Love all these videos! They are so helpful! I was wondering if maybe you guys can do a video on ideas on how to work with your horse when you don't have a saddle to ride in. Im riding in a bareback pad and just kind of trying my best lol while I wait for my new saddle that is the right fit. But it won't come til August at the earliest. :( So any advice would be appreciated!! Thank you!

Thing is (as a shorty) - finding a dressage saddle that supports this vertical, balanced position is the real challenge (on an ordinary budget). Kneblocks too long, puts you in a chair seat, the feeling of "all saddle and leather and NO horse on the inside from of your leg from yours thighs to your calves" etc. It is a problem fitting a saddle to the horse that also fits the short legged rider.

I’m 6’1 and I struggle with keeping my legs long so I can sit in the saddle correctly. I scrunch up my legs to apply leg pressure which brings my heal up and in turn throws off my center of balance in the saddle and then it throws my weight out of the saddle. 😅😂

I’m only recently getting back into riding and I’m riding in a dressage saddle, therefore trying to ride with long stirrups, it’s not possible to have short stirrups because of the knee blocks.. and I’m finding that my knees are really hurting. Even sometimes my feet hurt ! Why is this?

Hi there! Super question! With this it could be a number of things, it would be best if you could send us a picture or short video where I can see your position in the saddle and help you. Email us at hello@dressageinstitute.com
