppin’ or should I say hoppy hoppin’ ✨😆 And also keep on zoomin’! Keep doing your thing with your amazing owner! Love you CB❤️ and your videos. Don’t forget to tell your owner that I love her and her videos. So good!!❤️
The only rabbit that have been available around where I live are the animal shelter, this psycho foster program and breeders. My preference is the aninal humane society. They make sure the animal isn't sick or has unknown health issues before selling. The problem has been they only ever has older mystery animals. Call me names all you want but I don’t want to buy a 6 year old English lop for example. One that's a very old bunny for that breed, 2 they have their own baggage and three, the emotional price for a financial investment like this is too high. I cannot buy a animal that might be dead of old age in a year that's not fair. Sometimes babies and young bunnies show up, but I don’t camp in front of the door so for the last year I've missed out. The foster people are not options. They're too invasive. They're too expensive. And they are too defensive. It shouldn't be a week long epic to just get a chance to see the animal. Another week to finally buy it is madness. I cannot be the only one pissed with these hoarders. The stock has barely changed over a year. I think two rabbits have been adopted from their society. That's 40ish rabbits spread out among fosters that have not. Lastly are the breeders. They have three downsides, distances, price and potential hidden defects. They are way more expensive upfront and that sucks. The sketchy ones also make sick buns. But I at least know more about a rabbit and it's baggage. It's aggravating. All the available rabbits around here are either old and the family didn't want to deal with it. Being gatekept by freaks or a morale and financial dilemma. Ideally, young bun from shelter first. Young bun from reputable breeder second.
New subbie! I got my bunnies via our local animal shelter, I was going to get a pair from a breeder but after research, I decided to adopt, best decision ever, my fur babies are so precious, they have made my life even more happier 🥰
Hi, I cannot find a breeder or adoption center here where I live, so I sadly have to go to a pet store, but this store has over 400 reviews and all over 4.5 stars ! I'm currently BEGGING my parents to get me a bunny, i have already done some searching for a place to keep them, and came across a 42*28 inches open roof cage, will it be enough for 2 bunnies or should I look for a bigger one?
5:24 i’m actually looking now to get one soon, i just had a quick question but, how come we wouldn’t want to say the pets that’s being squished together in cages and treated wrong. i’m just asking so pls don’t take me wrong! Obviously they shouldn’t be treated that way! Im 16 and looking to become a small animal vet, so why not save the bunnies from those places?
My first 2 buns as a kid were acquired differently. One was from an animal charity and the other from a local person who rescued them. As an adult my two buns were bought from a pet store but they are absolutely given the best environment. Following some gi stasis, one had to be put to sleep. My next bun is from a reputable breeder where a few generations of the family are available to see.
Thank u so much for this video‼I was fascinating if getting a bunny from a (ethical) breeder is okay and I finally know it 😊 I dont have a bunny, but im planning to get one and firstly I have to know how to take care of them of course, so I litteraly watch everything about them 😭💙
Hi there! I haven’t yet completed the full video but I just wanted to say something that got me thinking. You say that we shouldn’t give our money to pet stores and breeders who don’t treat their bunnies right .. but isn’t that why WE SHOULD cos otherwise the bunnies are suffering in their care? I think we should :)) love your content tho !! 💕
I live in a two story house my room is upstairs and I wanna get a bunny , and keep it's area in my room. Should I allow it to roam around the entire house? I don't want it getting into anything in a room that is not bunny proof.
The topic on ethical breeders and unethical breeders is SO blurred in the dog world too. So many people are against buying from breeders because they have this stigma that all breeders are bad when that is so far form the truth. Ethical breeders will literally have you sign contracts saying that you must return the dog back to them if you do not want them anymore or you can't breed them. Adopting a dog is good yes but at the same time they are not like rabbits, they are not always friendly and docile and lot of them come with hidden traumas that require expensive training and vet visits. Adopting a dog takes just as much preparation as buying from a eitherical breeder. Also sorry to say his but your whole rant about money for breeders is stupid. You aren't paying for a "pure bred" bunny you're paying for a bunny that has had the best care and best health checks. You're paying for the time, patience and money spent on that bunny to get into your care. So yeah...people who aren't into breeding and don't know how much work actually goes into creating healthy, long living pets usually are arrogant about that little knowledge...
I got thumper from a pet store. His friend had been adopted like 6 months earlier and he was in a tiny cage. I felt so bad for him or her I’m not sure which. They couldn’t give me any information on him though or his age. While he is a young bunny he isn’t a baby. This is my first bunny so I’m learning as I go. While he will let me hold him and will lay with me for a while. I have to catch him first which I didn’t know I wasn’t suppose to do until today. He has full access to my house though except at night but I let him go back into his home by himself. Any other tips would be soo appreciated!!
so, I heard that if bunnies get really scared the die. I really want a bunny but i have a dog and she is crazy. I would have the bunny in my room with the door shut. But my dog is a chihuahua and I'm scared that my bunny will get really scared and die. The same thing for fourth of July my street goes all out for fourth of July. What do you think?
You never know the medical needs of a rescue animal. It can be pregnant, have bad teeth, and I doubt that a shelter do a vet exam. I don't want to bring a bunny home that dies after a week.
My ex-bestie was an unethical breeder i literally new more about rabbits and she 1 has had like 50 litters and had bunnies 4 years and thought she new so much yet she literally gave her bunnies tiny 🍑 cages and bad diets and wire cages and she told ppl that that was the wright care and that stuff like that smh
when I was googling where to get a rabbit and it put a map and said "near you"and if we actually get a rabbit it will get the whole house exept the bedroom when my mom is working but only gets free rhomes on morning or when she is done work:]
I literally can’t find any adoption places in my area and all the breeders i find have the bunnies outside in huts and in wire bottom cages. On top if that i have to provide completely for the bunny because my mom hates any animal that isn’t a fish.
Ok can we talk about the intro 🥰🐇soo cute!! Also this is such perfect 👌🏼 timing thank you 😊!! I am adopting a bunny 🐰 this month and was wondering what I should do when I take it home the first day 🤗
I’m getting a lionlop bunny from a local breeder we have been before and the bunnies are all in separate exercise pens and some are running around in the garden and they use bowls instead of the bottles is that a good breeder I need your advice cause if they aren’t I don’t want to support them
i just found the cutest bunny ever their mom gave birth to 10 and they are way to cute and I too inpatient to wait until summer ends because I'm getting a bunny after summer but that way to long I can't wait two more months
Confused a little on 4:33 because there’s an entire video on how you got her from a bad breeder and the document was completely wrong and the breeder didn’t care where the rabbits went ?
I get the not supporting those kinds of breeders but why would just leave them in that kind of environment same thing with the pet stores if there so bad why leave them there idk if thats just me but that’s something i just don’t understand
We have no rescues or breeders (ethical or unethical) near us, so our only choice is a pet store, but the one that does have bunnies takes wonderful care of them and their in big cages
Breeders and rescuing is the same thing in my opinion because your rescuing them either way not necessarily because rabbits are in a bad home it's because the rangers and the breeders have take care of a lot more rabbits so going to a rescuer or a breeder you save them either way
what haw should i feed my bunny you said that under six months you feed it alfalfa hay but over six months you did not say so get back to me as soon as you can.
I breed rabbits and for us to sell A rabbit to a pet home they have to sign a contract that if they no longer want the rabbit or can handle it they have to give it back to us
Just wanted to say thanks for this series! I adopted a beautiful 11-month old Netherland Dwarf and your videos were very helpful with my adoption process.
Thank you for doing this video!!! I feel like a lot of people have been lead to believe that if you don't adopt, you're a bad person, when really there are some very good breeders out there. Especially for people new to bunnies, getting one from a responsible breeder can be much better than adopting, which I realized after going to my nearest rabbit rescue. A lot of them had behavioral issues from being neglected, and if you weren't experienced it could be hard to get them to trust you and be the perfect little bunny, not to mention the expensive health issues several had. If you can find the perfect bunny for you, adopt for sure, but it's not always the best move. I'll definitely be quoting you on the part about how the most important thing is that you provide proper rabbit care, I'm so tired of being judged because I got my bunny from a bad breeder when I was inexperienced and uneducated 😩
