honestly i think the solution is to call them "unique" weapons instead of legendary weapons. Reserve the term legendary weapon for things that aren't just unique or powerful but actually RARE.
The og legendaries feel so cool, whenever I find a curved or use a curved, it still gives me that dopamine rush, but with these new ones instead of "OH MY GOD I FOUND A CRYPT BLADE" it's "oh look, I found this random legendary that's cool"
Man i remember when there wasnt that many tho the main one were crypt curved and railblade those were the ones you would see the "pros" using. old deep was way better than it is now ngl
@@pegasusrr3156curved blade of winds and crypt blade and enchants (letalone good ones) were basically unobtainable on deepwoken release until they upped rates in depths chests, increased enchant rate till it became what it currently is now (around tenfold) did the same thing with depths chests for legendary weapons, added layer 2 floor 2 and finally diluvian as the final nail in the coffin to turn a one in a million piece of equipment into halloween candy
I think the 'legendary weapon' is now more for the unenchantable status, not the rarity. Mostly caused by enchant stone now being super easy to get. I think devs should add something that replaces the legendary weapon in terms of rarity, such as relics.
TBH the last legendary weapon I want before they STOP DOING THIS SHIT EVERY SINGLE WEEK is an Ironsing weapon. IT COULD BE COOL (maybe a quest involving the ignition Union on the Depths and having to solve some issue for them) The one thing I REALLY want to see atp is a PVE centric update. Conquest is PVP so eh idgaf, but damn i just wanna, ya know, fight a new cool boss like Maestro and get cool new shit like the monastery robes. The Mudskipper brute was cool to see but it's such a mediocre enemy that only is scary if you're in a voidzone / depths and somehow a broodlord manages to reach you, and even then they have the exact same patterns as Sharkos except slightly faster.
Ok to be fair they’ve been adding elemental legendaries so that it even outs to 2 per attunement. The latest moon eye stuff is a weird break but probably expect 2 more attunement legendaries (lightning and iron)
i like the new obtainment methods, locking them behind "do this but like 100 times and hope you get it" makes it rare sure but i feel like the unique quests make them feel more unique also sudarunska is NOT a demigod bro what were you on its legit just some woman who really disliked the ministry and put her soul into her greataxe also imo pleetsky quest wouldve been fine as long as it was in the surface, having to wipe a build js because you dont know the reqs basically just pushes people into searching it up since nobody wants to wipe multiple builds
im ngl… “do this but like 100 times and hope you get it” is legit the same thing for old legendaries. farm hell mode depths chests ethiron. what i dont like is the events itself being rng, pleetskys inferno was a good addition in thaf
I've brought up to arch in conversation that what made the original legendaries so cool was their special on hit ability. Now that most weapons have their personal crit the new legendaries are just a cooler looking base weapon. Goes without saying we didnt see eye to eye on that one.
Mfs when it isn't a complete grindfest to get legendaries. They should remove legendaries from RNG pools entirely and make them all have purple cloud style quests for obtaining. It's not fun and not interesting to just grind the same dumbass boss again and again.
You know things like the wraithclaw were rushed / plopped in the game when the npc for it dosent even have any textures. Me and a buddy took a decent look at the character and they were just a base-plate with some in game items slapped on them. No face or anything.
i honestly just would like a sort of singleplayer tpye-ish mode, like how fun is it ti be grinding and you finally get what you wanted and then 3 guys decide you've had enough fun and absolutely murder you, you can say it's just part of the game but things like that are straight unfair and only reduce the player experience, since most freshies would do the singleplayer it's also give them a good reason to finally rework voidwalker, people that want to do pvp can go do that, and people that dont want to do so can do the singleplayer mode, you can even make them have seperate characters for the modes so you can't just grind in singleplayer and wreck others in multiplayer, it's just not fun
They should really just launch a weekly that no longer lets players pass down "legendary weapons" and bring back the specialness of it. Even making them less common wouldn't be an issue in my eyes, especially if they're more geared towards the quest obtainment which I enjoy much more than the mindless grind it was before
The craziest bit is with the newest flame legendaries. The pyre keeper is designed like dog sh*t they had to redesign it so that it didnt look like it came from blade ball, not to mention its more gimmicky and overdesigned than a deviantart mary sue mlp oc. Then you got the pleekstys inferno, really good designed, a little underpowered at release, and unique with how it functions, but not overwhelming and brings a new playstyle into the game.
I thought the last few weekly updates just being legendary weapons would be fine because, it just seemed like it was a new legendary for every attunement as the weeks went by but with a questline to unlock them instead of just getting lucky. Then the gale weapon didn't have a questline and was just an event you had to get lucky for, and then we got a legendary weapon for medium, and that was kind of when I felt like it was oversaturated, Before these things it felt like a response to the people who were complaining about the grind to get a good legendary weapon by making a guarenteed way to get one for each attunement if you knew how and were good enough, while also adding some lore, but now it just feels like they're doing it just to do it
"kinda like how you dont need a max hp kit" yes you do, you quite literally do, your build will have min. 450 hp if you have decent cards and that is horrible in the current day and era because of how unbalanced this game is but that's another issue with the game, it's like type soul, you can't play type soul without all the boss accessories because everyone is too tanky same goes for deep, you'll just die in 4 mantras to a cheese build if you don't have more than 525+ hp W video either way, I also think you should cover how hp kits are needed even out of chime
yeah and this goes back into how chime is over prioritized, yoiu dont need max HP mfor regular deepwoken its only really required for chime meta, as for type soul it doesnt really make a diferencde for me either since I dont even have max HP and im like 150 short and still have 1 loss in ranked
@@Reaconteur hp is still really needed for pve, especially if you mainly do deluvian, deluvian mobs do a LOT of damage and monster armor isnt the solution either, why do i have to farm a completely seperate stat to get what i want godroll kits are insanely needed outside of everything, but yeah youre right as its mostly for pvp that its needed for but still, why do i have to have a godroll kit to actually fight a ice hero blade saltchemist build cheese
i remember when it took me days of depths grinding just to get my first curved blade like two years ago(before verse 2 dropped) and now it's so common from layer 2 and maestro that whenever i see one the initial rush of like "OMG A CURVED BLADE NO WAY" is now replaced with "oh, a curved blade 😐"
I remember when getting a gran sudaruska, a curved blade of winds, or a crypt blade filled me with so much dopemine that I'd pop. But getting them now feels too easy and less rewarding.
you gotta make a vid on how basing balancing purely on chime has ruined pvp ganks are literally unplayable because of the sheer amount of cheese that exists and it never gets nerfed unless agamatsu gets a random dm about one of the 50 meta cheese builds
Its a fallacy made by developpers to entertain kids that want to feel special its in basically every game look at type soul and basically every anime game ever
One thing i defo miss is verse 1 aesthetics, it felt more like elden ring with everyone having just normal swords spears etc, now its very neon which is also cool but its missin that charm
Bro the devs add a bunch of cool fun new weapons a bunch of the like them like the rapier, the ice spear or the peestkys weapons that have a whole quest and you still complain like dam be grateful, not to mention we needed a legendary spear and rapier.
extremely controversial take but they should just put a hard stop to it, they could do literally anything like make it to where you can't pass them down, make rarities rarer than verse 1 rarities. even then i don't think it can be saved without a soft data wipe or something but thats not happening
pyrekeeper is why you shouldn't let fino cook, instead get the guy who made pleeksty's inferno and the kyrswynter, the quests for those are cool and the weapons are pretty balanced
In my opinion, I don't mind them being rare if there's actually a defined way to get them. Because for stuff like Wraithclaw for example, there's just no actual technique to get it, you just run around begging for the event to spawn.
i mean legendaries arent really meta you can still make pretty nice builds just with a normal weapon but also enchants have this issue theres just too much enchants that are useless while theres few that are the meta and everyone goes for them
lowkey they should do a full reset on all meta hp dvm phys and legendary weapons and enchanted weapons then make them all hard to get with a long quest connected to a faction that fits it corresponding attunement call it verse 2.5 full gamewide wipe
Take the old legendaries like crypt blade and curved Add some new legendaries that feel similar to them Call them Relic Weapons Give them a quest on par with Pleeksty's Inferno Remove pyrekeeper from the game (i hate that weapon so much)
getting the kyrswynter was the easiest quest ive ever done in deepwoken, and its a legendary weapon. Like the quest was cool but i was actually surprised at how easy it was
To be entirely fair if youre starting as a freshie that quest would probably be one of the last things youd do in your pve experience. On the other hand any of the other new legendaries are mostly random chance.
I just want attunement path exclusive legendaries Like an ancient mummy's shamshir for twisted puppets path Or a kaboom hammer for eruption path Or a gilded ironsing greatspear for the scrap path
I'm not gonna hate on u bc ngl every person I void walk has a legendary weapon but in my opinion that doesn't mean that legendries aren't really legendary bc a lot of people cant do the diluv and I think its fair that dliuv gives such good loot bc of the risks. but i do agree with the deepwoken devs focusing more on the pvp community more than the pve.
Honestly an idea of mine for legendary weapons is, and this is for hero blades too. There's only 1 in the entirety of Deepwoken, this would allow the devs to basically hella buff the weapons and I mean godlike buff. Make them more lore accurate, there could be global messages on when one was found saying like "A new legend has been born" Since there are so many legendary weapons the grind for these weapons wouldn't be "Lets all get pyre keeper" I think it would be spread out more. To keep people from hogging the weapons the weapons would go back to being droppable if the player with it is killed. This would bring a lot more ganks and wars to Deepwoken and maybe even more benefits to having allied guilds. Having everybody run around with a weapon that has 5 crits compared to your mediocre weapon that has 1, It's kind of unfair, ESPECIALLY when you're ganked by more then one player at a time with a pyre keeper, this can cause a lot of problems and unfairness. I also think this could be a good idea and could buy them more time to work on every weapon individually and give it a unique crit or gag. I definitely think this idea will upset a lot of people but its just the fact that legendary weapons don't feel legendary to me because everybody has them. You really don't feel like the chosen one, and for those who go up against you, its gonna be pretty one sided, especially if you're running something like Pyre Keeper. The only problem I'd see with this legendary thing is if you ran into a Voidwalker with a legendary or if you run into somebody in chime with a lore accurate Gran Sudaruska. But chime skulls aren't a thing anymore but I have nothing to say on elo, that's just me being at a miscalculation, but It's probably gonna be very unlikely that someone is going to Voidwalk you (A power 10 in this case) and have a Legendary weapon. That's only a problem nowadays because people just store Legendary weapons and use it on their new build, making most Voidwalker ganks very unfair. Most people using these Legendary weapons are probably going to be max power and won't have any reasoning for Voidwalking anyways. But yea that's kinda my take on things.
90% of the current deepwoken weapons are just reskins, thats why everyone goes legendary weapons, there is not actual point in going a mid-tier weapon unless you're a genuine sweat, I think this idea would bring A LOT of the old deepwoken back from ganks to wars to more variety in builds instead of seeing the same 5 builds. And it would give the devs time to turn all these reskins into viable weapons that would actually stand a chance.
B-But Physical Damage Resistance:27%!!!!! This is too peak!!! Physical Damage Resistance:27% this is TOO much for your fanbase... please give us mercy, Physical Damage Resistance:27%.
i love being a moronic idiot who is like 1 month out of the permafreshie phase and no legendaries other than hero blades cuz of my relatively solid PvE build. im simply too lazy to use said build for farming for legendary weapons, mostly because i dont really play deep very much.
im preety convinced you guys just wanna spend 20 hours mindlessly doing the same exact thing just for 1 sword. i like them being common bcs in the end of the day deepwoken is permadeath and you might lose the weapon after you die.
That’s one reason but more so is that it’s incredibly boring and tedious, and just completely wastes the player’s time (remember stormseye on its release) and the whole build diversity argument is only a problem because of the actual balancing behind the weapons, not the rarity. If it was rare it would be exactly the same except now only a people would have the chance to use an entire weapon.
@@cat_agentrealThats just not true. First, he literally asked for more questlines, not braindead farming. He just wants them to be actually challenging and fleshed out with lore (Pleekstys Inferno did well with the lore/questline but was too easy). Also, rarity SIGNIFICANTLY affects build diversity. Imagine Deepspindle (Top tier weapon) play rates if it was as easy to get as Kyrswinter. Do you know how many people complain about spending hours and never getting it? You have to be restarted to say rarity doesn't matter and it's just viability. Look at old Curved. It was broken on release, but how come you didn't see it? BECAUSE it was rare. "If it was rare it would be exactly the same except now only a people would have the chance to use an entire weapon." First, get autocorrect, you clearly need it with that atrocious writing. Second, you literally contradicted yourself. If less people are able to use the weapon cuz it's rare, it is NOT the same idiot. If every Legendary was release Crypt Blade rarity, I guarantee build diversity would be dramatically better.
@@Sc5ch I wasn’t saying reacounter asked for more grind, I was saying the horrible downsides to making them just straight up rare, and refuting the whole build diversity argument a lot of people who just want them to decrease the drop chance of legendaries. I completely agree with giving them quests for obtainment, and never said that reacounter wanted more grind or even mentioned him once in my reply
@@Sc5ch also I didn’t say rarity doesn’t matter. And build diversity *is* a balance issue. Artificially increasing build diversity by making the really stupid powerful new weapon rare is not the right approach, making them balanced is. If people still only want to use the legendaries then so be it, but making them stupidly rare just makes it annoying
@@Sc5ch “get autocorrect” I’m literally typing this on a phone, it has autocorrect on by default, and there was a single typo (missing word), and absolutely nothing else wrong with the sentence lmao. 2. Forcing build diversity by making the op weapon rare isn’t the right approach. The weapon stays unbalanced (arguably for longer since it’s so rare most people don’t see the full extent of its strength) and anyone who gets it will use it without a doubt, not just because it’s rare, but because it’s also op. The only difference is builds are “more diverse” but that’s only because it’s forced.
