Finally a tutorial on how to improve audio with Audacity 3.6! By the way here are some timestamps to help you not waste your time cuz this is a really long and slow video: 4:06 Unedited (with some switching back and forths) 6:30 Normalise (when the actual tutorial starts) 6:46 Normalise peak amplitude to -3.0 dB 8:11 Noise reduction 8:27 Step 1 (Get noise profile) 9:07 Step 2 10:15 Filter curve EQ 10:37 Low rolloff for speech 11:26 Compressor 12:23 Compressor overview 13:01 Lead vocals 14:02 Normalise again 14:16 Outcome ('Audacity is a pee audio and editing software'?)
I’d seen your videos pop up before but never clicked because I thought it was AI like those videos ‘reviewing’ products lol. Wish you felt like you could use your own voice and face on your videos. Anyway thank you, very helpful :)
Thanks! :-) I have another channel with my own voice "Master Voice Editing". I have a thick subcontinental accent. From my interactions with my customers and audience, I found out the AI narration is easier for them to understand.
Yes because English is not his first language. He is Indian and he knows the racist Westerners would not listen to a man with an accent. So stop laughing and use the technique he’s told
Hi, great tutorial. Do you also teach how to enhance voice for meditation audios? Or sell plug-ins? I really need help with that, I record at my place and not a studio and I really want a more soft soft clear for meditation like I was recording at a studio. Thank you!
Acabo de descargarme la última versión de Audacity 3.6.4. Ya he trabajado con las anteriores. Subo a RU-vid audiolibros. Me ha gustado mucho su vídeo y se lo agradezco, pero ¿tiene pensado subir vídeos pero traducidos al español? Yo no entiendo inglés, aunque utilizo los subtítulos generados automáticamente, me es complicado seguir sus vídeos. Muchas gracias.
Hi, thanks for this tutorial. At now it's the one that gave me the best results. My voice isn't cut off anymore at the beginning of my sentences. On the other hand, after applying all the parameters, my voice picks often reach the red in the spector although everything is OK at the beginning. Do you know what I can do?
Red means it is crossing -3 dB or is it below that? If it does not cross -3 dB it is not a problem. However, the listening experience matters most. If you want to avoid getting in the redzone, you can apply Normalize with -4 or -5 dB at the last step
@@MasterEditor5 Sometimes it reaches -3. However, according to you, it's not so problematic so I'll let these parameters like they are. Thanks for answering me anyway.
The entire waveform just disappears at random in this recent update -- just a blank white space inside Audacity. The timeline still functions normally and the sound will still playback. This is extremely annoying, with the only option is to close and re-open Audacity. If anyone know how to remedy this, please let me know. I'm using Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon.
Danke sehr
3.6 was the first time I decided against using the new update. And, from what I see here, I will likely continue with the older version - 3.5. It's hard to explain, but it just feels different. It is slowing me down. I do not like the newer interface adjustments. That's just me, but when you get accustomed to an interface, a change can slow you down.
You are correct! It hampers workflow. However, Audacity is not well maintained for older versions of OS. They generally test new versions on the recent OS. So in future the older versions can become incompatible with the OS upgrade. I do not recommend upgrading Audacity in the middle of a running project. But once you get a window of experiment, upgrading will keep you in sync.
Great tutorial! Just wanted to send you a heads up about the PDF guide, btw.. Your link description says "Get the Free Sound Better PDF guide:" and when you click your link it takes you to a MailChimp page that states: "Simple 5 step guide for Better sound. Get the 5 simple steps to make your sound better in Audacity." and asks users to input their email address and name. Once they do, though, it signs people up for your email list. I'm not sure if you're aware but not plainly stating users are added to an email list, or allowing users to opt-in by choice, is a violation of the FTC's CAN-SPAM Act. They give out some seriously harsh fines (up to $51k per email/violation) to businesses that are found non-compliant with the CAN-SPAM laws. Just thought you should know. Best of luck!
Thank you very much for letting me know. I was not aware of this. However, I have the easily visible option to unsubscribe from the mailing list. I have now added a plain text about adding to the mailing list. Thanks again!
@@MasterEditor5 You are welcome! I work in digital marketing and PR so there are a TON of email lists, newsletters, pitches, updates, etc, every day.. I've always tried to stay on top of the regulations and laws regarding these things. Especially when mistakes can be costly for business owners. As you've fixed the newsletter page, you can delete my previous comment, if you like.
@@cyndyrella You can get it from my Patreon page. The link is also in the description and pinned comment: www.patreon.com/master_editor/shop/eqs-and-macro-pack-better-voice-in-1-189628
RU-vid has no issue of monetization with AI voice as long as your contents are original. If you just read a bunch of texts using AI, that is not monetizable. If you just put together some random stock videos and use AI voice, that may not pass the review due to reuse or repeat content policy. I make screen records and then I put my original narration, so it does not matter for RU-vid if I am using AI voice.
The program's interface turned out horrible, making the experience much harder for those who were already familiar with it. There is no way to see if the track is in 44100hz, and it no longer shows how many bits the track is. They ruined the program's interface; it became very cheap and poorly done. Horrible. I went back to version 6.5.
@@luisariastierra Thanks for trying to understand. The accent and tone are the main reason. It actually takes more time to make these videos with AI voice. If I used my own voice, then I would record and will be done. But now I had to record the audio and video separately and then had to edit them together. Once again, thanks for taking the time to understand.
