Hey, You should apply at least a month in advance. On most occasions it takes 7-10 days for visa stamping, but it has been taking about 3-4 weeks at some consulates in India. You will need either 3 years ITR personal and business tax forms, or if the company is less than a year old then company registration details. Along with other requirements i mentioned in this video. Japanese is necessary for business, especially small business, I recommend using a tourist visa if you want to understand the market by visiting. English in business setting is non-existent. Just give a fully refundable hotel booking, and later cancel it after you get your tourist visa. And if your friend is your guarantor or inviting you, then you don’t need hotel booking, you can tell them you will stay at his/her house and provide that address. And just apply for a normal tourist visa with all the documents, and they will give you the visa.

There is a slightly different process for tourist visa if your friend wants to be your guarantor. It is mentioned on embassy/vfs website. Otherwise just don’t mention your friend and do a dummy booking or an actual booking because hotels are cheap in advance.

There’s a sponsor/inviter form on japan embassy website.. if you read up, it’ll give you directions as to what your brother has to do in Tokyo to invite you. That process is slightly different, you will need his support letter saying he will cover your expenses etc. and in place of hotel put his address. Make sure you mention your return date and tickets information since embassy would want to make sure you go only for tourism and come back. So be clear and concise with explaining that. Everything else is same, so check the jpn embassy website for guarantor information.

You don’t need a ticket anymore, just name the airline, Japan Airlines or ANA. And write your estimated date of departure and date of return. You will need hotel bookings for all those days, that you must print in your file that you take to vfs.

No you can just apply for short term tourist visa and explain in your cover letter that you are a buddhist monk or student and want to visit different shrines or temples or whatever your reason for visit is, don’t lie in your application. If you are going for religious work, then there’s a different religious visa for priests, monk etc who will lead prayers at temple and the process is different than tourist visa. Your temple/shrine administrator in japan and/or india will need to sponsor your japan religious visa
