In this video I show you how to get a real anamorphic look without an anamorphic lens. It's not very practical so this is just for fun, but you get a "real" anamorphic look.

This is a good tool for those who lack gear (fast or wide lenses, bigger sensors). You could also affix a larger format lens with one of those shift adapters and have the body move around so you have consistent parallax. This is more Bokerama Brezinger than Anamorphic in aesthetics though, but using the method above you use use adapted full frame anamorphics on m43 or s35 and stitch shots to make full use of the bigger image circle.

Great way to understand anamorphic. What we have to keep in mind is that height have two times width focal lens when its desqueezed.

That depends on the squeeze factor so it doesn’t necessarily have to be 2x. It can be more or less, as long as it’s at least 1.1x or higher, it’ll be anamorphic. The shot I faked in this video for example is beyond 2x

Which spec MacBook Pro do you recommend for 4k - 5.6k editing ? How much ram and which cpu (m2 pro or m2 max) how many gpu cores and display size you recommend? I use the with Sony a7s iii and Fx3 cameras. I use adobe premiere and after effects

Nothing about this was anamorphic 😆 Anamorphic doesn't just mean "black bars"... that depends on the aspect ratio. A spherical project can still have "black bars". If you go watch an anamorphic film in a movie theatre there are no black bars because of the big screen. Anamorphic lenses have anamorphic characteristics such as barrel distortion, vertical flares, desqueezing and are generally softer. We gotta stop shoveling this endless misinformed "content" out into the universe

That’s not what this video was about? No black bars were added. I literally desqeezed the shot in the video. The footage is actually more “anamorphic” than any anamorphic lens ever made, far beyond a 2x.

Your fucking trolling, anamorphic lets you get more info into an image. That’s all, it’s got nothing to do with lens flares or distortion. Even though that comes with lenses. It’s morphing the image to be wider. You’re 100% wrong on your statement about this video. The o my time he showed black bars was to say that you can add black bars but it’s the fake way to do it and it’s an easy to do thing. Calm down my guy. You’re on a roll that’s rolling the wrong way….
