Look, as shallow as it might sound, your Instagram AESTHETIC can truly be what makes or breaks your follower gains.
From the style of your Instagram captions to the Instagram fonts that you use in your Instagram bio to your Instagram stories and the Instagram fonts that you use there.
There is a TON to cover on this topic, so let’s start with the GOODS. First and foremost - let’s discuss your face, your Instagram profile pic
You need a clickable Instagram profile pic. Instagram stories have taken over our Instagram feed in order to keep us fed with bite-sized content. The way that we view them is by tapping on your Instagram profile pic!
Having a bold, clickable Instagram profile pic. Doesn’t just mean more story views, even if they don’t tap on your Profile or Instagram Story, you’re still in Prime Real Estate for subliminal marketing.

2 - INSTAGRAM SEARCH
Did you know that there is an Instagram Search? Did you know that your Instagram bio and Instagram usernames / Instagram handle are critical for getting exposure like free Instagram views? Don’t worry - I’ll show you how to change your name on Instagram and give you Instagram bio ideas
Your Instagram NAME is the BOLD text that is below your posts/followers and before your BIO.
What a lot of people don’t know is that you can be found in the search, from the keywords that you use in your name.
Putting something like “Travel Photographer” in your name gives you a chance to appear to strangers or people who follow mutual creators, that were searching for travel accounts. Not only that, but it establishes your field of expertise to all newcomers and reassures them that you are an established professional - it’s in BOLD.

3 - INSTAGRAM FEATURES
Instagram favors NEW FEATURES. It’s very obvious, and it should definitely be that way - they want to stay ahead of the competition of TikTok and formerly, Snapchat. It really wasn’t THAT long ago that Instagram acquired STORIES - and to be honest, it seemed like most people didn’t think that Instagram Stories weren’t going to last. More recently, as you know - they have launched Instagram REELs, to compete with Tiktok.
Remember, I thought REELs were a joke at first - until I gained over 80 thousand followers in 5 months on my personal Instagram. I could have EASILY not posted my first reel, it was actually difficult for me to break my style of content - but it gave me immense freedom.
I but we’ve also broken down how to make Xcompelling reels in another video - so let’s discuss the OTHER features that YOU’VE probably overlooked.
CAROUSELS - I would say that the majority of people, and creators that I know - DO NOT USE THIS ENOUGH.
Now I know, it may sound silly to post multiple photos at once but HEAR ME OUT.
Looking at my Analytics, my Carousels get EXPONENTIALLY more impressions from the HOME page, and as you grow - these numbers grow!
On top of that, remember how much of a BUST IGTV was? or how many people used to go LIVE when Instagram LIVE came out and then completely fell off? It’s very easy to become discouraged from using these features, but they are very important!
AVOID SELF SABOTAGE
Not only does the algorithm LOVE diversity in content, but having a variety can help avoid you suffocating your own posts! For instance, if you post a Reel, and then a day or two later you Video and then a day or two later you post a Photo - those don’t really compete with each other because they’re in a different category of Real Estate.
So posting different types of content allows you to keep Instagram happy by using all of their features, but also keeps your posts alive and thriving!
