Bro, I'm a competitive strongman and performing strongman where I put on a live show folding horseshoes, nails, bars, and tearing decks of cards and people always want to arm wrestle me and I absolutely suck at it. No more. I'll put a on a show and take on all comers afterwards but I need knowledge.
No other armwrestler has the patience with the fans, the charisma, the courage to explain and reveal his secrets and to generally just be interesting and to put on a show, when doing a rather simple seeming martial art sport of armwrestling, like Devon has. He is the Micheal Jordan of armwrestling.
Devon, thanks so much for sharing these exercises. I'm a climber and martial artist. Been suffering elbow pains for months. The supination exercise you showed Larry Wheels for when he gets lit up alleviated that pain after one set. I'm doing that a few times a week now for 3 x 20. Again, much appreciated, my man. Peace.
Could you point me to that video, and if ya could a time stamp? I overworked the hell outta my elbow and its been flaring after even a light set since.
@@dollynhoseuamiguinho1340 though I should say anyone wanting to try it should watch Devon perform it like a minute before the time stamp. Larry doesn't quite have the form down. It's more of a anti-pronation wrist flexion exercise than a supination.
I know right... after fallin on Darren i was hooked (no pun intended) then i researched all the greats like started watching fishers highlights then the schoolboys lol.. shits intense
I have no intention of arm wrestling but Im going to use these techniques and lifts to better my clinching for wrestling and Muay Thai. Super solid thanks my dude, you're quickly becoming my favorite guy on social media.
I mixed these three exercise with my weighted pull up routine. Almost every day i do 2 sets of each of these and a few sets of weighted pullups. My forearms are so dense now its insane. He speaks the truth follow No Limits larratt
@@simeonpolevoi7760Most sets usually consists of 5-12 reps. It means when you reach 12, you go heavier and try to hit 5 reps, 6 reps, 7 reps and so on until 12 reps, then repeat the process. This process is often referenced to as progressive overload.
literally addicted to making and perfecting my own DIY makeshit contraptions just to armwrestle this wrist strength god at my school. Love a good competition. And you're an absolute legend taking the time to not only put up videos about the best and most useful lifts but also WHY they are, thank you so much for constantly selflessly helping so many ppl!!! I'm comin for ya Devon!
Hello I am from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically from Medina. I'd like to say something, Devon, thank you, thank you. The thing that distinguishes you from others is that you teach techniques and the secrets of arm wrestling and your soul is happy, meaning you do not have envy and your good self is that you benefit others. This is what distinguishes you from other players. Thanks Devon again. Badr Al-Nu`man was with you
Dude have you seen the flick Champion? Korean film about an arm wrestler and it's better than Over the Top by a mile. Tailor made for guys who love to arm wrestle.
I' m doing this for an year and a half now, since I watched an older of your videos. Don't have any aspiration of going pro or anything, but I became obsessed with the sport thanks to you, It feels healthy doing these lifts and the forearm pump is a great asset ;)
@@krishsharma9949 Here is how you do it; Let's say you are hitting push day after your 1st set of bench presses do rising while resting so you will save time and train your forearms and your workout routine together. eg. 1s set bench press 1st set rising take a rest 2nd set of the bench press then 2nd set of rising ...
Thanks for all your help. I have been arm wrestling for about 25 years I'm 44 and have a little better then 600 wins to about 7 losses. Have been a BIG fan. Thanks again Mason
I have been in this for more than 1 year for you, every day I love armwrestling more, this helps me both physically and mentally...thank you very much for the councils, I hope one day to meet you in person, you are the inspiration of many, love u man.
I've joined Armwresling family after watching one of your videos and since then I just fell in love with the sport. Training the way of the pumpkin every day. Thanks for bringing Armwresling into my life and keep up an awesome work. Cheers from Poland!!!
Thanks Devon, used to arm wrestle as a young high school kid but no technique, just lifting weights just to help keep fit. For a few months now , have been concentrating on doing it right, at 70 years old, thanks to your videos.( I know I 've got to be careful with old bones)
Same story for me, used to lift weights and arm wrestle when I was 18-20 but had no idea what I was doing, now at 70, a renewed enthusiasm thanks to Devon's videos and others. Thanks again !
Devon your the shit. Your early wal matches has really gotten me into the sport and I've been addicted every since. Great video, much love from missouri
I've been doing that last lift religiously for over a month now, best thing I've ever incorporated into my arm workouts, high volume, nasty corn fed pumps...thanks for the tips Champ
Thanks man! Arm wrestling made me realise I need to work on my forearm and bicep strength. Gonna try to incorperate it into my weightlifting routine :)
Great heart, Devon💓. That’s genuine love for the sport....letting out trade secrets to all, short and concise depth in arm strength training. God will bless you for that.
I'm not an arm wrestler but I am still inspired by this man. It is so awesome that as good as he is he is willing to share his secrets of success. I'm not sure I would lol Hes the best and he wants you to be the best, it is awesome stuff. Always a pleasure watching your videos Devon!
Sir, I'm a big fan I've been watching your video since last year , and I've been practicing with guys elder to me , well build, I've also played with guys in the gym and everyone was sent surprised to see me undisputed. Thank you so much sir for motivating me.🙏
I'm a huge fan of Devons, but the GOAT of armwrestling has and always will be John Brzenk. Anyone that argues that has never been a true fan of the sport. Devon's absolutely the greatest right now but definitely No where near Brzenks level and being unbeatable for 20 plus years!
Just back into after 25 years away. My first tournament past sat..went 2-2. Lost to 2 men your size Devan. I remember these exercises and am now back into training....my comfort zone is exactly these 3 moved. Thanks for making the vid
I don't even do arm wrestling but fell down a youtube wormhole last night. From a outsiders view this is the best guy to have as a ambassador from this sport. He loves it, gives info free, is still excited about it after all these years
Thanks for sharing, Mr. Larrat, I hope a lot of people got the benefits from your knowledge and experience, thanks for teach us as the form of your kindness sir
Thank you for everything you have taught me over the years!! True ambassador to the sport and of life!! You inspire more people than you can an imagine!!
I’ve been watching you now for about a year, and I’ve been trying to imitate you. I may never be on a stage, but it’s fun to beat all your friends at a party. Thanks for another great video.
Thank u Devon. I've been looking into what the main things I needed to do to improve. I'm out of sw Missouri and have been to 3 practices and 1 tournament. I've improved pretty well in that time. I also need to work on my grip
Superb stuff. Devon is one hell of a competitor and a great ambassador for this sport. Not gonna lie, this guy got me interested in armwrestling big times
Great tips. Your confidence and stamina are unmatched. Always like the way you crush your opponents. Amazing how you can do so many pulls and not have your arms turn to rubber.
Nobody motivates me more like this guy...tough on the battle field and gentle gaint while mentoring...my firearms are pumped up and defines with his teachings..thanks Devon
Hey Mr. Larratt Love the content, since I was released from the military I felt a loss of purpose in life. I continue to push myself but remain very near sighted. Your content continues to give me hope. Your ability to be an outstanding father, leader, and member of society is beyond admirable. The near perfect work ethic and drive you display through out your day in the content you create is something I commend you for. Thank you.
Devon, I've followed you for a few years now even before all the awesome collabs and exposure you've done for yourself and the sport of armwrestling. I love your style, etiquette, strength, mindset, and really everything about you. You're such an integral part of the sport and I'm glad to see your passion through every meetup and youtube video you provide us :) I'm just curious though, when you beat pushkar,Todd, and Bagent through the years of 2006-2013, how do you compare yourself now to then in terms of strength. I know you switch your routine up regularly but I wasn't sure if you still did any similar lifts or have a different metric you can use to compare your strengths. I know you used to do some crazy weight with the 200lb+ dumbbells where you would hold them and get a crazy eccentric lift. Those matches were so amazing I'd love to hear how you rate yourself from now vs. then if you do any of the same lifts. Much love, stay safe and rona free
thanks devon im from the philippines thank you for sharing your technique with others later is i am a armwrestler but i am always lose in a match then when i watch your video and i am now top1champion of the philipines thank you so much devon..
Yo Devon why don’t you start a course?? A step by step how to properly get stronger and better at arm wrestling?? The arm wrestling world is growing everyday and you also are growing and I know for a fact people want to know how to get stronger. And we all see you as one of if not the greatest of all time. And we would love you as a mentor
Haven't arm wrestled in years and just found this community on YT. I love how much his training is actually working the forearm/wrist: Wrist abduction, flexion and pronation seem to be the fundamental strengths here. I was definitely under the misunderstanding that elbow flexion (biceps etc) was the main force. TIL.
Just watched a shit ton of WAL videos of you Devon. You're so cool. The way you laugh at your opponents, win against incredibly strong people, get people tired and make them pin themselves. You have a great personality and show great sportsmanship (after the match that is lol). Keep on doing what your doing! Cool to see you hanging out with Larry Wheels and others too.
Mr. Larratt- thanks for all the great videos. I stumbled onto your videos by looking for grip strength work. I then began watching armwrestling and became a fan. If you have time to answer I have a few questions for you. I've struggled for years with tennis and golfers elbow. I've been doing the rising and pronation work like you show here that I learned from you awhile back. I use resistance bands and my cable set up. I've been doing higher reps only and building up slow with reps between 15-30 per set. For someone that doesn't plan on arm wrestling regularly would you suggest just staying with higher reps or hitting more lower rep work? I had thought about using the statics for the real power work instead of doing reps. I know thats a lot but I'd like to hear your ideas for folks that want to get the growth and power using these but avoiding old nagging injuries. Thanks for your time and any input.
Come on guys. This gentleman is a legend. The likes and audience ( the people who like and sub) is so small. Yet the following is huge. Show this X-MAN SOME REAL LOVE. SUB!!!
It cant be said enuf. I dont comment much but youre a legend man. A fxckn legend who does so much for the sport. Ur the jerry west of armwrestling in that the logo should be you. youre the logo of arm wrestling and thats coming from the voice of all your fans. We acknowledge the perfect storm is the goat, but the fact that your invest so much of your time into the sport simply because you love it. Not just to win but to inspire and expand it as a whole. Its truly beautiful, youre the logo of arm wrestling. It should be an outline of u pronating ur way outta grip to get into straps
I hope Devon realizes just how impressive 741 likes to 1 dislike is over 24 hours. And also that the majority of that is purely from his character. Really nice person it seems.
1:10 Devon: *So it's between your punching knuckle and your first knuckle...* Science: *Actually they're called metacarpophalangeal joints* Devon: *You said something?* Science: *Nothing good sir please carry on*
Actually it's between the metacarpophalangeal joint and the proximal interphalangeal joint... but now I'm just being a boring stickler, ill see myself out
Devon has been arm wrestling since he was 4 years old and he had a dream to become a great arm wrestler and he has become the world's greatest, so he ain't new at it.
I never knew i would be so interested in arm wrestling, you're definitely a big part of my interest in the sport. You are very easy to like Devon, very inspirational and a great genuine guy. I hope to see you get revenge on Michael Todd soon!!
Concerning the wrap on the rising lift: I started doing 2 different wraps for this lift and it has helped me alot. Relative to an actual match, your wrap would be the equivalent of facing another toproller, going for rising and deep backpressure through the hand at the start. But often your opponents fingers wont pressure your fingers, they will be place on the ridge between your thumb and your wrist. So you should wrap so that the main pressure is exactly there. Because thats actually where you will be pulling from, when rising in an actual match. The back ridge of your thumb, not the fingers. I cant explain my wrap in words but I can say that the lift become more challenging, and I am finally feeling sore again from doing this lift.
