I swear when the adobe Indesign dev team sat down to make the program, they all unanimously decided that they would try and make the page numbering system complicated and unintuitive as they possibly can.

acguevara It might be best to just get to the point. The important items to take away and explain: 1 - make sure the spread and shuffle checks are off 2 - choose the page you want to start pg numbering on 3 - type in the starting pg # IMPORTANT: if you already have a master page with the pg# on it... be sure to REAPPLY that master on one page in order for the updated numbering to show.... took me 30 mins of playing around to find this out!! Many thx....

What if you have multiple things on your Master page and you want to erase only the page number form a specific page? If you aply NONE on the Master all your info will be erased from the page. I heared that clicking ctrl+shift+delete on the current page will go off the number from the page, BUT what if I want to put it on again??? This is what I expected to see in your video, or in others, but nobody mention it...

Hello, thanks for the great video! I have 2 problems, that I hope you'll like to answer. 1. I used it on my pages, but can you change the numbering colours on the different sizes? 2. I have a lot of layers, and the pages are colored with colored boxes (because some are white and some are blue), so the layers lay over the numbers, therefore you cant se the page numbers. Do you know how I can fix this problem?

I keep this video in my Indesign video folder on YT! The only thing I think that was left out was to refresh the table of contents after you get your page numbering all set. Other than that, fantastic vid.

Did what you showed, and it worked just fine for my "A" master. When I got to the physical page 6, it was a "B" master ... and there, it held on to the physical page number. Tried what the video said, but no change -- so "A" master pages adjusted to my desired numbers (by not numbering "NONE" master pages at the beginning) but "B" masters held on to the actual page numbers.

is there any way to give numbers to spread ? I've created InDesign doc using facing pages (two pages makes one spread ) and I have to number the spreads not the pages. i tried creating master page but it is show 3,5,7... I want spreads to be numbered
