2:54 probaly one of the best way to get rid of this habit if your a solo player is fighting a squibbo without cheese just parry trade a squibbo sometimes the squibbo will delay his m1 that way there’s no way you can predict it
Wow, playing lots of matches against players better than you really does seem like the best way to learn. It would be a shame if there were some system in place solely to discourage people from doing that...
@@CrengTab Yeah, a beginner is gonna go into Chime, get matched up with a guy whose been playing for 5 months nonstop, and win? The beginner's gonna get sent to depths in 4 minutes 💀
Only tip I have is that people should play the battle royale. It allows you to use, and fight, against a large variety of different weapons, mantras, and oaths. You get into many "unfair" fights, whether it's location, build RNG, or teaming etc. The fights are constant, which means you don't need to spend hours creating a build to just gank people in overworld or attempt chime matches, and risk wiping a slot repeatedly.
Have you noticed other players in the comp scene have stopped reacting? Like they'll just sit there without parrying in reaction to your first attack and then parry your second attack. If you question them about it they'll respond with, "I'm predicting your feint," which never made sense to me because if they were predicting your feint, wouldn't they just swing through instead of sitting there? Just something I noticed a lot of top 250s doing recently and I don't know what caused this brain rot playstyle of being unresponsive.
An example I can give is that I was fighting this one top 250 kyrswinter and I fully killed him and won the match to just using raw mantras after I parried him. It's not even that he wasn't trying to react, he literally couldn't. Feels like the quality of a lot of the top 250 chime players has gone down and it weirdly enough makes them harder to fight due to it being hard to mix up someone who isn't even reacting to the mix up. Feels sort of luck based when fighting some of these people because they'll just press F whenever they feel like it. This leaves you in a situation where you just have to guess instead of applying pressure through a complicated feint or a series of movements.
@@ImGilbertfeints werent punishable for like 1 month or more ever since the swingspeed 'revamp' which is why some people would just wait for your feint instead of m1ing skill level of t250 did go down (tho its not an achievement in the first place) since nobody plays chime seriously anymore other than cheesers with most of comp being inactive
1 problem i have with "playing when its my turn" is that since everyone runs hold m1 when I feint they ALWAYS swing through it, I guess this is because they never have to let go of m1 for some reason.
Use mixups, if your feinting purely to use m1 and to make them roll into nothing thats your fault for getting hit. Also dont play as predictavily so they cant swinh thru
From what I've seen from PVP in this game is that it's the same as Dark Souls PVP (Not Elden Ring more specifically Dark Souls 1 as that is more to being skill vs skill despite how janky it REALLY is.) Ping mattered the most for backstabbing opponents and just landing hits in general (big rabbit hole on that because DS1 was peer 2 peer connection) Every build aimed to one shot or do as much damage as possible in one swing. Similar to how DW builds tend to be in all honesty. Knowing how to use your build equally important to the fight itself. Knowledge is also everything when fighting someone especially if their build is really cheesy. Sorry for the ramble, the video is 10/10 explanation. Genuinely reminds me of old Dark Souls PVP days.
another thing is when you do lose don’t rage or let it take over you, everyone has lost a fight once and the best thing to do afterwards is summarize how you might’ve lost to them and learn from that mistake
As day one Deepwoken it is not you can be mage, silentheart, or savant build. The only thing that matters is your playstyle and its only two. Aggressive or Passive which really determines how you play your build and if you could consistently change playstyle you can use every build that exist. I currently have 3 Silenthearts, 2 Mage build, 5 Savant build, and 8 Mediocre build (Normal one attunement/attunementless build). And I still get 1100+ Elos
I wish this was possible but you can’t even practice on one build because of the skull system it’s not hard to take 2 losses in a row or even 3 in any fighting game or fighting system and when you escape depths it’s like a 20 minute process to have the chance to play another game and get sent to depths again if Deepwoken removed skulls players would be significantly better at the game
@@Angelm-le7lw overworld sparing doesn’t give you as much real experience as chime as the incentive to win isn’t there due to a lack of elo system. you get better when you play your best, in friendlies there is no elo or reputational threat so you play worse, also people don’t get on the game just because you want to be on the game , if chime didn’t have skulls you would be able to practice pvp whenever you wanted according to your schedule in comparison to having to be online at the same time as your bros, also your friends could be worse than you limiting your improvement, chime is usually similar skill due to elo unless it’s right after a reset.
@@Angelm-le7lw chime makes you fight against a lot of different builds my friends usually run like 3 different builds and they all have the same playstyle throughout those builds
this was very helpful also ik no one cares but im just writing this down to help myself acknowledge it more concretely i realize now the main reason i am struggling to improve from mid 800s elo is probably the following 5 things (aside from my shitty spectrum wifi spikes) 1. i tilt way too easily - in real life i hardly ever get angry about anything and am generally very calm. because of this it was hard for me to realize i was tilting super hard whenever i lost which exasperated the following issues to a massive degree 2. i play too aggressively and very stupidly (probably the main issue) - whenever i get hit i tend to vent and try to immediately land an aerial into a very high damage block breaking mantra and then try to do a combo immediately and as a result i lose focus on my defense almost immediately after i get hit all the time, and i also tend to immediately vent again if i miss a vent when getting comboed rather than trying to just block parry dodge like an intelligent human being. on top of that i vent too much in general. 3. i do not take the time to learn how to utilize all the tools in my kits - i would consider myself to be a pretty decent builder in general but i do not know a lot about specific things about certain mantras because i learned most of my knowledge from other people who are already very good at building (i be in the deepwoken builder discord) and when i do not immediately understand how to use something i tend to stop using it entirely and it just rots in my hotbar (this specifically happens the most for me with gaze, revenge, and exhaustion strike) 4. i do not take the time to learn the best ways to utilize my builds - usually what happens is i prog a build, go in chime play like 15 matches and lose 10 of them, tilt super hard when i get sent to the depths, and then wipe to a group of depths gankers, broodlords, and squibbos and then go back to the silentheart coral cestus build that i use for a wide range of activites. i have a very strong jetstriker medium attunementless build i want to make my main build but i wiped in the previously described scenario after perma ignoring 2 of the mantras in reason 3 that i had on the build and now i have to reprog it 5. i play on a shitty ass old macbook air - i got a job recently and will be buying the starforge systems navigator pro so this will not be an issue for long.
Nogo I just want you to know that you're the GOAT. Out of all the people in the competitive community in deep you were the one of the only ones not to be toxic and gatekeep, but decided to help others and the newer players that want to get better.
@@r37r09 YES, Finally, now we have some decent ping!!! around 30 - 120, im still getting used to it since now my reaction time dont need to be that fast anymore
So what I'm hearing here is "don't lag". Well I failed that step. Every server I get in chime is on the opposite side on the US, so not much I can do in 100-150 ping.
My secret? I’m always tilted. Halfway through the fight I will inevitably start to play like a toddler on mortal kombat and my button mashing will either cause me to win spectacularly or be absolutely destroyed.
Not saying this cuz i have a huge ego or anything, but i am the best player in my guild and practice against my guildmates doesnt do much for me. I dont want to switch guilds because its the guild i made with friends when deepwoken first released.
"*You* lose because of *skill*, not *builds*." Me matching up against a mage fire gun eruption path with crystallization (I am going to get zoned and eventually match up with this guy 2 other times after losing each match)
im making a build thats ment to land heavy cheasy hits but it forces me to learn how to parry trade at the same time to get better with it. hope it works out for me
I used to play with shatterpoint and he taught me about air rolling and pre parrying and i lost those havbits i became was better i can say that learning to react instead is way way better
Would you say if im on 100 ping would it be possible to get top 50? I have gotten top 250 before but i don't know about top 50 because i know everyone in eu is rlly good
Nogo is it truly over for me (since I have started playing since last year, I thought I was just a permafreshie, but it turns out I just have been averaging 150-400 ping)
I would recommend that roblox get real servers that can reach further than their front lawn (50gb download speed but because I am in Canada I can never get beyond 3 bars)
uhh nogo i have a slight problem my ping sucks cuz i live in the middle of the ocean do i tell my parents we need to move so i can get better ping in a roblox game?
if i constantly have 130-200 ping should i use ping compensation or like switch to predict parry? cuz sometimes the attacks just teleport and i get hit frame 1 when i try to react
I always ask elo from the players that beat me. More than half are higher so it's almost always an uphill fight for me. But it's never by a little bit, it usually always by a lot. Almost always a 100-200 elo gap. I'm 700-800.
@@nogo ive got another question how do i counter people if i attack - they parry; if i feint - they dodge i double feint - you could say tap dancer is base-kit now, could include dodge talents this just confuses me it really looks like having a counter move is a requirement and im not that type of a guy to do so
@@krowiak535 nogo will probably have something better to say than me but i think the way you'd counter people is by feinting into a move like twister kicks or rapid punches where they are forced to block. Then when they're forced to block, try and load up their posture as much as possible (or use chip damage) another thing people may fail to realize is that for the situation to end up like how you described every single time, your opponent would have to play PERFECTLY each time they are parried
@@krowiak535 any mantra that you cant completely with a single roll. Shadow eruption, master’s flourish, shadow chains, fleeting sparks and rising frost are good examples of this
bro showed clips of clearly missing their parry and dodging while still in block frames (apparently its just delay and not them missing their parry and being punished for it)
I live in canada and will never understand how they got no mf servers for us but got servers in like the depths of india and france that only like 6 people use at a time.
