In this video, I introduce parallel programming to obtain cleaner reverb tones. While I am using a Fender Tone Master Pro, these concepts work with any modeler.

This is great content. I've just subscribed. I hope your channel grows, you deserve it. I have been amazed at my Tone Master Pro..hours lost just dialling in different sounds, effects etc.

Thank you for the kind words! It is definitely easy to get lost in the TMP. I chuckle every time I discover something cool. I love messing with delays and reverse delays lately. There’s a preset in the 110s called SlipStream. Reverse engineering that one has really opened up some creative doors for me

I would love to see a video on dialing in an amp.
@damionandy
@damionandy 7 месяцев назад
I'm not sure the best way to go about this. I just demonstrated how I dial in amps in my last 2 videos. The best way, I've found, is to watch a lot of videos dialing in an amp and then practicing. All of my videos so far are me dialing in an amp, then creating a preset around it. Let me think about the best way to make a video on this. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions as to what would help you out the most, let me know. I'd love to brainstorm on this.

AC30 Normal was the original Vox and had no treble or bass control just a tone cut in the power amp. The brilliant channel was added in 1963 with an extra tube and treble and bass controls that was the early Beatles sound

Great video, thanks for the awesome advice! If you were using for example a Deluxe Reverb or Twin Reverb, and wanted to use the amp's built in Spring 'verb, would you just put the delay pedal after the amp? I guess in that case your delay would have the reverb on it. Or I suppose you could do a parallel chain and put the amp w/ 'verb on my side and the delay on the other, but then your delay is only picking up your guitar input prior to it going through the amp sim.

@damionandy 7 месяцев назад
Great question. Honestly, until I had a modeler, I ran my Delay straight into the front of the amp and had my delay hit reverb. Since I started like that, I'd probably just keep it in front of the amp. While videos can sometimes make it seem like a deal breaker and YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY, it really didn't sound bad in practice (delay in front of reverb). I gigged this for over a year before I got into modeling. Just experiment and trust your ear!

Hello agin Damion? what exactly does the right big knob do (the volume, master%) . I turn mine and nothing changes, only the faders in the mixer make a change to sound level, either in usb mode or outputting to a soundcard. WHat am I missing? Thank you :)
@damionandy
@damionandy 7 месяцев назад
@gibson2623, great question! That is your overall output coming from your output 1 and 2 on the back of the unit. Think of it as your master fader in a mixing session. You need to link your outputs to master for it to effect the volumes, though (this is why I'm not sure it affects USB 1/2 & 3/4 channels). I use it to monitor the volume going into my DI when I"m making videos. If my master volume is at 100%, I'll clip when recording these videos; however, if I pull it down to 70-80%, I won't. Does that make sense?

@@damionandy Hi Damion. Thanks for being so kind. If I understood, I must lit on in BLUE the MASTER icons in the MIXER. I was wondering about that.... I will try it out today and let you know. Thank you for your help :)

My unit produces hissing/grounded noise when plugged with auxillary cable. The same when it is connected to the mixer or amp. Do you think this is normal or a factory defect? My headrush doesnt have issue like this.

@@damionandy yes, before I use it that is the first thing I did. I even changed the power cable and didnt get better result. So maybe there is an internal problem with soldering I believe? Therefere a factory defect?

@@josephl7077there’s a fix that came out about three - four days ago addressing this issue. If you have it applied, factory reset, and it’s still there, I’d contact Fender.

I’m a retired old newbie. Been learning guitar with a tutor for 12 months. I’ve a fender player telecaster, player plus strat and an Ibanez RG550. I’ve downloaded preset for the clean warm tone but it sounds nothing like your sound. It sounds thin and a bit tiny not matter how I adjust ☹️. I’ve tried it through my line 6 spider V 30 full spectrum setting and line 6 flextone III and I just can’t get that amazing full rounded sound you get and many others get . Any suggestions on what to do….is it down to the amp….if so what amp are you using Thanks
@damionandy
@damionandy Месяц назад
Hmm I’m not familiar with these models. Are they FRFR? What’s the sound like coming from your headphones? Also, you need to be mindful of the EQ from the pickups. A strat with single coils will not sound as full as a les Paul with humbuckers. So if you need more from your Strat, trying pulling back the highs and boost the low end
@markwebster5307
@markwebster5307 Месяц назад
@@damionandy thanks mate… no they’re not FRFR . Learning guitar 🎸 is one thing but the sound side is a minefield of learning 🤪
@damionandy
@damionandy Месяц назад
@@markwebster5307 That's going to be an issue. You're basically reamping an amped signal. Think of the Tone Master Pro as an amp. That amp is going into another amp, which is why you're getting bad sounds

The preset volume is awesome. If you are not intelligent enough to understand , I can explain to you.
@damionandy
@damionandy 7 месяцев назад
I don't think you understand what I'm talking about or there's something lost in translation here.. Every preset volume is really low, which requires manually increasing it. I live stream and record with this unit, 35% volume isn't loud enough to be in the mix. In a live situation, this may not be an issue because you can simply crank your FRFR speaker, but if you are sending to FOH, you'll want to send the sound engineer your full signal for the same reasons.
