I think Greavard could theoretically be reborn from any dog-like Pokémon, not necessarily a single species. There's a book in the academy's entrance hall that talks about Ryme, and how her "Puppy Pokémon" (a category shared by a number of Pokémon) came back to her as a ghost type after she wrote a song in his memory. Sure enough, she has a Greavard named DJ G-Rave who she won't send into battle.
DJ G-Rave must be the Greavard vibing on top of that huge speaker during the gym battle when all the Houndstone popped out of the ground. I have no proof, but I have no doubts either.
I took greavard's dex entry to be more open ended and apply to all dog Pokemon. If a herdier dies without human contact it becomes a greavard, rockruff dies it becomes greavard, tamper becomes greavard, etc
The Secret Terrestrial Pokémon is also mentioned in the Violet/Scarlett book in the entrance hall at the school. It's not named there either, but it is described with glitchy text and I'm pretty sure based on the context clues that it is called "The Disk Pokémon"
Yeah the professors description of the Pokémon is similar to scarlets books description and we get a rough idea of what it could look like as both professor and the author of the books encountered them in area zero
@@jaidenkoch3487 Well, Professor Heath *is* the Author of the Book, and 'The Disk Pokémon' depicted within was sketched from a Dream he had while injured and unconscious, after being separated from the rest of the Expedition Team. The Sketch depicts a creature known as *a Tarrasque,* an infamous Boss Monster _in D&D Circles,_ with Real-World Origins in *the Folklore of Southern France* - right between the In-game _Kalos and Paldea Regions!_
I came to coment this, there's also a sketch of it that I'm surprised wasn't included in this video! We know so far it's a disk pokemon, has a shell with hexagons and has six letters in its name!
Yeah I came to say this too. The hexagon plate Pokémon. The picture looks like a bit like a turtle. The entry in the book says: “While separated from the research team in the creator’s depths, I found a strange…entity. Weather it was a Pokémon, or even alive at all, I know not. It bore a shell with layers of overlapping hexagons, and gleamed brighter than gemstone. Viewed as a whole, it resembled a mysterious, brilliant disk.”
@@lianaverwood9810 ....roll for initiative. Jokes aside, I'm VERY afraid now to go to the north east of the map, since Iron Treads/Great Tusk managed to escape Area Zero and ended up in the desert. Our lovely tarrasque might be on that unclimbable mountain >.>
I fully expect the secrets of Area Zero and the Pokemon responsible for Terralistiztion to be the focus of Scarlet and Violet's eventual DLC. There's a ton of things we just don't know about Area Zero, such as why it feels like a completely different world.
I staring to wonder if there will be two parts to the DLC, like there were for Sword & Shield. A more laid back one releasing in the summer, set the grayed-out area to the northeast, and a more plot-heavy one in the winter focusing on Area Zero
@@AceRide Yeah, one with all the story the third legendary and all and one with Kalos. (I want see Red once again, but Calem or Serena would be cool too. Like Calem is champion now and Serena owns probably Zygarde. Probably we will get the story with Pokemon Z and when I say Pokemon Z I don't care about Zygarde, I want the Lumiose Girl and the writing on the backside on the train station. Also some cool plot twist would be nice. Like professor platan is the father of Florian and Juliana. Or Calem and Serena are. Or MissingNo will come back. I'm pretty sure my hopes are too big, but at least something would be nice. I mean they did it with Kanto in Gen 2. A whole postgame second region.
Right! My main question is what happens in the future that causes pokemon to be purely mechanical? And seemingly man made? I’m loving this darker pokemon and i hope it gets darker
Rotom loses its Ghost type when it enters an appliance. I think Varoom could be a Gastly possessing the engine as they are also everywhere here in Paldea.
Yeah, it's curious how a living Poison-type Pokemon could somehow inhabit an inanimate object and possess it. But a Ghost-type that's also Poison? Gastly.
I would LOVE more paradox forms. In particular, I’m holding out hope for some love to Tropius. Would love to see maybe an ancient form grass/dragon type!
Be awesome to see all the Fossil pokemon become their Pure form, no longer having the rock typing or be a mixture of to Fossil pokemon like Dracovish and Dracozolt.
@@Ju5t4l1z4rd maybe the rock type was already their pure form the entire time, they are ancient from a time were there was no steel and humans were much less developed if they existed at all, the rock type just screams "old things" for them and that may be it, aerodactyl did get an mega form and it was still a rock type after all but it would be awesome if it happned. Megas are based on how the pokemon looked in the distant past when they were more wild and feral and had to battle to survive all the time, to the point that the paradox past salamance is based on his mega evolution, it would be awesome if by some means in a dlc we get to see more paradox pokemons who are based on pokemons who may mega evolve or they bring back megas for the dlc all together (maybe by equiping the mega stone the pokemon will use the energy to mega evolve instead of terastalizing and tha is how they limit them to balance the game.
i think in the scarlet/violet book there is a picture of what could be the pokemon that Hoops mentioned first. it makes me believe that the DLC could contain MAJOR adventure in the crater.
According to Bulbapedia, there are also sketches of Pokémon who look like they might be new Paradox additions to the Legendary Beasts & Swords of Justice
@@AceRide The game says the artist of the scarlet/violet book was inspired by the future/ancient Pokemon and decided to sketch their own one. The sketches aren't real Pokemon just the artist making a sketch for fun.
@SB619 Paradox Suicune and Virison will be in the DLC because in the game when the Data Miners data mined it the codes for them are in just that they are replaced with Pikachu I guarantee next year we will most likely be able to catch them along with the 3rd Legendary Pokemon.
Based off what we saw in PLA, Quaxly’s third stage is most likely the regional variant to its original region. Perhaps a another type based off the dancing traditions of its origin.
@@hashem1990rko me personally i havent had the glitched i see people sayjng they have (i think half of em are just tryna break the game so they can complain) but i do get the frame rate drops which GF should be able to patch

2:36 it is possible that the name is actually 12 characters long. In the violet book it has a page on this mysterious pokemon and each square on the page covers two letters. For those looking for the book it's in the school lobby in the pillar bookshelf on the right
There was even one instance that had three letters for a single block. I can't think of the exact point but I definitely remember noticing the difference. TPC definitely made it hard for us to guess anything though.

I think Terasq would be a good fit for the Terastalizing Pokemon, based on the Tarrasque, a dragon from myth and one of the most legendary monsters in D&D, often depucted with an indestructible hide/shell. It would be an amazing legendary, especially with the proximity France has to Spain/Portugal.
I do wonder if it has anything to do with that strange pokemon, disc(sphere?) thing mentioned in the Scarlet/Violet Books in the Academy entrance hall, as that is the only page with redacted (or smudged) text outside of the book found in that one way station... :/
The third legendary which is the origin of the terastal phenomenon is supposed to be a Faberge Egg like being. This might actually just be it's dormant state since most of the third legendaries or trio masters that Pokemon have revealed in the past few generations have had a second form that's not initially revealed to us. Like complete Zygarde, ultra Necrozma, eternamax Eternatus etc. So this particular Pokemon could be an egg that hatches or transforms into something else at full power.
Speaking of Zygarde, anyone else notice that Kalos and Paldea are connected and Zygarde is composed of Organic Hexagons while this Terrastral pokemon is composed of Crystal Hexagons?
@@CoachCarter94 I'm thinking there's gonna be another form that we haven't yet seen. It's also interesting how Terapagos looks like the map of paldea. So this could potentially be one of the if not the largest Pokemon we've ever seen.
Another secret Pokémon mentioned would be the Pterosaur that supposedly died to become Flutter Mane in ancient times. Can't wait to see the fanart people make!
SPOILER the pterosaur never existed, the paradox pokemon are all rumors from tabloid magazines and the professors imagination that came to life by the disk pokemon
It could be the brother/sister to Zygarde, Kalos and Paldea are connected in the North Eastern Corner and when they dsicribe the hexagons the first thing I thought was that Zygarde is composed of Organic Hexagons while this pokemon seems to be made of Crystal Hexagons, to me it screams connection especially with how close the two regions are and how far underground Zygarde is found in X and Y.
@@TheTetsuHai could be diancie as well, it's basically made of crystals and I'm pretty sure it has a mega evolution as well in which it grows more crystals. I'd like to see an in-depth conspiracy into all of the likely candidates of this.
What's far more interesting to me, personally, is the strange origins of the "original" paradox Pokemon. The professor's time machine is said to be the source of them leading into the end game, but we know fairly earlier that the original exploration team sent to Area Zero encountered them as well... 190 years prior to the professor's excursion.
The first Terastal related Pokemon is actually hinted further in a copy of the Scarlet / Violet book seen in the Main Hall of the academy, stuck in a bookshelf. It's one of the last pages, the one with all the blanks in it. There's also a hint to a potential fusion of the Legendary Beasts!
I feel like the Varoom one is maybe a Ghastly or Gengar? It says a poison type possessed it. To me a ghost type would easily do that. And Gengar is Poison Ghost
I could totally see Quaxley being the starter for another legends style game down the line, and maybe unlike the legends arceus starters Quaxley would actually originate from the region this game is set in
Glimmora’s relationship to terrastalizing is a lead for that Sada/Turo diary entry-the Violet dex suggests that they are related, it’s eyes are the ones on the tera jewels, it’s Geeta’s signature Pokémon, it’s found in Area Zero, and it matches the description. Whether or not it’s Glimmora itself, or just related to it, idk.
Glimmora could fit (though not 6 letters) for the origin of terastilizing. Per violet pokedex: "Glimmora's petals are made of crystallized poison energy. It has recently become evident that these petals resemble Tera Jewels."
I thought the secret tera Pokémon was just Glimmora because of the “hexagonal shell” & they are also used to get the TM for Tera blast… Maybe the secret legendary is a paradox form? Or variant like Diancie is to Carbink? 🤷
I think Quaxly line is the standard form in the region it came from. Quaquaval seems to be inspired by "Carnaval". Also, Skeledirge seems to be inspired by Día de los Muertos. I think Meowscarada might be inspired by some holiday, but I have no idea which one, probably from either Iberian Peninsula or from another colony.
It's most definitely not what it is but the only thing i can think of that ties to Meowscarada is masked festivals? I know that's a thing in some places that used to be spanish colonies because i live in one and we have a festival like that. Of course i dont think it's what that is but it does match the asthetic of Meowscarada pretty well.
Could also be an India inspired region because Quaquaval has peacock inspirations too. Which would also make sense because royalty brought over peacocks to Spain...and now there is a few areas that still have peacocks after generations.
2:46 that's not totally true, in the glimmora dex in pokemon violet says "it's petals are made of crystallized poison energy, it has recently became evident that it's petals resembe tera crystals" i think that this secret pokemon may be the mysterious pokemon in the last page of the scarlet/violet book, and just like koraidon/miraidon is some kind of paradox Cyclizar, it may be a paradox glimmora
For Greavard, it's evolution, Houndstone in the violet pokedex also says this "A lovingly mourned Pokémon was reborn as Houndstone. It doesn't like anyone touching the protuberance atop its head."
I will also point out that in the postgame Arven questline, you gain access to the Scarlet or Violet Book, and in it-specifically pointed out in the cutscene where you gain access to the book in fact-is another entry that appears to be about the first ‘mon you mentioned. Similar blocks of redacted text, though of seemingly random letters in the text, not the name itself as the author of the book makes no attempt to name it, accompanying an illustration of some kind of disk covered in hexagonal tiles with a decoration that could be interpreted as a tera crown.
I thought for sure there would be mention of the unknown, monstrous pokemon that messed Arven's Mabosstiff. While it can be assumed that it was a paradox pokemon given the location, there is no explanation of which one it may have been (if any of them).
@@Klonoahedgehog Arven mentioned that it was like nothing he'd ever encountered and barely looked like a pokemon. He doesn't like the box legends for "other reasons" which are revealed later, but it sounds like he could be describing an Ultra Beast (or more likely, some unknown paradox pokemon).
@@TheEphemeralEternity The characters do describe the paradox Pokemon as being very odd questioning if they even are Pokemon so it's probably just one of them.
@@sb6196 that's what I thought to, but I find it just as odd then that we never confront whatever attacked Arven and Mabostiff then. I don't think it's my imagination here...the fact that we never see arven or mabostiff act nervous or defensive around any of the paradox-mons that we see, makes the whole thing feel very open ended.
I'm pretty sure Glimmora is the source of Terastal phenomenon. It's Violet Pokédex entry even mentions it looks like a Tera crystal. My theory is that the Tera Orb is actually what it looks like a sort of Poké Ball that is stealing energy from a trapped Glimmora hence why the Tera crystal looks so angry.
I think Greavard was an error, or insider retcon, something. Cause reading Greavards flavor text tells you that the dog Pokémon requires isolation from human interaction. Houndstone’s flavor text on the other hand states it’s reborn from a “lovingly mourned Pokémon”. Can someone help me out here cause from the games standpoint they are a direct evolution, but the lore implies that in order for Greavard to exist in the first place, it’s requirement for evolution is impossible? Some kinda Pokémon catch 22.
We’re almost definitely going to encounter that first one at some point in a DLC. Personally hoping it’s a Dragon/Rock-type which would be perfectly fitting with the aesthetic and effect of Terastalization.
I have to say, that mabostiff storyline was the best of the initial three. It showed that Pokemon can be hurt in ways a trip to the local deus ex machina pokemon centre can't fix. The whole game had surprisingly mature story elements dealing with themes not touched by any of the previous games. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Violet and look forward to starting a scarlet run.
For the quaxly thing, a regional variant is a neat thing to think about. But as far back as Red and Blue the starters have been non-native to their regions. Some of the games, until the remakes (Fire Red and Leaf Green), make some mention of the starters being sent from "a friend/colleague" as an explanation as to why you can't catch them in the region you get them. Some games, notably remakes of older gens, forego this and sprinkle in the starters on some random route so that they can be acquired more easily. I wouldn't be surprised if Sprigatito and Fueccoco were from another region despite their dex entries not mentioning it. I feel the tidbit about Quaxly migrating over has to do with the fact many birds migrate for the winter/summer. It'd make sense for some to just settle or be caught in the regions they migrate to. I also think the first secret pokemon is actually going to be a variant of Zygarde. It is known for it's hexagonal cells, and has been shown to be in multiple forms depending on how many of it's cells have been gathered. If we accept this to be the case it would also make sense for the hexagonal crystals on the tera-crowns to be this speculative new zygarde form's cells. Yes, incomplete zygarde is known to be serpentine or canine but whose to say a new variant of it wouldn't be similar to a tortoise. In terms of the "six letter name" it could just be they used six "redacted" boxes to give themselves an out or obfuscate the pokemon's name. I believe it's the same number of boxes in each language that censors the name but I cannot check at current, it'd be interesting to look into the Japanese version and other language settings of the game to see how this one is spoken of. They could also use a renamed variant of Zygarde to fit the six letter name if they wanted to and, given what they did with Wigglet and Toedscool, I could see them calling it a new/different pokemon. In terms of the Varoom, I'd be interested to see what Pokemon they'd use to animate an inanimate scrapped engine. I also think it's good to temper expectations as if they ever did show what pokemon was the reason for its birth it could be an existing one. Saying "an unknown poison pokemon" could just mean that it's known a poison pokemon entered the scrapped engine and created Varooms but which one did so is the part that is unknown. If we go with this theory I'd say it could be part of the Gastly line, as they are poison pokemon and being a ghost as well they could realistically posses an inanimate object, potentially leading to the creation of a new pokemon species. These kinds of videos are super interesting, and even though I might sound like I'm attempting to counter your points I'm not, I'm simply offering alternate explanations as this video got me thinking about neat ways older pokemon could be reintroduced.
Taking that Quaxly anf Fuecoco final evolution are based on countries outside of spain could be a hint that they inded were mot originally from Paldea.
The Varoom idea kinda sounds like when cats hide near the engine to keep warm, horror stories about not warning them before starting your car in the winter. Poison cat pokemon?
I have a theory: The first secret pokemon you mention may actually be Arceus, or somehow related to it. The name has 6 characters like the text boxes, it mentions "hexagonal plates" and while in the games the plates are rectangular, the Jewel of Life movie displays the plates as hexagonal with a similar texture to the terastal crystal stuff. Finally, the plates give arceus a specific type like how tera types work. Also, the time stuff makes sense because Dialga controls time and Arceus is the creator of Dialga. However, it does describe an interlocking "shell" so perhaps its another form of Arceus, or alternatively another legendary created directly by Arceus
The pokemon behind terastalization is a disc shape and its unclear if it is truly a pokemon, as it is often described as an entity, not a pokemon. It is only referred to as a pokemon in the scarlet/violet book in the title of the section
Also, it is probably an extraterrestrial pokemon, as it is found in the crater specifically, which was obviously created by some sort of impact from a celestial object. Whether or not there was actually a meteor or it was the disc pokemon(the crater is very nearly perfectly round) would be impossible to say.
We do have confirmation of a DLC thanks to the knowledge that a Paradox Virizion & Suicune exist, so there's the potential it may act as the DLC legendary also there's a keyword in that dex entry "inspirited"...so the poison-type is probably a ghost-type as well
I also thought that the dark type dog Pokémon was going to be a punk chihuahua that evolved into a more demonic looking greyhound Pokémon instead of maschiff and mabosstiff, because the latter two don’t really look like dark type dogs to me
Just to let everyone know in case they didn’t you can find a copy of the scarlet/violet book in the school in mesagosa city inside of the book there is an art depiction of a strange mix of the legendary dogs from gen 2 that are fused together
One important point is they aren't real. The game says the sketch artist of the scarlet/violet book made the sketches because they were inspired by the ancient/future Pokemon.
the Quaxly bit is very interesting but, as a brazilian, i think what they meant by "distant lands" could be a reference to the historical relation between brazil and portugal/spain... Quaquaval is clearly a reference to our Carnaval Dancers and that might why they reference as a distant land
What's kinda interesting to me is that Quaxxly and Mew's regions of origin seem to be pretty close together geographically, since both Pokemon seem to come from South American based regions.
If quacksly migrated and scarlet and violet is based on both portugal and spain, I think his evolution would probably be an awesome reference to brazil and samba. His attire is also very similar to the ones used in traditional brazilian dancing.
Ive been wanting the pokemon thats responsible for the tera phenomenon to be the original form of kyurem. It would be so perfect, gen 5 remakes should be coming this gen, kyurem has 6 letters, kyurem's form in bw is a "shell" of its former self, and ice and crystals are similar being clear and being known to form cool patterns. Just wishful thinking, but it'd be so cool if it did happen
TERASTALLIZING WAS DISCOVERED BEFORE THE PROFESSORS!! In the books there is a chapter where the author Heath describes going into a sleep and waking up with the picture on the left page. This page literally shows how Terastallizing works. The Hexagonal gem inside the Tera Orb amplifies a sort of light energy around the pokemon allowing it to Terastallize. The Professors grew up with this book, that's how they were able to invent the Tera Orb. They read about the mysterious Disk Pokemon their entire lives wondering, now we're wondering when the DLC it shows up in will come out...bummer. But at least Area Zero was a fun and beautiful experience, and it's theme hits hard.
The Terastal Pokémon is Deoxys. Deoxys is an Alien whose name is 6 Characters long. The Gem that composes the currently known Deoxys may have originated from this massive Gem here.
I think Quaxly might have originated in Unova because it's from a 'distant land ' and since its the only Paldea starter with a non-Spanish inspired name. Something more farfetched is that it's just a Ducklett variant but I highly doubt it.
Personally, I believe the Pokémon that is the origin of the Terastilization phenomenon is already in the game, that being Glimmora. Though it doesn't match exactly the description in the book, there is a pokedex entry that seems to imply the connection, stating that " It has recently become evident that these petals resemble Tera Jewels." Not only that, but the eyes on Glimmora are almost identical to the ones that appear on the crowns of Terastalized Pokémon, just more angry looking.
Varoom has a few points in its dex entry that quickly narrow down its prime candidate, if you look closely. While the original Pokémon being a poison type doesn’t narrow things down by itself. The fact that it “inspirited” an engine, is the key to narrowing it down. You could take that as meaning a Ghost/Poison type is the prime candidate. In fact, we have one that appears in the region. Ghastly! A Gaseous entity that could have possessed an engine and perhaps burned its own fumes as the engine started and causing it to become infused, or rather “inspirited” into the engine. Loosing its ghost typing in the process!
You need to go read the Scarlet/Violet Book found within the school entrance hall - it hints towards the Terastal legendary AND two new paradox Pokémon :)
You know, if you actually go back to school, in the main hall is a copy of the Scarlet/Violet Book and it'll actually show an image of the said "mysterious"/"secret" Pokemon, along with another one depending on the version of the game you're playing. One is basically all of the legendary dogs meshed and put together, and the other one is the swords of justice mons meshed together into one mon. Just in case you guys missed it. The text and context details really help if you're spending time taking your classes and getting to know your professor, especially the History Professor.
At some point your shown a page of the scarlet book, and I remember reading about a round pokemon with the hexagonal plates, I don't remember when but I know we've been shown a drawing of it, although I doubt it's a very good one...
And also about how quaxly isn't from Paldea, none of the starters are, you can't find any of them in any form on Paldea, unless they're the ones you could have chosen.
If you look at the violet (or I assume scarlet) book in entrance hall you actually can see a diagram of the first “origin of terastilization” Pokémon under the chapter titled “A ___isk P__é__n” which gives a slight description of the Pokémon with several blank characters within the chapter. Most words aside from the Pokémon’s name can be inferred but we know that the Pokémon was described as a word ending in “isk” that starts with a consonant.
would like to point out the first secret pokemon mentioned is ALSO referenced in the Scarlet/Violet Book that you can read in the library, with a whole lore page about it written by Heath
For the Maschief-Greavard connection, I think the main reason that the pokedex wouldn't specify that the dead dog pokemon was Maschief is because there's no way to prove it for certain, since it explicitly states the dead pokemon never met a human. Considering how difficult it is to avoid getting noticed by pokemon, it'd be next to impossible to monitor a Maschief until it died and became a Greavard without getting noticed.
In the scarlet/violet book there is a drawing of that pokemon and some extra text with some blank letters (that are easy to figure out) But the blank spaces dont actally fit the missing letters so the pokemon does not has to be 6 lettered Btw, the pokemon cry that can be heard while terastalizing may be the cry of that origin pokemon
Don’t forget the possible Suicune Paradox and possible Virizion Paradox forms that are only seen in the Scarlet Book and Violet Book respectively. The same book that shows the secret Pokémon that originated the gimmick of these games.
My head-cannon is that Varoom's origin is a nod to the Haunter+pokeball=Voltorb theory. I know the eyes don't match, but the Gastly line IS Poison secondarily and as ghosts would possess the ability to "possess" things.
a few pokemon have the "what could it really be?" and we may never get that closure vibe like Varoom. Mimikyu, and the evolved form of that dung beetle thing.
With the first Pokemon you can see a picture of It just enter the academy go right and between the books there should be the Scarlet or Violet book you can see all the Pages,a imaginary Pokemon and the terastal Pokemon but the text its filled with White cubes, censored
A few possible candidates for preexisting Pokémon related to the notebooks. These don't fulfill all of the criteria listed in the notebooks but something to speculate: Hexagonal Pokémon: Bronzor, Cryogonal. Both in SV. Crystal Pokémon: Carbink, Diancie. Odd shelled Pokémon: Dottler. Obviously these don't fulfill the 6 letter requirement but something to think about.
Terrapagos is definitely the first Pokémon you mentioned. Toxel almost came to mind for the Pokémon who crawled into Varoom but maybe because it is tiny and also part electric maybe bring life to something. Greavard and Houndstone kind of look like Maschiff and Mabostiff merged with a Litwick.
A: in the violet/scarlet book in the school library, there is an illustration of the terastal origin pokemon B:ryme once owned the not dead form of greavard
I Wonder why did gamefreak decide to not give fossils to johto, alola and paldea. I would Love theories about what these hipotetic pokemon would look like.
the varoom secret Pokémon is pretty simple to me, it is a gastly/haunter. The engine was enspirited, possessed. Which implies Ghost type, and the Pokedex tells us out right that the mystery pokemon was poison type. The Gengar line is in Paldea, in fact they are in every region and game, are poison/ghost type, and can have been shown to be very mutable, like with mega evolution and gigantamax. So i would say that the gengar line is our culprit.
Since Legends Arceus basically gave us Hisuian forms of Rowlet, Cindaquil and Oshawott's final evolutions.. maybe Quaxly will be one of the starters of the next Pokemon Legends game, taking place in a different region, showing us a different version of Quaquaval
You can see a sketch of the first pokemon in the violet book second to last entry called "a -isk p-e-n?" The book can be found when you enter the school to the right in the hexagonal bookshelf. Note: you may need to chase Arven around the school while he trys to learn about this dad, your second to last encounter with him will be in front of that bookshelf.
You can find a sketch of the terastal origin pokemon in the post game; when you finish the ace academy tournament, you can do some talking quests around the academy with anemone, Arven and Penny. If you do Arven’s, eventually you’ll find him in the library in the entrance lobby, stood next to a copy of the scarlet/violet book, if you read it, you can find a sketch in one of the final entries.
about greavard: it makes perfect sense to not include any specific reference to other dog pokemon, since doing so would probably ignite classic playground rumors that only data mining could disprove. Especially since most regional dogs are 2 stage evolution, implying a direct, evolution-like connection between the ghost dog and any other dogs would likely just cause confusion. So keep it vague, keep it simple.
