I’ve been watching many of your London videos and they have been VERY helpful! I’ll be traveling in about 3 weeks and because of your videos I’m definitely getting much less stressed out!😄 So excited!😃😃😃
I love your channel! I'm the obsessed dad who has a 19 y.o traveling to Europe this summer, first time out of the country and first time traveling alone! Your videos have helped me greatly, seriously, it has put me at ease with my only child traveling abroad. Thank you so much. Cheers!
Love I thank Allah for bumping into your RU-vid page!🙌🏽 your soo informative that my whole London trip in June is planned out thanks 2u. I wish i can just spend a few hours with u and show me around London I'll pay you 😉😇 Thanks again. Love your page
We are planning a Carnival Cruise that originates at London Pier in Greenwich. Most like!I we will arrive at Heathrow and had thought about arriving a couple days early and staying a few days after. The hotel we thought about was CitizenM at The Tower. Any suggestions on travel with luggage in tow?
Your video series is really good. I have been to London once before and my wife and I are going back in May next year. Im always looking for the best options to get around. We are staying next to Hyde Park so the bike option might get used. You should travel down here to Australia some time to check it out.... you would love it.
Thank you!!! I'm moving there in 2 weeks and trying to get as much info as I can... you covered a lot of useful points... i'm gonna watch your other videos...
Thank you Jess so much. Very informative and entertaining. What could be the most effective transportation option for a family? Let's say 2 grown-ups, 1 child 10 yo and another 1 yo. From which age is a dedicated Oyster card required? Are strollers allowed to the tube? Might be a good idea for a separate video! ;)
Hey! It's something you'll have to decide as it will depend on where you're going, what your budget is, etc. Strollers can be tough on the tube so here's a video about visiting London with young kids that will help answer some questions: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-66NXKmKbOmY.html
I love your videos. This channel is a Godsend because I'm going to London for the first time next week. Hopefully the weather next week is nice enough to rent a Boris bike around the park! You just got yourself a new subscriber! :)
Loved this video too ! I'm planning on moving in the September for Uni and I was wondering if you could tell me if it makes sense getting a bike for myself. it seems like an inexpensive and ideal.option but I'm not too sure considering London is a super busy city and rains quite often. Also, how is South London I'm terms of living around that area ? thanks once again for the amazing tips ! :D
I love biking but London can get crazy so you should see what you think when you get here. I have my own bike but only use it for short trips around my area on quieter streets. Plus, you're right, it rains a decent amount and you could get stuck cycling in it! I live in Southwest London and love it, lots of people love South London too. Thanks for watching :)
Hi, Jess! So glad I found your channel! Friends and I are going on a spontaneous London trip next week and I'm so excited. :) For Uber, are the rush hours the same as stated for the Underground peak times?
+Melissa Huynh Hi Melissa, sounds fun! Uber doesn't necessarily cost more at peak time unless there's a fare hike due to lots of people nearby trying to grab an Uber too. If it's rush hour, you might be better off taking the tube, depending on where you are... you could be stuck in traffic for a bit, making your ride more expensive. But, you can do a fare estimate and then decide. Make sense?
Hi, where can I rent a less expensive pocket wifi or purchase a sim card before I arrive in U.K or after I arrive in U.K.Can you suggest any websites and store in the airport to rent or purchase the sim card.Thank you. By the way, I just subscribed to your channel. I love your videos as it is very informative specially for first timers like me.
Hello I am traveling to London at the end of this month. We are staying in London and other than the tourist area we want to go to Thame . I think it s near Oxfordshire. what is the best way to travel? Does Uber go there? Will Uber wait for us then take us back to the city, Any help you could give will be greatly appreciated
Is Uber still available in London? A quick Google search has led me to believe there's some issue with Uber's license to operate in London and that Uber can't technically run in London at the moment
Definitely avoid riding bicycles on the pavement/sidewalk unless it marked as ok to do so. Not only is it not cool, if you get caught by a police officer you might get a stern telling off or even fined as it is actually illegal. £50 ticket from a police officer or up £500 if you go to court.
My question is about Cell phones, how do I know if the apps that you mentioned will work for me, it I do not have cell service in England, I am coming from the U.S.~ thanks and I really enjoyed your videos
+gkngc04 Hello! Good question-- the apps will work when you're connected to wifi. Also you can ask your service provider about an international data plan while you're here, or if your phone is unlocked you can buy a sim card while you're here and have phone calls/texts/3g. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!!
Hi there, thank you replying. Sorry, I did not see it was an older video! 🙈🙈. I started off on a 2019 video and must have zapped from one to another 😅🙋♀️.
hey, i found your video really help me. but i do wanna know where to buy sim card for foreigner? or is there a lot of free wifi in London? looking forward for your answer
Thanks a lot for all the info in your channel .I will be moving to London next June and I'm very excited about it .Life will be different from Austin Texas to London
What is the best way to get from London to Cambridge or Oxford? I'll be staying in Kensington but want to venture out one day and see somewhere a bit more "English"
+karen campbell I didn't want to overwhelm first-time visitors with TEN options, so I left those out since I think they are more likely to use the 8 I mentioned.
+Quntah888 hi! Ok, this page has everything you need to know about public transport in London in a wheelchair: tfl.gov.uk/transport-accessibility/wheelchair-access-and-avoiding-stairs
@@loveandlondon cool good to know! Any idea what the daily cap is? And I'm coming for a weekend 18-21 January.. how much would you recommend i put on an oyster card?
I am from london and if u are 11-16 your oyster on the bus is free and when u travel on the train it depends if it is peak times or not and for me it costs me 75p (for all zones but when it is rush hr it is 85p
Thanks a million. Didn't expect to get your reply personally via email. :💕☺ Do you have 1 day itinerary trip in London? I think we'll either take a hop-on hop-off bus as you did for your parents. We'll arrive at around 8AM Monday May 13,2019 and we'll have to head back to St.Pancras Station to catch a train at 8PM same day back to Paris. My parents will be with us so I'll take your suggestions, I've been watching your videos but haven't come across 1 day itinerary yet. By the way, I have downloaded the City Mapper and found it useful already. Hope we'll make it and have a best of day in London. Thanks again for helping new travelers like us. Great job Jess!
Hi Annie, if you're going to do the HOHO bus then you don't need an itinerary, just use the route map they give and plan what you want to see that's on the route. Good luck ! :)
Interesting background to this video, but I won't go there. As cute as the red double decker buses are & as Iconic as the London Tube is, do you promise I can use Uber and it will work like Uber does in America? I like Uber too and I'm too "soft" (and old) to get the "Boris Bike." I'm gonna download CityMapper now. Thanks again!
Hi,Thank you so much for all your tips. I´m traveling to London in May and I´m thinking to use Uber from the LHR airport to Peckham (that's where the hotel is) but I´m worry about finding WIFI to request it, what do you recommend?
If you don't have a SIM when you get to Heathrow then I wouldn't take Uber. They might need to call you to find you so it can get very difficult. I would take a black taxi if you don't want to take public transportation.
Hi Jess, thank you very much for all your videos about london. I'm so excited about visiting in April. I have a question about uber vs kapten... Is either okay?
Can you share the logo for Citymapper app. There are numerous apps that show up when I go to the App Store (none say Citymapper). Thanks for posting the videos.... They are very informative and helping me be less anxious about my trip to London.
+Anna Marie Zoghby Hi Anna! Here it is: itunes.apple.com/gb/app/citymapper-london-hong-kong/id469463298?mt=8 Thank you so much for watching and commenting, enjoy your trip to London!
Aloha! I was wondering if you tip your Uber driver? This is becoming a thing back here in the US and you can tip when using Lyft. What do you recommend?
Hi! I am travelling to london next month. I have to go brighton.so is there any direct train or bus which go from hithrow airport? How can i go to brighton from airport? Is there any need of oyester card.please reply.thanks.
I live in the US and use UBER. I'm planning on traveling to London, is there anything different or anything I need to do before using my Uber app in London?
Ok, no need to answer this one. You got it covered in your other vid. I'm not taking it out as you already may have seen it. Hi Jess. I need to be clarified: You don't need to tap out on the buses but you need to tap out from the trains, right? And it determines your length of travel (trains). Many thanks! I am a fan.
Hi there. I absolutely love your videos. I've been to London before and stayed in Earl's Court. From there it was fairly easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. Later this year we'll be staying in South Croydon. What are your suggestions on getting to and from there, especially from Heathrow Airport?
Leaving for London today and found your channel last week. Can I just say you're wonderful! You known a lot, you communicate it effectively and you're super cute lol thank you so much for your channel!
Thnx! I 've watched this video, very useful! But what i meant is a route or routes which go/es exactly through the city centre. For example, here in Moscow if you take m27 , you can enjoy some main landmarks.
Hey! love your tips how one can get around London, quick quest... is it a good idea during rush hours (specially in the afternoon) to ride a ferry that TFL offers? thanks
Hi there! Thanks for a very informative vid, all your vids are great! Regarding the 10GBP and first Uber ride, if the trip is over 10GBP, will it get deducted off the final cost or is the cide only valid for rides under 10GBP? Thank you and have a good day 🙋♀️🙋♀️!
Hi there, I'm not sure the discount is that much anymore (this video is 3+ years old) but it's deducted off the final cost so make sure you take a ride that will cost more than the credit or you'll lose whatever isn't used.
hi :) this video was very helpful! I'm going next week to London and I'm a bit nervous cause its my first solo trip! I just have a question... I read that I can only buy the oyster card online but at the moment I'm not able to buy it online, so my question is... is there any day ticket that I can buy in the tickets machine and if so... is it worth it? Thanks in advanced :)
+AliceLo29 Good question! It's just the Visitor oyster card that you can only buy online, you can buy regular ones from the airport, train stations, convenience stores, lots of places! Just look for the signs that say they sell Oyster cards and you'll do just fine :)
Hi, Is there a difference in price between the black cab and an uber ? Also, what sort of transportation you recommend to use when we arrive at the airport and heading to the hotel? Thanks!
Ubers are a bit cheaper than black taxis. And in my free London 101 guide, you can find out how to get from the airport (whichever one you're flying into) to your hotel: loveandlondon.com/london-101-guide
Awesome, glad I could help! This video about things to know before using the underground will be helpful too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hzE0fA8BgkE.html and tomorrow's video is about Oyster cards!
I will be traveling to London in early March of this year. Your videos are absolutely awesome, and very informative. Thank you so very much for all of the helpful information!
Your videos are sooooo informative and helpful. Thank you! Can you please recommend your preferred transportation if I want to go from London to Nottingham?
If we did not pre-order visitor Oyster cards and I have an eleven year old - can I purchase an oyster card and get him the youth discount added on at the airport?
