I just realized why you need 999 coins to evolve this thing into Gholdengo. The national Dex number of Gimmighoul is 999, and Gholdengo is number 1000. A fun way of celebrating 1000 pokemon designs.

There is an npc in Medili that will give you a random amount of coins everyday. So unless you are rushing this guy, that could cut a couple of chests out of your grind

Here I was doing my casual team planning before I start the game like I always do, and I looked at Gholdengo stats and movepool and thought "wow this thing is actually pretty good for a playthrough. Two pro tips: 1) You can climb watch tower ladders faster by holding B 2) Get this guy first if you're trying to fill your Pokédex. I found so many rare random encounters along the way that I'd grinded out by evolving things earlier. It would have saved a lot of time if I'd done this first and caught things along the way

From what I've done, its random amount of coins rewarded if you capture the chest form Gimmighoul. They all range between 50-70 coins. The lighthouse tower with the 3 of them, there is some ruines located not too far from it. The chest ghoul gave me 70 coins for capture.

Have I mentioned how much I love new Pokemon game season, cause I LOVE NEW POKEMON GAME SEASON. Austin really out here being the MVP of the Poketuber community and it's honestly inspiring. I genuinely love the lore and inspiration behind it. It's a cleverly made pokemon inspired by what El Dorado originally was being a man made of gold before it eventually got adapted into a city. Hopefully there might be a reference or two in potential DLC surrounding Spanirads and Conquistadors travelling to different locations and the search of El Dorado.

It get's even better when you know it outspeed former an favourite, Chandelure _and_ Good as Gold also prevents stat lowering via opponents moves. That's basically a _built in Clear Body_ to boot. Thanks Gamefreak , guess this is Our payback for the awful Sword n Shield! 😁

15:40 You can make pokeball drops respawn. You just have to save, close your game, and go forward a day. This is most helpful in the desert since it usually spawns money drops

Another interesting thing about Gholdengo is that the ability prevents Defog from going off(at least on showdown, not sure if this is a bug) and being ghost you can't rapid spin on it. There is a new move that can remove hazards that it is also immune to. Making this mon the perfect hazard removal disruptor.

For the tricky jump at 6:28, you can instead just fall down from above by sliding. Simply stand on the upper level of the tower on foot (do not sit on your ride pokemon!) and then just walk towards the hole with the ladder in it and press B to do the little slide animation that your character does when entering stealth mode. Might take a couple tries, but it is not hard to slide through the hole that way and land on the lower level (you need to slide, because the game stops you at the ledge or makes you start climbing down the ladder otherwise).

Gholdengo is a really cool Pokemon. So far he's the only one I've found that can somewhat keep up with Miraidon/Koraidon at full speed! Ironic being that Gimighoul chest form is said to not even be able to move. I called mine Radighoul!

Gimmighoul is the 2nd slowest pokemon with a speed bst of only 10. It's a 3 way tie between Munchlax, Pyukkumuku, and Shuckle for 1st with a bst of 5. So...yeah it checks out lol.

@@indianawesomeness to give you an idea, I have gotten the level 5 chest of Gimmighoul only twice once when I 1st turned the game on Nov 23rd. The next time I've seen it spawn was yesterday December 11th so I'm trying to find a connection if there even is one I also Time Skip sometimes to force Mass Outbreaks and that only gets the roaming ones to come back
