Awesome video and info!! Thanks man! My warm up normally involved kickstarting my 2ST in full gear! 😆 My HR is normally around 180 when doing so lol!

I was thinking about needing to improve my sprint speed while riding yesterday. I ride 1-3 times a week in rolling high desert terrain and go more or less non-stop for 1.5-2hr at a moderate yet quick pace, however I've been feeling that it's somewhere in the neutral spectrum of your intensity graphic (nice editing there!) and not drastically bettering my speed for racing in the desert. I feel that: 1) Backing off the pace every few rides and focusing heavily on basic technique like posture, gripping with the knees, looking ahead, early braking, etc. would benefit my top speed in the long run by making good technique habitual. 2) Working on much shorter high intensity turn track sessions (no motocross track around me) as you recommend in the video to getting used to terrain coming at me that much faster when twisting the throttle to the stop until my braking points. Your video has encouraged me to seriously focus on the high intensity turn track laps and given me a good framework for what sort of time intervals and intensity I should be running. In the past I have just been going "fast" for 30ish minutes but with that I end up holding back quite a bit from true "sprinting" pace. Thank you! A suggestion to other viewers who are looking for even more ways to improve speed at races/riding: Riding on new and varied terrain will greatly increase your speed on the typically varied surfaces and topography found race to race. My riding area is heavily whooped out (2-4+ft deep for miles and miles at a time) high New Mexico desert and primarily on curvy ridgelines, I'm fast on that but can't ride in the woods or sharp rocks to save my life.

Heck yeah man, this is exactly what I have been looking for/doing. During my last MRAN desert race I sprinted out super hard, got into first place (in my rather small class) and somewhere around one hour (75% of the course) I started to slow down. My hamstrings started cramping, my triceps hurt and I started to sit down more often - right about then the guy in second place became the guy in first place. We held these spots all the way to the end. - Since then I have been working up to being able to sprint 90-110% for 1:30:00 (roughly the first lap length/time). The things you taught in the clinic and these videos is huge.

i started hitting the track last year. it brought my enduro riding to another level. much faster, better bike handling and cornering and looser riding technique. more confident catching air and leveraging objects at speed to maintain momentum.

A lot of great tips I need to incorporate in my riding. 5:35 - why is it that everyone I ride with wants to go balls to the wall and not get their blood flowing first? Haha I have to get warmed and it takes me like 30 minutes to.

I’m definitely an endurance rider. In my 1.5 hour races I usually get faster with each lap but I start slow and am behind most of the class
