I got rid of a huge chalazion by using heating glasses. I'd put them on very hot, using some thin cloth for isolation and just fall asleep in them, then I'd just pull them off in the middle of my sleep when they were cold. It took two weeks. Day by day the chalazion was getting smaller and then disappeared. Not only it was huge but also I had had it for over a year. .

I’m here to tell you can get rid of a chalazion in a week. I had a pretty large one (I basically didn’t get out of the house without sunnies on). What I did 4 times a day was heating those heating masks in a microwave for 20 seconds and also dip a kitchen towel in 80 degrees Celsius heated water. Squeeze the towel and wait a few seconds to cool off a bit. Then apply it to the eye and the mask on top of it to keep it warm. Stayed like this for 10 to 15 minutes, after 10 minutes it’s not that warm so I remove the towel and keep the mask directly onto the eye. After this is done I put some castor oil on my finger and massage the cyst towards the eyelid for max 2 minutes.
I had surgery to remove chalazia in both eyes when I was in college. A few years later, one recurred, and there was no way I was doing that surgery again. While it was still in the tender phase I began using crazy hot compresses and pushing/rubbing qtips rolled in a mix of Dawn dish soap and hot water onto the bottom of the tarsal/lid plate (where the glands express). I did this with great vigor, like a Kennedy who really hates eye problems. After about two 15-minute rounds the chalazion spontaneously began to drain from its pore. It clouded my vision, and I'd never been happier for something to do so. I went to a budget meeting on the editorial board of my college newspaper, pressing on that thing just draining it in front of everyone. Truly a sight to behold. Key is attacking them promptly. The puss oil will harden eventually, and at that point, surgery is the only real option. I used dish soap because it is the strongest surfactant I knew my eye could tolerate on a temporary basis. I do believe that enough hot soap water finally pushed up the pore into the blockage, which gave way.
I’ve had a chalazion on my left eyelid for a month 1/2 now I only put a warm towel on it here and there. It is healing thankfully just at a real slow pace. I can’t wait for it to heal all the way hope I never get a chalazion again.

I boiled hot water in a mug with a lid and added 1 tsp to 1tbs salt and used a paper towel to dip in and hold in my eyelid(make sure it’s not tooo hot). Then after it’s too cool I would use a qtip and roll down to eyelashes(where the bump will drain) and the next day it was almost gone after having 2 bumps for two months. Do this 4x/day. Just a warning the next day the whole lid may be swollen bc of osmosis not the bump or infection but it will go down in an hour or so.
The absolute No 1 thing you can do when you have a stye/chalazion (and it's a very simple thing) is to make a solution of 200ml Johnson baby shampoo and 70 drops of tea tree oil. Mix this solution very well. Take a hot shower and stay with your face directly facing the flow, under the hot water for a while to wash away debris and open the skins pores. Next take two clean, new cotton make-up removal pads and apply the tea tree mixture to both pads. Holding one pad in each hand, and with closed eyes, gently massage each eye with a pad in circular motions but DO NOT cross eyes/pads or you can cross contaminate eyes. Leave the solution on the eyes for at least 5 mins but up to 10 mins. You will feel a slight to medium burn but this means it's working. Don't open your eyes whatever you do or the solution will sting your eyes. After 5-10 mins, rinse very well under the hot water in the shower. DO NOT towel dry and DO NOT touch your eyes after this treatment. Repeat three times per day for 5 days and then once per week as a maintenance procedure. The infection is caused by demodex mites on eyelashes. Demodex eat sebum (the oily substance on skin). The demodex do not have an anus and so they spend their lifetime eating and growing bigger and bigger before exploding on death. Sometimes people become allergic to the demodex poop which is released when they explode in the base of the eyelash under the skin. This causes infection andn stye/chalazion. The tea tree kills the demodex. By washing with this procedure, you will effectively nuke the demodex. I suffered from this problem for years. I was administered countless courses of antibiotics, steroid creams and injections and spent thousands of $$ on ophthalmologists until I eventually paid a lot of money for a specialist who told me to do this. That was 15 years ago and I haven't had any problems at all since. There are expensive eyewash products that effectively do the same thing and if you read their ingredients, the active ingredient is tea tree oil. I only wish someone could have told me this sooner and saved me a lot of time, money and heartache.
@@jazz9236 just let it sit. The baby shampoo acts as a surfactant and the tea tree actively kills the microorganisms within around 5 mins. Leave it on for up to 10 mins for maximum carnage (Hiroshima style). The general rule I stick to is, when you feel a slight burning sensation, that's the tea tree oil penetrating the pores and that's when it's at its most active....give it a few minutes from that point
This is precisely what I thought I had but it was actually a nodular basal cell carcinoma with the kind of luck I have had in my life and of course I missed an opportunity to get an early diagnosis. So to everyone who is looking at this video make sure you do not self diagnose because you could be making a catastrophic mistake.
@@christopherlang9577 sure. I'm relatively young but get intense sun exposure whenever I take my boat out on the water. So one day I woke up and noticed what looked like a stye on my eyelid. I ignored it and waited for it to clear up but it wouldn't. I also missed two opportunities for an early diagnosis because I simply forgot to mention it to my eye doctor as well as my dermatologist. They probably didn't even notice it because it was tiny. It took almost 3 years for me to have it checked. A biopsy was performed and I was diagnosed with nodular basal cell carcinoma. It is one of the most treatable forms of skin cancer. In my case they did MOHS surgery followed by another procedure done by an oculoplastics ophthalmologist who is specially trained on surgical procedures of the eyelid. I had what is called a modified Hughes procedure but not everyone needs this particular type of surgery. It is amazing what can be done for such a delicate part of your body. They can make you look as good as new. The important takeaway here is not to delay anything that is suspect. Make no assumptions whatsoever. Best thing a person can do is to get it checked ASAP.. @@muhammadsikandar4243 do you have it? I know its been a month but if you still have it I recommend warm-hot compresses and just leave it alone. If it bleeds then dont panic because its good that it bleeds! It usually lasts a few days or weeks!

I get them now about every 2-3 months, and home treatments like the moist heat, ointment and massage don't work. I have a lot of comorbidities including alopecia universalis and hidradenitis suppurativa and I believe that this is probably what contributes to the recurrence. I'm actually dealing with a really gnarly infection right now, and the infection is pushing inwards, not upwards, so I will likely have to visit the surgeon. I don't get numb from lidocaine so the cutting and draining gets to be really painful.
One Dr. recommended heating up uncooked rice in a clean sock. It stays hot pretty long. Not sure if this is a good idea? Also, thank you for the massaging trick. I've been doing it wrong.
Thank u for your info. How to massage, I didn't know. I am 70, & air has been dry for months & now I have one with plephartìs. I now know all my alternatives if chalazon doesnt go away. I was aware of surgery but trying to avoid.
Pro tip take a small eye socket sized washed potato, put in a clean sock, wet the end and pop in the microwave for about 45 seconds. It will stay warm for at least 15 minutes. Make sure you test on your arm first, and let it cool a bit if it's too hot before putting on your eye, or you will create an even bigger problem. One thing I noticed is a stye can turn into something similar to a zit and pop/drain on its own, but may come roaring right back. If you have had a chalazion bump for over a month and no aggressive treatment works then get it professionally removed. It doesn't hurt much, they just flip the eyelid, numb it and remove the hard waxy junk, and scar tissue. In my case the doc also had to cut the front of my eyelid a bit to get the rest, but better a tiny scar than the maddening bump. Cost about $250 for the 15 minute procedure. I have VA benefits from my military service, but wasn't going to wait four months for an appointment to get it resolved. Also it was causing blurred vision, so I wasn't taking any chances.
Mine is bacterial. So I’ve had 2 in my life due to the same reason. I work in a mailroom so I touch a lot of boxes. I accidentally rubbed my eye and felt it come right away. As soon as you feel a sensation on your eyelid area or a little swelling. Its the perfect time to do them warm compress massage, eyelid cleanse and hygiene straight away. Then nothing will form. Which was my mistake, i let mine form until i saw a visible lump.) I dont have blepharitis or rosacea but only cause I rubbed my eye when my hands were dirty 🫠 Its been 2 weeks and going into week 3 and its gone dramatically smaller. I do warm compress and massage religiously and it really helps. And also Pray and be faithful 😂. And when it goes away fully, celebrate and then love yourself very well by taking care of your health because I have taken my previous self for granted. It really messes with your self image. But wish everyone the best with their chalazion journey. Tackle it early on in the phases and warm compress with eye mask and you’ll be okay. I’ll update by the end of the week. Cause I want this 💩to disappear 😭
I did squeeze it a few years ago with thumb and index, resulting in splashing my bathroom mirror (!) and a slight, painless, bleeding from the gland's opening. I think I developed this nasty thing from staying up late and being kind of sleep-deprived. I kept for a long time a hard, painless little lump I could feel when pressing the upper eyelid, but it seems to be gone now. Besides, as it is a Greek term, it's pronounced /K/alazion ;-)

I had a chalazion in both eyelids for over a year now. Despite compresses and leaving the hot water from a shower to drain it, it does reduce it a bit but it comes back to normal. What should I do now?

@shazmaiqbal9569 four to five times a day I hot compress with a towel and hot water.(morning, evening, before bed) after I've hot compressed I applied tea tree gel and massaged it onto my eyelid. with the hot compress, I set the water temp to like... burning hot....which actually hurt, but I didn't care bc I just wanted it gone. i let the towel cool down slightly so it was bearable when i put it onto my eyelid. I acted on mine within 3 days of it appearing and within a week and 2 days it started going away.

@shazmaiqbal9569 I used tea tree blemish gel by Thursday plantation, I had no idea if it would even work, but I guess it did....and yes I massaged it onto my eyelid after every hot compress. I guess normal tea tree will do the same thing. oh, and definitely don't get the tea tree gel in your eye like me! Hopefully, yours clears. I refused to go out and about when I had mine xD
I got a chalazion on both eyelids.. ive had them since around 2012. I am trying to decide whether I should have surgical removal or not. Is it too late to try non surgical treatment i.e. compress or must i now have surgery as chalazion may have hardened over time?

Yes . I got one last year on my lower left eye . It took about 1 year but it went away on its own . But now I have one on my right eye . Argh ! I'm going to just let it heal naturally like the other one.
@@lovelv1278 I have it too. Small but still annoying. Dr asked me to let it settle down naturally because no surgery is required. But my eye looks super tired. Did you think of getting steroid injection? Also, for the one that got cured for you, did you do any kind of warm compresses to expedite the process?
@@lovelv1278 mine took a good three months to finally go away. I sure hope I don’t ever have to deal with that again. Anytime I get some irritation, tingling or itchiness, I think it’s going to show up again.

What if you're homeless/living in a minivan? It's hard to keep my eyes clean on a daily basis or even do a hot compress. I have a Chalazion, and its been on my upper right eyelid for about 8months now. It doesn't hurt, but now it's looks like it is ready to burst. What should I do?
Does your baby still have it? My daughter has had this ever since she was 3 and its been on and off. She has 2 right now and. Its been there for 3-4 months now which has been the longest. Her opthalmologist prescribed her ointment steroids and its not working a little bit. So now her dr wants to do surgery and im scared since theyre planning to do general anesthesia since shes only 6 years old.
Please don't go through wtth surgery. There are other ways to remedy this. My toddler has had one for months and after a lot of research, I've found that rubbing castor oil on the affected area and also on the lash line works. I'm on day 3 of doing this and it's nearly gone. Just use a q-tip or clean fingertip and massage a tiny biy of cold pressed castor oil twice a day. It'll be gone before you know it. Castor oil doesn't agitate or sting the eye, it's also a good Conditioner for the lashes. Please give this remedy a try and don't put your little one through surgery, I promise you it works 🙏
@@brightsider she's doing great. the chalazion was the size of a pea before, fast forward to Day 3 of this remedy, it's now the size of a tiny pimple and is slowly making its way through the lash line. We were doing warm compressions before but it wasn't working and quite frankly, she didn't have the patience for it. Please keep me updated, I'd like to know whether it resolved for your little one. I'll keep you posted on my little's progress as well when it's completely gone.
I’ve had one on both eyes for about two weeks, when should I see an eye specialist? Also I’m afraid if it leaving a scar, is there a procedure that won’t cause this?

Ok so I had one and it took a few months to go away. For me, heat would just make it worse. So what I did was I didn’t use any heat, I always kept it clean and washed it with a good face cleanser. Then I would just ignore it and leave it then eventually it just went away. Although yesterday I just got another one but I’m gonna do the same thing and update y’all
Guys I’ve had it on my lower eyelid for 3 years and I’m definitely not 30-50😭 I’m scared of anything coming close to my eye so what should I do. Oh and yeah it’s definitely hard now
if its a bump under your eye, get some bragg apple cider vinegar with "the mother" take a q-tip and rub it on the bump twice a day (i do it when i wake up and before bed) i had a HUGE one on my upper eyelid for months and im on day 3 of doing this and its 1/3 of the size. idk how or why. make sure to keep your eye close so it dries. if it gets in your eye rinse right away and try again

My son just showed me a huge bump on one lower inner lid n a smaller one on the other lower lid..the big one sticks up so high you can see it without him showing it ...it's gross and I'm a retired nurse, lol ..how do you not feel that? He just had an eye exam two months ago too..calling eye doc in am and warm compresses til then..ugh..
Warm compressions don't work. Logically it make sense but there are other remedies. Try rubbing a tiny tiny bit of good quality cold pressed castor oil on the affected area and lash line. It'll be gone within less than a week's time. I've heard apple cider vinegar works too but castor oil doesn't sting/agitate the eye.
