Great video Christian and you showed some great examples for what you were talking about. I love how light patterns can show depth in landscape photography. Thanks for sharing the video, great work 👍🙏

Hi Adrian, I'm so sorry for the long delay, but I'm currently traveling and don't have the best possibilities for internet in the moment :) Yes, definitely. Low light in the foreground with some accentuations, forming a nice pattern are so fantastic. Thank you so much and have a great week, Christian

Thank you for the great video! This is the most comprehensive explanation about depth in a photograph that I have seen so far. Points about colour, sidelight and contrast were great and a total revelation to me. Finally, I got why fog is so good for forest fotos and that haze can be an advantage.

Thank you for producing this essential check list for obtaining depth in landscape photography.. Very impressive as far as content goes and I'm sure many will find this information useful. However, it does get quite difficult to listen to given the speed of delivery and the lack of separation between concepts. You may need to take your own advice there. On top of the lack of structuring for our better understanding (and possibly taking a breath or two now and then while the listener processes what is being said), it sounds like your microphone or that space has too much echo or something. Your words seem to bounce all around that room once the mic picks up your initial speech and then it feeds back. It's just that much more difficult to understand with whatever the settings are currently. Or perhaps a better quality mic would resolve the issue altogether and for good. Please test it with someone listening specifically for this issue and see if it makes sense to you. Anyway, thanks again and hope you'll continue to make quality programming for this channel. I'll be saving this one to my research inventory.

Hi Dee, thank you for your kind and constructive feedback! I use my Rode SmartLav+ microphone, which has good quality, actually. But the room is quite small and so susceptible for echos. I engaged already with better sound options for my office videos, but as the room is small, I didn't find a way to place all the needed epuipment at the ideal place without seeing it in the video and so I ditched this idea temporary. The biggest issue seems indeed to be the small room. If I had 500k subscribers the solution would be easy: I could simply move to a bigger house :) But I'm really interested in increasing my video and audio quality, I will find a solution. Just give me some time therefor. Thanks a lot and nice greetings, Christian

Dodging & burning in post helps a lot. Need to be light handed on thow, just a little tweeking. So many people process their photos so they hardly look real anymore. = Like portraits. Yah, thats the ticket. Landscape portraits! Oh, by the way, I said tweeking, not twerking. Don't get so excited.

Hi Thomas, dodging & burning is definitely a good technique to support the plasticity and the visual flow of an image. The question is: how far is it "allowed" to go away from reality? And that's the good thing about art. There doesn't exist something like a right or wrong. It is your little world, you can do whatever you want :) But of course, when your goal is to create an image, using a realistic concept, less is more. Thanks a lot for watching and nice greetings, Christian
