this is really helpful, i'm so happy someone made a descriptive video about this. thank you💜 i do have a question though. i'm looking into university courses and programs, and the only thing i see that corresponds to teaching or english is a program called "international studies". in this program there is a "sub-program" called "teaching english in global contexts". as straight forward as it sounds, i'm not 100% sure if it would be a great program to take. i know you state in the video that as long as you have a bachelor's degree, it's okay; i just want to make sure it would be a great program for teaching english in south korea. i know you may not know the answer, and don't stress if you don't it's okay. i just thought i'd ask since it's a question i've been trying to get someone to answer for a while. but anyway, thank you so much for all the information💜
crystal interesting that there’s no English major since that’s usually a standard program, but this sounds pretty good as well. I’d maybe get more information on exactly what this program covers and then make the judgement if it’s what you’re looking for. But yes, really any program should be fine, just do what interests you! If you really want an edge for getting a English teaching job abroad, you can look into a TEFL/TESOL certificate either during your breaks or after you graduate (it’s pretty quick to get). I hope this helped in some way, good luck!
Yes girl! Get that job and career! This will definitely be a new experience. The bad and good, you’ll still be able to talk about this in the future! Good luck, stay healthy, and stay safe!
I'm so happy you've made this video! I really want to look into this sort of career, this was so helpful, and you're so lovely! I read your Wattpad books, they're all so great, I hope you do well in your career xxx
fjdjdnfjkn ahh I love China and hope to visit it again soon. That would be a great place to teach and knowing the language already would be a totally help for your experience living there!
Shapel -SM I was debating between teaching in Korea or Japan. I think I may teach in Japan after my year in Korea. I love the culture there too, good choice!
Found this absolutely helpful, thank you! Just wanted to ask, did you do the TEFL course before university, after university or the same time? Thank you x
Sanaa Shah I’m glad it helped. I did it right after university but you could totally do it during depending on your workload or during summer/winter breaks!
