Now this is how a "how to" video is supposed to be done. Straight to the point and not some dick that just likes to here themselves talk. Good job kiddo.
you actually only need a usb type c cable to plug into your computer in step 1 so no needing the link cable! just your android charger thanks for explaing that video tho! :)
Do not just wipe with micro fiber cloths, for best results fold the cloth and rub in a circler motion starting from the middle working your way out. just wiping up and down will leave streaks.
The Mysticle did a video on how to do it with a phone. You do need an android one though. ( It needs to have a usb-c connector in it too so if you have one it should work fine )
@@irongiant2.0_yt66 wow, you could have saved enough money by Not buying an Apple phone over Android that you could have bought a cheap PC anyway? (not that you would need a PC as you can do this through Android)?
Diamond that’s a little bit reassuring to hear. I will try your tutorial and see if it improves. It’s amazing they haven’t been able to make that sweet spot bigger.
I feel like the center is clear everything else is a tiny bit blurry. If I turn my head but look straight ahead whatever in front is crisp Don’t know if that’s just me or a prob with headset or lens
@@judd0112 yeah its the ffr, set it to low or off if you don't wanna have less res on the outside of the lenses. but ur still not gonna see it good anyways. in vr you move with ur head, not with ur eyes just for this reason
Don’t change the texture resolution for Population One, this crashes the frame rate (the game uses dynamic texture rendering that lowers automatically for far off objects)
Don't touch the 90hz feature in Sidequest as it will cause stuttering in some games, leave it default, for Population: One, 2048 textures, high on Foveated, turn of Chromic and set CPU level to 4, looks great and performs perfect.
@@plutozero Settings are still good for the latest POP:ONE was playing yesterday, just don't touch the refresh rate option, the game is much cleaner with my settings, and you can aim a little further without it looking like Minecraft on an acid trip.
Thanks man best setting for quest 2 in all, it's like turning the quest 2 into quest 2.5. I would recommend the battery strap for longer gameplay but in all these settings are great.
Note: you don't need an oculus link cable, use any usb-c cable (including the one that comes with your quest) and just plug it into your pc as if you were charging it. it's way cheaper, and the charger that comes with your quest already works as long as your PC has the usb-c slot on it.
mine doesnt :(( i sold my macbook 1 week before my headset came i didnt think of that now i dont have a cable/laptop to play games it was a 3000$ macbook pro 2019 or 2020 idk but it was new i sold it for 850$
Honestly find it ridicilous how awful recording with this thing is. I'm about to record my first long video today using the settings you've shown in your video Nathie so really hoping it works out! But when I first tried without any settings, I was shocked they force it to 4:3 and keep it at such a low quality, I couldn't believe it. And no way of recording in 4K unless, I guess, you cast it to the web browser? Which still dips in quality if your internet speed doesn't keep up 100% of the time xD
Is there a way to fix the quest 2 from switching back to default settings when it runs out of battery, restarts, or powers off? It’s really annoying that I need to keep plugging my headset back into my computer nearly every time I play with it in order to get back to 90hz, etc.
yeah, I understand. I believe that now 90hz is default so it should always be 90. you can verify this with OVR metrics found in the developer hub: developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-developer-hub-win/ ... but if you mean the res then yes, unfortunately, it's like this for now.
@@Diamond_VR maybe it’s the res then. I just notice that there is a noticeable lowering of the quality every time my Quest 2 powers off, restarts, or runs out of battery.
Just a heads up; when you were cleaning your lenses you used an up/down motion. DO NOT DO THIS! You will scratch your lenses and permanently screw your system! The lenses are striated like a fingerprint or DVD. NEVER clean your lenses in a scrubbing motion! Start from the center and work your way outward in a circular motion, lightly! For a more efficient cleaning, mix 1 part water to 3 parts isopropyl alcohol and 2 drops of dish soap.
I think this is plain wrong. It says "gets reset when you reboot". That does mean, once you reboot, you loose the configuration. Not that you need to reboot for it to work...
I was looking into it because it didn't work for me either. Seems the Oculus v35 update broke the texture options so we will have to wait, not sure when
note: with some new quest updates the resolution change may cause visual bugs such as it only rendering a quarter of the screen or a really zoomed in view. people found that modifying the text scale and resetting it through ADB command fixes it. use this whole command, adb shell "setprop debug.oculus.textureWidth 2048 && setprop debug.oculus.textureHeight 2048 && settings put system font_scale 0.85 && settings put system font_scale 1.0" , while replacing 2048 with whatever screen res you want, can do the trick all in one go
I don’t think any of this is currently applicable. I followed all these steps and nothing got better. Best to leave it alone. Oculus must have updated the settings??
Why am I seeing no resolution improvements at all on my ocular quest 2 after updating the software to v49. I have also run SideQuest on my PC and connected via the bespoken cable and tried to improve the resolution etc, but again to no avail. I do know the connection is successful as I have been able to remove the need for a guardian. Yes, I have cleaned the lens and all the rest of the requirements etc etc. Can you help me, Please?
Looking at the thumbnail, if the screen is really that blurry and bad at its default settings… then all those RU-vidrs were lying about how clear it looks… just saying
Hi hope u can help I just got a quest 2 but I don’t have pc... but my m8 does and he has a quest 2 if I give him mine can he up all the settings on mine and will it keep them saved when he gives it back to me??.... and why is it set so bad out of the box and why isn’t it in the setting to change it if we want!!!
Depending on how heavy the game you’re playing is upping the resolution will both use more battery life and might reduce the regular amount of battery life the more you use it so use these types of tips with caution.
DUDE great explanation video, you gave quick and concise points and tips that were actually helpfull and you didnt have a 5 minute fkin intro like all the other videos iwas watching on this lol
I had made some changes on Oculus PC app. I've made graphics higher (not default dynamic settings) Should I reverse those settings if I'm gonna use SideQuest graphic tricks?
Thanks I will use this cuz in a couple of hours it's my birthday and I'm gonna get the quest 2... still annoying my brother got 2 and broke 1 and his only 10 well I'm turning 13 goodbye childhood
I have a issue when I change the Res the quest Home Screen only shows up in the top left of my vision and everything else is black but once I start a game it fixes itself but the Home Screen stays this way till I change it back to default resolution
evrytime I change a settings the headset loses connection to Link then rejoins it . I also click on off headset but nothing changes even if I go to lowest texture size I se no diff?
