How to get Controller Support for the Epic Games Launcher (Any controller) 

When the Epic Games client is so bad you have to make it run through Steam to work lmao

For the people that don’t have epic games on their stem just at the bottom of the screen it says add game add epic and then make sure it’s closed and ur controller is connected and click big picture mode and u should be able to move with your controller then go to library and click epic games then click play and at the bottom left of epic u should see it said config loaded

This actually worked. I thought it didnt but make sure to close ur epic games launcher in the task manager before you launch it in steam. Just a little tip so you dont have to go thru the pain i went thru

Every time I open epic games on steam it doesn't seem to register my controller even though Steam does

For me it works until i get to launch section, Then when i click launch it just won't start Epic Games even though Epic Games is closed

I think since this video, EPIC have realised people were doing this, and have prevented this from working now. :( They would prefer people stick to using crappy EPIC launcher instead that doesn't support our controllers. Currently if you try to run Epic launcher through Steam, it does nothing "Through it" but simply opens EPIC launcher externally...

I have done this. I have watched like thousand tutorials of this. I have done everything right, but it still doesn't work. When I open up rocket league from steam, I can't do anything . It says, "press any button to start". I press every button I have on my controller. And yeah, before anyone comment "have you checked that your cable is plugged into your computer", yes I have done that many times. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please make an answer to my comment here!

Thanks, at first I thought "oh no another video of start your game via steam client", but starting the epic games launcher over steam feels much more criminal. This fix helped me with Shadow of the tomb raider, which i got for free on epic games, but it was not possible to start it via steam. Now I can play it with my controller. ❤

If you are using a Power A or official switch pro controller you have to set it up in steam before it will recognize it as a controller.

I used this method all the time for a year and just yesterday night I can't use my PS4 controller to play Fortnite anymore. It detects my controller as a mouse and keyboard and not a controller. Been so frustrated. :/

if it doesnt work its cuz ur epic isnt rlly closed go to ur task bar and scroll down to backround proccess and end task of epic games then it should work

I didn’t get the controller notification. Thingy on the side...

If this doesnt work try to turn on overlay in the top left corner of steam > In game > Enable the Steam overlay while in game. I think this worked for me?

I dont know why every source says this is the solution, and all the comments are saying it works but it doesnt?? I launch Epic games launcher through steam, no overlay possible, no controller support still. I tried thru social club also. I'm gonna blow my brains out.

Damn that's tough, you know epic games launcher is bad when it has to rely on OTHER applications to get any type of controller support. They recently added all of KH to the launcher with no controller support but the game itself LOL laughable asf
