Us cyclists often get mocked for our small arms, but when it comes to it we tend to know a thing or two about having powerful legs! Olympic Champion Sir Chris Hoy certainly knows his stuff when it comes to massive quads, so we asked him a few questions about how to get big legs, and if its even worth it!

Have the right genetics. The women in my family all have this basic leg shape. Of course there is more fat and less muscle compared to professional athletes, but especially our calves are humongous with well defined muscle. I'm guessing most of us would rather have slimmer legs!

Don't know about quads that big.....but I got back into cycling this year to help my knees due to issues after an injury, MRI scans showed no joint damage. The bike has strengthened my knee muscles far more than I ever hoped so the bike has paid for itself in future medical bills 10x over..!! And I love just doing 20+ miles in the countryside (and beer garden in summer....!!!) 😁😁😁😷 Love it 😀

This. Who gets to the top of the game in athletics? The people who have the genetic capacity to do the work and fix the damage that hard training does to them, better than the next guy.
