Been playing 40 years and l still struggle badly. I can play and talk. But once l start to try to sing it all collapses. I mean everything collapses. I can actually feel my brain fall apart.
Because playing and talking doesn’t help like this guy tries to claim, look at lyrics with the chord underneath a word, practice timing the chord change with that word, go extremely slow, simplify the strumming, think of your key words that will eventually subconsciously trigger a chord change, It’s actually more difficult to try and talk and sing, even this guy evidently struggled more than when he sang and played, shown by his pauses between chords so he can think of what he’s saying next, only once his hand was in the correct position he kept speaking. Meanwhile the song he sang was fluid, this is due to being able to sustain vocals, let the previous word ring out or change chord during a pitch shift or change of words
Hey how much time does it take to reach this amount of skill? I lose the rythem when singing , I'm practicing for 1 month and it's my the 4th attempt to play guitar thanks
When you state you need to be able to talk whilst playing, you see that you’re pausing and taking a second to think what you’re playing, which you obviously can’t do whilst you’re singing notes at the same time, you talk, pause, change hand position then proceed to play and talk, If you were talking whilst fluidly changing your chords you wouldn’t contradict yourself. It’s actually harder to talk and play than sing and play as you can ring and sustain your voice out whilst you do those chord changes and make adjustments, it’s also easier to think while you’re sustaining your vocals as you’re thinking about what’s next while sustaining your previous already thought out note.
I never said it was easy, it's an exercise that can be helpful for singers trying to focus less on the playing of the instrument and be able to focus more on doing well with your voice@@Akuma-ti7wi
@@Dougzed well if we’re putting words into each others narratives then I never stated that you said it was easy lmao, simply implying you’re exercise is mediocre, teach people to simplify the songs whilst they sing the song at a slower tempo then you’ll find yourself picking up the pace gradually, just over complicating things trying to make people have conversations whilst playing lol
