Thank you for the very helpful information. This brings so much clarity to the overwhelming metro lines, however, I wish you would’ve mentioned the option of car rentals as well in this post. Will be heading there in 6 days 😊

When we was there we stayed in Asakusa so we used the Keikyu and it worked out perfectly!! It put us out in front of the hotel. Awesome job as always. Oh and Roll Tide!!!!🐘
@ReiwaMagi
@ReiwaMagi 8 месяцев назад
For Asakusa/Asakusabashi, you can just stay on the Keikyu and get off at Asakusa/Asakusabashi station respectively. The Keikyu through runs most trains beyond Sengakuji station all the way going to the Keisei line, but it needs to run through the Toei Asakusa line to do so.

That's exactly what I did ten weeks ago and will probably do again in September 2024. Using a taxi or bus after exiting the airport feels like cheating, no matter how tired I am. :)

Actually, if you are heading to Asakusa, Ginza or Nihombashi, the Keikyu Line provides a direct service. Trains pulling into Haneda Terminal 3 alternate service directions, one train goes west, the next train goes east, onto the Toei Asakusa subway line that connects directly to those places I mentioned earlier. Just look at the platform information board for a Keikyu train whose final destination is NOT "Zushi-Koyama", those trains head west, away from central Tokyo. If that sound too complicated, just approach the information counters in the terminal, the staff should be able to help you.
@harblife
@harblife 8 месяцев назад
Ah true! I was trying to generalize for east side for simplicity, but you bring up a good point that keikyu will go through all those stops too. Looking it up now, it seems they are about the exact same time, but Keikyu offers a little more convenience since you don't have to transfer. Thanks for sharing and I appreciate that fact check!
@atsaichu
@atsaichu 8 месяцев назад
@@harblife You should add this important info to the video or do an update. Keikyu-Toei Asakusa thru service is very convenient. I always choose to stay near Asakusa Line at either the beginning or the end or both of my trip so I know I can have easy access to and from Haneda Airport. Actually applies to Narita/Keisei Line too but that's maybe off topic.

I recommend the Royal Park inside Haneda airport. Great option if you are only staying in Tokyo a few days and you are right at the airport when you are ready to leave and you are right at the train stations as well.

Hi there! Thank you for the video. I will arrive on a domestic flight at Haneda at 1pm and then take an international flight out of Narita on the next day at 6pm. Can you suggest a good location for me to stay so that it's convenient for both airports? I would like to spend a little time exploring Tokyo between the flights. Thank you again.

I used the Airport Limo to get to Haneda from Akihabara and don't be fooled by seeing that overhead storage it's really tiny and didn't fit my backpack or small carry on bag and its the same with under seat storage. I did enjoy the ride though and the driver was very good and, even though it said 2 pieces of luggage without buying an extra bag, allowed my small carry on to go under the bus with my two big bags I was checking at the airport. Booking was super easy and straight forward on their website, my hotel was even nice enough to offer a time table with link to their page and I booked my ticket pretty much 2 days before I checked out and easily got a seat. I wish I'd used Yamoto to ship my large bags to the airport so I wouldn't have had to stress with the coin lockers while waiting for my airline to open and being checking bags. I also didn't know, till I was there that i had to use my IC card to get from terminal to terminal as I was used to the free ones in the states that take you being terminals.

I would fly to Haneda with it being closer to Tokyo but for me travelling from N.E England Via Dubai the difference in price compared to Narita is huge, not sure why but it'll have to be Narita for the time being.
@lauchzelot2482

I think nobody would fly to Narita if it wasn't cheaper😂 They probably just don't want Haneda to overcrowd

My personal preference is the limousine bus, but that's because I've got large bags. That failing the monorail is a great alternative because of the baggage racks.
@amyr3285
@amyr3285 5 месяцев назад
Where can you get the monorail? Is that in Haneda or Narita? I will probably struggle with one medium sized bag because of knee surgery.
@dariusq8894
@dariusq8894 5 месяцев назад
@@amyr3285 Yes, both the monorail and limousine bus are available from Haneda. Haneda is also closer to Tokyo, so the commute is shorter. If you are having trouble managing, consider using the luggage transport services which can deliver your suitcases directly to your hotel. These will be easily accessible from either airport. The name of the company is Yamato, and it has a black & yellow logo with a mama cat carrying a baby cat.

Keisei Skyliner is the fastest option, connecting Narita Airport to Ueno and Nippori stations on the Yamanote Line. The Narita Express is good if you're heading to Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Yokohama, Omiya and other places around central Tokyo. There a budget bus that heads to Tokyo Station too, along with other bus lines that go all over central Tokyo, It really depends where you are heading first.

What phone do you recommend to have while in Tokyo? Do you really need a sim card? I don't think my iPhone has a SIM card but I may be wrong (I got the phone from my daughter), however I am due for a new phone. IS there a gadget you absolutely need for WIFI while walking around so as not to get lost?

How is the crowd on the train with luggage?
@atsaichu
@atsaichu 8 месяцев назад
If you are going to Tokyo from Haneda on the Keikyu Line, you don't really need to worry about that since Terminal 3 (formerly International Terminal) is the 2nd stop after T1-2 Station. It's less likely to be really crowded, at the beginning at least. But if traveling to Haneda, general rule is to avoid rush hours, especially 7 to 9-ish in the morning. Actually, you should probably avoid traveling with luggage by train to anywhere during morning rush hour. 🙂

The cards never stopped working but you just can’t get a new card. You can get a tourist pasmo passport. I just got back from Japan a few days ago. You go to the 2nd floor at the train station terminal 3 at the airport Haneda and show them your passport pay 500 yen and you get a pasmo passport that is good for 28 days and money on it is non refundable. You get automatic 1500 yen on the card. You can charge the card at the station or at the 7/11s
