Thanks for making this video. I'm about to get married, and I was so confused about what documents I need, how to get them translated, what the heck apostille is, everything. This cleared everything up, although it brought up another question that she's gonna have to clear up with the notary. I can send her the documents, but it'd be hard to be there in person before the wedding, so hopefully I don't need to be there until it's go time. Thanks again for the video

Thanks bro, I appreciate it 💪🏾. My situation with my wife was a bit different due to convid had shutdown the government. So it took 2 years for the process to go through. Before covid, it would take about 1 year.

After you get married, you're still required to apply for a visa for her to come to the USA. My wife took about 2 years due to Covid. I'm hearing the times have gotten better now.

Good info.for the mainland colombia. I heard from a buddy that all gringos need in San Andrea's is a valid passport but the woman still needs the same documents. Thank you

For San Andres, you will need to pay a tourist fee. Both gringos and Colombians has to pay for it.

Easiest way is you marry her. After that you petition her to come to the u.s takes up to two years until she can arrive though, but in the meantime you can live in Colombia all you want

Quick Question , is a K1 visa still needed after if you go through the Process of a Civil wedding (Marraige) in Colombia.

No, K1 allows your fiance to come into the US for the purpose of marriage. If you are already legally married through the process he just stated you then will need to apply for the marriage visa, and then green card. There is a processing period but these 2 applications can be filed simultaneously.

I guess im dense but im 'am confused about the 30 day allowance, is this for the actually age of the paper documents, or the notary, or the apostilled or all of the above? I already kind of jump the gun with the relationship affidavit, and I 'am using a service to translate my birth certificate and notarize it.....problem may be im 3 months out from when we plan to marry, would you clarify for me my friend and thank you....I will add to get my birth certificate from the state of california takes 2-3 months to get in the mail, I will only have 10 days in country btw which complicates this alot I guess lol

Colombia change their requirements per notoria, however, you will need your soon to be wide chose which one she feels comfortable with and to confirm if the documents requirements has changed. Just recently I knkw someone whol got married last year and it was still valid but he did it in Cartagena

make sure to pull all our documents together. Then get them translated. After you get them translated is when you get them notarized and apostille. That is the order I did it in.

@@StillNikaien whoa, I've never heard of that. Which notoria are you going to? You might have to go to another one. Each notoria create their own sub rules. The first notoria we went to gave us the run around until we found a good on in Laureles Medellin.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I can only imagine that since they're following Colombia's rules in general, you will still need that affidavit of being single plus your passport and your birth certificate. If you were divorced at any point, you will need to bring that document as well. Ensure to get your documents translated and apostille.

The process for Americans is very easy. I have my cedula and a visa to stay there for a year. After 2 consecutive years, I'm able to apply for dual citizenship. For her, of course the process is long and rough. I'll release a video, in the near future, regarding getting a visa in Colombia.

I apologize for the delay, however, you both should be able to go to a notaria and apply for a wedding license. Make sure she has all of her paperwork and he child paperwork if she has one. Make sure you bring all of your documents as well. I would suggest going to Cartagena if she has issues in Medellin because CTG is a regular destination wedding location. Just have her start the process while she's in Medellin and you're in Miami. After you guys get married, you will have to start the visa process. The only issue you will have to deal with is she's in Colombia while being a Venezuelan citizen. You may need to reach out to a lawyer about that situation. I used Rapid Visa for my wife's visa.

@@TheSluggo080976 yea, most Notaria will request to have the documents within 30 days. However, try another Notaria if that one you're going to isn't helping out. Each Notaria does these a bit differently.

Yes, I have a lot to talk about on that subject. It isn't so simple and easy. It's time consuming. Just like from this video alone regarding gerring marriage is time consuming as it is. However, when you apply for her visa, it will cost some money and a lot of waiting. I used rapid visa, they do a good job of getting your documents in order to get you to the interview. The interview is on you.

However, have you done it or is it that you have heard horror stories? I think every man has their own situation they deal with. Not everyone is the same as all. The entire process from end to end including the document translation, you're looking around 250-400 dollars if I can remember. The biggest price tags would be the translated documents and bribing if you need to.
