How to Get Candle Wax Out of the Carpet 

For anyone curious, this also works with a steamer

What a fantastic tip! I had a thick heavy amount of wax on my carpet. I used this tip, but I poured Washing up liquid on the stain, before laying over a hot, damp towel. Then I used the iron as directed. It took a few minutes, but the carpet is spotless and undamaged. Thanks for the tip.

great information, I used it on my kids room and it worked great!... FYI the reason a wet cloth works better is because water transfers heat better than air ( dry cloth being mix of air and particles) but I would have never thought water and wax would work together. thank you for your taking time and experimenting : )

Flipping fabulous my candle wax has been in the carpet for over a month, and now it’s out quick as a flash! Amazing thank you 🙏 I rent and the carpets are crap and have been down for 14 years so I didn’t really care because the seams are going anyway but it’s not in my conscience to not take care of things so I’m so glad for my own standards it’s come out - brilliant :-)

Worked for me. Spilled dark blue candle wax on a brown carpet and was able to get the wax out. I also used a bit of stain removing laundry detergent and wiped over the area once I saw most the wax was gone.

That was a great demonstration. Now I have to try it. 😊

This worked, TY! I didn't have the cloths but moistened Bounty paper towels worked just as well. Also, be careful not to lay it on anything you care about because the wax seeped through onto my ironing board cover and stained it, and that didn't come off with your method. :(

This really helped me because I have a wax machine that's senteted and one day I'm sweeping and I trip on the cord and causing it to fall and making a huge wax stains on my couch. This helped it get all off. Thank you so much ❤❤❤

My iron like most has steam on or off ,off is just heat,so which settings. I have a small wax stain , that I cleaned most of with kitchen cloth at the time but if this improves it then why not 👍

Does this work on old stains?

Do I have to wait for the wax to harden? I just spilled dark green candle wax on my carpet.

I have a spot on carpet from a previous tenant so much in some places you can't aee the carpet. 😁 I'll try this. May take a while although I'd expect it to remove a lot of it at first. Edit: trying this now, not working. Cloth may be too thick. I'll get thinner ones and retry.
