How to get Dell iDRAC6 Temp, power, voltage graphs in Grafana

In this video i will show you how to ship iDRAC metrics- power,voltage, fan speed and temperature to grafana for real time monitoring and also have graphs for better visualization and also get alerts when say, you are about to fry a critical server because the cooling system failed.

Nice video. I have something slightly off. I went through everything, I have telegraf running on my Poweredge server, but in Grafana the only measures I see when I select the drop down are those that start with "win_". I see win_cpu, win_disk, etc. but I don't see any IPMI measurements. It seems I need telegraf on my datacollector node instead of the poweredge server? I run the IPMITool and get all the data from my datacollector machine so I must have missed any earlier step?

Thank you for making this series. I love that grafana is free ** I followed your last videos and i have my vsphere graphs. I will try this for my R720s. You think it will work since you used R710s?

This will work with most servers. I gave tested it with R720s and it works.

my telegraf.conf is fine, i can use ipmi tool to see my dell but how to grab it from the data source?

On my first attempt when i tried to run ipmitool I got Get Auth Capabilities command failed Error: Unable to establish LAN session Error: Unable to establish IPMI v1.5 / RMCP session I fixed this by going into my idrac -> idrac settings -> IPMI Settings -> Enable IPMI Over Lan and checked that box.

I would like to know if this can handle 100 servers idrac at a time. Its not useful for if i to do 1 server only.

Thanks man. I followed your docker setup. Can you create one for a full vsphere setup thats good for production? I have this (following your series) running in a lab and i am ready to move to my production environment.

Its the same process. You just have to plan better. If a lot of people are interested, i will create a "production worthy" series, but it takes time so i will only do it if lots of people want it, otherwise DM me what your concerns are.
