Now that many of us are beginning to #travelagain, uur National Parks are a excellent (and POPULAR) way to get out of the house. Yes, crowds, traffic jams, and closures have made visiting our parks a bit more of a hassle, but that doesn't mean that the longest cave in the world has the longest lines in the NPS!
Join us in Kentucky as we check out Mammoth Cave National Park on one of the busiest days of the year (did you take a trip on Labor Day?!) as we find out how where the crowds are (hint, NOT inside Churchill Downs for the 2020 Kentucky Derby) and how to game the system to make sure you can experience your National Parks with limited lines, waiting, and parking headaches.
Along our way, we'll check out a few other Kentucky favorites during what might have been the busiest tourism day EVER (in 2020, the Kentucky Derby coincided with Labor Day weekend!). Bourbon tasting on Lexington's Whiskey Trail, rock jumping in Red River Gorge Geological Area, and free camping in both Daniel Boone and Hoosier National Forests. And even though there were NO spectators inside, we had to make a quick stop by Churchill Downs for derby day.
