Level One: Tiandi UNDOGEABLE Attacks only Level Two: Orochi Lights Level Three: Highlander Lights on Offensive These can help but really it's most off how you read your opponents. Watch how people play then use that against them. Silly Baki 😘
@@RattlebonesTheThird its worse when you play cent and the orochi dodges everything so you have to rely on only guardbreaking, single lights and parrying to get a hit lmfao
I have +1,000 hours on this game and I can count the amount of times I've actually practiced in training mode on a single hand. Not a very good thing since I play on EU and somehow find myself getting matched into tournament players.
The only problem with bot training specifically for light or zone parrys is that you know what's coming. I would do mixups and not just pure zones or lights. For timing, it's ok to learn.
First off, you’re insane at this game, I started following recently after seeing the percent of people who watch your videos and are subscribed… hope it’s improving 👍 you deserve it. Secondly, you’re on PS4 right? I don’t see how you react to lights or zones as I can sit in training for an hour and never react fast enough to block lights thrown unless I have a feeling where the light is gonna come from, idk if it’s my reaction time or my internet or what but clearly it’s not the console cuz you’re making it work just fine (I’m on Xbox One). I feel like I have to read everything thrown at me to hit clips but I’d like to be able to parry lights on reaction one day. Finally, where is the option to make the bots zone? I can make them do nearly everything else but can’t find zone for some reason
Time is the answer. With time you will get that feeling more often and it will be much accurate. WIth time you will also learn the timings of lights and zones so you can counter light spam. And don't look down! It took me over 600 hours to learn these skills and (kinda) perfect them.
On Xbox One you only have 30FPS and I'm assuming 60hz unless you use a good monitor. It makes it harder to react, but if you keep at it you'll develope better reaction times either way.
@@grantbrown9024 I have it hooked up to a large flat screen that I’m like 8 feet away from which I assume is hurting me a lot too although I don’t know the extent
I have a tip that would massively help out.when you are starting out or youre in the middle of the way, there are some heroes or certain moves you have problems .definetly take the time and go to training and pick the hero u “hate” playing against and play around with him until you understand how a person who plays the hero thinks in different situations and scenarios. Even lookup people on yt who play that character after u played around with it yourself so you would have a much better understanding how to play against them. Thats why when people main a certain hero ,they know how to play against an opponent who is using their main they pretty much know what their opponent is goin for most of the times…thats the kind of mindset you want to have in this game and hope it helps someone out.
First i practise heavy parries, superior lights, then i practise orochi's or beserk's dodge lights parries. That's how i warm up to the clusterfuck that is a dominion match.
I can parry/deflect lights relatively consistently in training mode unless they are Highlanders enhanced lights like the ones you were parrying in the video… I can barley even block those and I’m on a ps5 with 60 FPS. You’re just another breed.
Here's my comment to get that full video, but I will say that as a scrub who can't light parry worth a damn, I do win quite a few matches just by observing my opponent and making reads. I don't need the reactions to light parry if I know you like to avoid top lights in a light-light chain, or if you always dodge light when you see bash orange.
Now that I think about it I never actually trained like this before like 'parrying light attacks and stuff' its mostly due to me just playing against my friend all the time who mains bezerker so I gradually just got used to lights attacks and getting deflects, but it was usually playing as shinobi against him him being my old main having 11 reps in.
To be true for me it wasn't practicing for specific things that got me better at parrying /deflects (except for the option select counters) but TIME. I was bullied by enhanced lights (and sometimes light spam) for 600 hours but one day after a break from the game, it just popped. Honestly it felt like learning to ride a bicycle, it took time and a lot of fails but one day I succeded. You have to think of yourself as wine. You only get better with age.
Im doing this because i actually pray for longer four edits videos with that amazing voice💙💙💙 the Get better at black prior video was just amazing and hilarious😂 very nice tips by the way!!!
This is great advice but man is it frustrating to sit there and miss a parry on a bot over and over lol especially when I know whats coming bc that just proves to myself how shit I am 😂
The no UI parry training seem very effective to train parrying on console. The attacks are the same speed as they were before the only thing the CCU affected is indicators, the first 100 ms of attacks are hidden So in theroy based on my observations by training without UI you learn to parry based on animations, which will save you 100 ms to react. Before the indicator will come youll only have aproximatly 150 ms till your brain recognises that an attack is coming(Avrage reaction speed is around 250). These numbers are excluding things like input delay and monitor quality This explaines why this Four Edits can pull off these impressive parries Also id like to add that the best training that exists in For Honor(And everything that is competetive) is to play duels against a friend like Four Edits mentioned. It is even better if your friend is better than you and as commited as you, that way you improve and become better untill youll match his skill level and then you both become better and better. Remember if you know how to parry but cant parry check the ping of your enemy to save some of that frustration
May sound stupid but worked for me. Instead of changing you guard direction and then pressing the parry do it at the same time... So basically is a matter of reaction time, predict that the next attack is going to be a light and then parry on red
Insane clips... You might be the only other Person who plays without ui... Started this challenge a year ago and its so much easier then All this stupid indicators 🤣👍🏻 Keep up your good work and happy deflecting 😊
@@FourEditsYT Been real hard to adapt to all the new changes, but I am getting better for each day. Gonna practice my reactions tomorrow with what you showed in the vid :D
deflecting dodge attacks becomes really easy the more you try, when i just started trying to deflect shit i was ass, my friend gave up on deflects and plays only heroes that dont need to deflect, but i kept trying to deflect any attack thrown at me with time the deflects just started landing and now the two heroes i am great with are glad because of his all round awesome kit and shinobi just keep trying
After 290 reps on console Ive learned skill really does not matter in this game. Its too filled with guessing games and bullshit. I cant tell you how many times I was shredding players with delays, deflects, and light parries with reads, but it doesnt matter when they panic spam lights and 50/50s killing me without much work.
So do you just use default for your controller setting? Playing forever and I still suck lol. My reaction time is so much better when playing street fighter games but I think I'm reacting to the counter too fast that I can't make a block or deflect? Playing on the Playstation BTW. Enjoy your vids!! Thanks!
Feel like For Honor brought a lot of non fighting game players in, and because they didnt know how those games operated, mixed with a new system for fighting, just combined into this massive toxic community because they aren't really aware of how the game works, IMO
The Problem is the frame buffer... Sure if youre a Badass and make good reads you can destroy some people but the thing is that parrys and deflects are now bugged. You do a parry on timing and you will eat that attack... you do a heavy like 2 seconds before the enemy do an attack and boom there goes your parry. If your reactions are so quick you could get a bug like me: do a parry and at the same time try to move your guard on any other side. Your character will do the parry animation and you will eat the attack. Nice UBISHIT!
Yeah, but it's kind of hard to make reads on 100 latency opponents who also have 500 latency spikes. Do you have any suggestion on how to deal with those? Since training mode doesn't offer latency settings on the bot.
Depends, light parries confirm top heavies, and some characters have some really valuable parry punishes. So whether or not you should parry really depends on who your fighting, and what character you are fighting with. If you have a light spammer absolutely learn to light parry, not only will this end up giving you the edge because they have only ever learned what the light button is, it will also do psychological damage if you're fighting specifically highlanders.
I donno lol all i can say is practice makes perfect... well makes better than dog poo lol i mean theres some people who are like rep 120 that i fight against that still rely on light spamming so i dominate them lol
They are still a thing on all platforms. Option select removal was put into the last testing grounds and will probably be a permanent change to the game at some point soon. My guess would be when Y5S3 comes out.
Next video "how to parry high ping warriors" XD Jokes aside excellent video though ill keep training with hitokiri because she's my main but also all must hear the whispers of death
I hated when ppl would say “you don’t make reads in this game you just get lucky guesses” and then there’s FOUR EDITS you play any other fighting games bro?
