@@noonci5062 mine is little white but is not hurting nor red I have been doing the hot compress but still there how long does it takes to go away and if doesn’t which specialist should I go see? Thank you
I have what I believe to be a stye. I went to see my a urgent care doctor and it was diagnosed as a "Stye and Chalazia. He prescribed an antibiotic (eye drops) to be used for 10 days, Trimethorim and Polymyxin B. The first few days of the antibiotic seemed to really help with the original swelling and I felt this was going to be the answer. After day ten I stopped the antibiotic as prescribed but the condition was still there but much better. A few days later the stye symptoms persist but seem to be stuck at the progress of Day 7 during the antibiotic period. I still wake up in the morning with crusty dried beige colored material on the lids. I have been using the warm compresses but maybe not as long or diligent as I should be. I am curious, its been about 10 days since I stopped the antibiotic, should I ask my doctor to get back on the remainder of eye drop antibiotic or just continue with the warm compresses? I like your idea with the Green Tea bags, I have some but it also has lemon flavor in them which may not be good. Thanks for your help.
Sounds like you might need to see your doctor again for a stronger treatment. Sometimes a steroid combination drop is needed for persistent styes. The green tea compress definitely helps but yea I would go with 100% green tea because the lemon might irritate your eyelids from the acidity. Try also using Ocusoft lid wipes (OTC) to clean your eyelids at night and dry eye drops like Refresh Plus (OTC) during the day. These help keep the kids clean and the surface of your eyes hydrated to heal better. Your eye doctor will be able to give you a prescription drop on top to help speed things up. @@noonci5062 Thanks Dr for your reply. I went to see a Ophthalmologist on 10 days ago and she diagnosed this as a "Pyogenic Granuloma" on the upper inside corner of my right eye lid. She gave me steroid combo drops to take 3 times a day for 14 days. She said if this persists sometimes they have to inject a steroid directly into the affected area. I am on day 10 of the drops, the discoloration of my upper lid seems improved but the Pyogenic Granuloma doesn't seem to be shrinking much. Maybe I need to be more aggressive in frequency and duration with the hot clothes? There does seem to be what appears to look similar to a whitehead external to the bump on the exterior lid edge. Is this where it could drain out if the hot clothes were to be effective? I do get some goo there in the mornings. I am hoping these drops work. Thanks again.
