Exactly my thoughts when I first heard this…nailed that 80s Clapton tone. Love this song…so fun to play and even improvise solos over. Great job breaking this down.
Sounds great & enjoyed the more technical aspect of it. It’s not always the “notes”, as any guitar worth his salt would know! Good clean “Clapton”, sound man! I’m a Dobro player, “retired”, now days but played a lot of regular guitar back in the day. These days it’s all acoustic Bourgeois Vintage D & my Gibson “Douglas”, Model Dobro w/Acoustisonic Jr (Fender), and my custom “Rayco”, made by Mark Thibault (X-Luthier from Larivee Guitars). You’ve got a great sound & real beautiful control, not overwhelming control, just right! I’ve played for 40yrs?? I’ve had a few in my hands. My guitar player in my band (back in the day), hand the “Litter-Mate”, to Tony Rice’s 1981 Santa Cruz. He got it off Steve Carlton who had Santa Cruz save the blanks used to make Tony’s 1st Cruz then about 10yrs+ later he had it made. My buddy could make that axe sing!!! Real Brazilian Rosewood! What’s he do? He sells it! Lol Anyway really, really enjoyed the video as my oldest son is a “John Mayer”, fan like I was to Tony Rice & Jerry Douglas! Keep em’ comin’ man! Great stuff!!!! 5-Stars!!
