My 16 year old daughter put on quite a lot of weight over the course of lockdowns, then last June she came to me to ask for help to lose weight. The things that I've learned from you over time helped me so much to advise her how to go about it. She now takes a long walk daily and has lost 35lbs over the last 8 months. She's gone slow and steady and I think I've taught her amazing things that she can hopefully carry through life and stay away from diet fads. And a whole lot of that is down to you - thank you! 🙌🏼

I have started referring to my workouts as "practice". I grew up playing sports, I never skipped practice! It's crazy how this one word has totally shifted my mindset. Love your content, another great video!

I've just started watching your videos and I am already so pumped about all the information you provide us. I also like the fact that you don't promote good and bad food like alot of the fitness influencers. I'm a 35 year old female currently weighing 155 trying my best everyday to get to my goal weight of 120. I workout everyday strength training and now the stair master cardio. Eating clean and reading ingredients on the labels. So thank you very much for the inspiration to keep pushing hard and helping me pick my hard because it's hard to be fat and it's hard to be fit!! ❤

The amount of time I spend scrolling or reading books to find motivation, I could have already done the workout. Thank you for the reminder that the right action is where it begins.

I don't follow my own advice to my adult students. I preach exactly what you highlighted in this video. Take a small action and that will lead you to where you want to go. The only way you fail is if you quit. Or doesn't matter how long it takes. I put that advice into action this morning and walked a mile while listening to this video. 😊 I feel good and will remind myself of this feeling when I'm "too tired" or just plain lazy to get up and move! Thanks for your videos.

Jordan!!!!! I watched the whole video and then decided to take my iPad and rewatch the video in the kitchen while I chopped up romaine lettuce, chopped up my cauliflower, and my celery and have all my veggies cleaned and ready for a BIG ASS SALAD or just to grab some veggies and go. I feel like I got so much accomplished right now. Thank you for all that you do to help me!!

Thank you for always speaking about this! Hearing you and Susan speak on your podcast about how taking action is the actual MVP not motivation, changed my life. Realizing I create my own motivation through action is now something I use in all aspects of life. Thank you for the positive impact.

Action. A small word key that unlocks that mental barrier…to succeed. I’ve trained myself to think I’m just not that person who will ever be proud of my physique. Action…I’m going for a walk…to the gym. 👋🏼

This makes so much sense to me! The one habit/action I do that has changed my life is habit stacking my workout clothes into my bedtime and morning routines. After I brush my teeth and wash my face at night, I lay out my workout clothes for the next day. Then I put on my workout clothes and shoes before I brush my teeth and wash my face in the morning. I found that I was "dressing for success" by setting my intention to workout in the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of my day. I also make my protein chia pudding breakfast right before my bedtime routine. These changes led to a 35 pound weight loss and getting back to strength training regularly over that last several years.

I personally experienced this today. I've been counting calories and attempting to eat my protein goals for the past 17 days (Action). The last couple days, I started to lose "motivation". So I decided to step on the scale. I experienced a 12 lbs loss, and boy am I motivated now! I am just as motivated now as I was the first week when I could feel the results of getting slimmer.

Yes! Taking action is the 1st step… I just had to keep saying to myself “Don’t Think .. JUST DO”…. That helped get the ball rolling and was able to lose 82 lbs by just doing my plan and not over thinking… met with my coach weekly… just Do It!!

Thank you so much for the video and info, I've been following since the Big Mac challenge and it has been suuuoer eye opening, I'm doing a mini cut myself as we speak (down around 8lbs) , with the help from a nutritionist buuuuut knowing it's all about calories and all the info from your channel and insta has been SOOO helpful to hope for better results and make sure they are lasting. I agree how action, motivation and results are interconnected. The biggest struggle I have is to be okay with "change". Taking that first step (action) is ALWAYS the toughest. It's uncomfortable, alien, embarrassing and we just want that one magic pill to cure it all.....looking back, I am grateful that I have chosen to do the hardwork. Therapy, prioritizing my health, tracking my progress, trying out different things and commiting to it until it comes naturally like brushing teeth, and accepting that I'm not perfect....motivation and results will follow ❤️

My best source of motivation is my mother, who retired several years ago and has pretty much been firmly planted on the couch since then. Every time I feel like not doing anything I think about where I’ll end up if I don’t get up and get moving!

@Jordan Syatt your videos are really good. I like your straightforward approach. But I have to say that I can’t be alone in having studied so much about nutrition and health that I’m not even sure why I didn’t go into the field, yet I’m not where I want to be with my weight. I’ve gone “all in” to eating plans more times than I can count. And finally I realize that is EXACTLY the problem, a kind of extreme approach to nutrition (I also heard you mention this vicious obsessive cycle that is unhealthy in your video about bingeing and stopping binge eating)! So there are people who have “done all the things” and even had good results, but not sustained them and then created another bad cycle of overwhelm then turning into the false belief that maybe this can’t work for me. Anyway, I just want to throw that out there, and also acknowledge that it was your video about weighing-every-day-for-30-days-just-to-see-that-weight-fluctuates, which somehow clicked in my mind and broke that tendency to getting discouraged, which drains my motivation along w depleting self confidence (and self-efficacy). I hope that makes sense. Thank you.

Thank you for explaining fitness in such an understandable way. Your views are so simple but soeasily dismissed by other fitness influencers. I agree with you that taking action is better than motivation. When I don't want to work out I tell myself that I will put on my workout clothes and do only 20 minutes. After 20 minutes I can stop if I want. Most often than not, that 20 minutes turns into a full hour.
