Exactly!, That’s what makes the plan so flawless!, nobody will ever find him until he gets to the Depot and even then they’ll never know where he come from,
Someone needs to do a montage of all the times you hear the dogs barking, I think its one of those overlooked gags lol, the dogs even turn up on the live show on the island when Eddie throws a shovel into the bushes
And don’t forget Blackadder, Dad’s Army, Spaced, The Catherine Tate Show, I’m Alan Partridge, The Inbetweens, Ackley Bridge, Not The 9 O’ Clock News, Angry Kid, those are on the other edge
Fantastic comedy, Ade’s and Riik’s timing and delivery is impeccable. I know a lot of people write-off Bottom as just slapstick comedy but it’s so much more than that (and what’s wrong with slapstick done well anyway?). All these scripts are first class comedy!
The irony is that apparently the idea for Bottom was inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot, which is generally considered to be a very high-brow play they teach in universities (despite being 30% jokes about willies and bad smells). This is what gets me about the idea of “high culture” and “low culture”. The high can sometimes inform the low, and a lot of the time there is no real difference except the amount of money the audience have. But enough of that bollocks.
I was at the Warner Studio tour and I was told he was cut from the film because all the extras couldn't stop laughing at his performance, so they couldn't get any useable footage. Only Rik Mayall could get cut from a film for being too funny!
@@KahnuevsKrake While it’s true that the children kept corpsing while they were filming with him (actor Matt Lewis confirmed this), it wasn’t the reason he was cut. The director Chris Columbus said that they needed to cut the film down as it was originally 3 hours long, and he also wasn’t entirely happy with how Peeves looked, but they didn’t have the time or budget to make any more changes. He did find it hard cutting him out as he was his favourite character in the book! I’ll never understand why they didn’t include it with the other deleted scenes in the DVD/Blu ray, but Chris Columbus does want WB to release the full 3 hour version, so maybe there’s still hope that we will, one day, actually see him as Peeves 🤞🏼
Rik later said it was the worst film ever because he was cut out. He admitted that he didn't really care though because they'd already given him his paycheck. He also didn't tell his family who he played or that he'd been cut out, so when they went to see the finished film they assumed he was Hagrid.
