I had a bad infestation in one bedroom. tried this and suppose I could not get the heat high enough for a long enough time to kill them. so, I went to walmart and bought a bag of diatomaceous earth and two plastic mattress covers, the cheapest ones they had. spent under 30 bucks. put one cover over the mattress and one over the box springs and zipped them up. washed the pillowcases sheets and blankets and ran them through the drier twice. had the kid sleep on a camping mattress on the living room floor for a few days and dusted everything in his bedroom heavily with the diatomaceous earth. then after three days went back and vacuumed his floor, washed the dust from the walls and surfaces, made the bed and haven't seen a bedbug, bedbug splotch or bite mark on him in months. hope this helps someone.

Just wanted to comment to let you know (over a year later) how much I appreciate your video. This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do for my bed bug problem. I've been fighting the urge to do this because I've been "scared" into thinking that this method has a ton of dangers that common sense couldn't overcome. On the one hand, I'm like, you're just heating shit up. Hell, the inside of a car in the summer gets to over 150 degrees and don't just catch on fire. It's just heating. Don't put anything in front of the actual burner, and ventilate well. Not super tough stuff. On the other hand, I kept reading, hire a professional, do not use space heaters indoors (even though most as used in a garage....is a garage just not considered "indoors" because I don't have nice furniture in there?), it's too dangerous. You have convinced me....this weekend this madness ends!!! You inspired me. I mean, even if I don't achieve 100% mortality, I'll buy another tank of propane, apply what I learned, and try again. At the VERY least, I'm confident I'll drastically reduce numbers without paying more than $200, and I can do it as often as I want. THANK YOU!

We had the early stages of infestation and tried this method yesterday after watching your video. We bought a similar propane forced air heater (60,000 btu’s) and got the rooms up to 140 Fahrenheit. All the stink bugs that were in hiding came out and died, which was a very good sign that this method is very effective. We, of course took safety precautions and made sure the area outside of the room was well ventilated with fans in windows (one in and the other going out), co detectors (you should have anyway), fire extinguisher. We also used a hook magnet and placed it on the top back end of heater to hold back the blanket from covering the vent. Upon treating a room I made sure I was showered and in clothes fresh out of the dryer before I stepped foot in that room while my husband was setting up heat treatment for the next room. I thoroughly vacuumed the rooms, mattresses and box springs as well as sprayed them with 99% alcohol before putting on covers/protectors. It’s too early to say if this was 100% effective but I feel good about it. Thank you so much for your video!

Ziumara Vega it feels good to see people doing this good experiment a scientist love to see people give feedback. Thank you guys I have a bunch of other things that I do you can check me out anything and tell me if you need anything else done and I can show you how to fix it.
@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
Ziumara Vega you don't really have to put down chemicals all you have to do is keep putting down baking soda. Leda baking soda down for about 7 days. And then you want to use the BTUs in waves. You can even take a three-quarter inch board and put the propane in the heater on the outside of the window. Use the three quarter inch board for a platform This way everything is outside and it's super heat in the room. How many ever bedrooms attics and crawl spaces he want to do all this at the same time you want to make vents off of one of them and that way it's heating up every other room too. You want to leave that Becca so down for 7 days and then you want to put some more back Southern down for another 7 days alcohol all the rooms.
@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
Ziumara Vega did you have too heat the room's a second time around.

Ziumara Vega in between those days make sure you keep baking soda down on the floor and the places that they go because it drives them up while you're not heating the place.

Great video thanks. What do you do if you have a sliding window that opens from left to right. How would you reccommend setting up the heater and the fan? Also what if you can only go room at a time? Would it be possible to immediately follow up in each room after the first rooms treatment? The room would be cooling down but hot and should retain most heat until the next room is treated. What are your thoughts. I have also used diatomaceous earth and want to know why you say to vaccume after 7 days. Why do we need to vaccume and reapply whats wrong with the stuff applied? Just curious. Appreciate the advice and help. ☺ thank you!!

The reason that you remove the old Earth is to see the effected area. Still let the Earth stay down while Heating area. Then get an 3/4 inch ply wood cut the width of the opening of the window. Next cut the length .so that the Propane Tank will be on the outside of the window .and the Heater will be half way in the room. Us Sheets of alumna foil too pro vent Temperature loss of pressure. Make two 2x4 legs. This way the Unit will not completely reset itself. That means that you will place the fan in the middle of the room. Leave all Appliances in effected area. When in doubt when it reaches 130 degrees in Arizona the people in the City do not move their Appliances .so that being said'' #1 SAFETY FIRST'' do not speared this species around room too room. They love Appliances the Appliances holds the best living Community. I recommend that you heat the Whole House Cuz. ''NO TEMPERATURE LOSS'. Let the whole effected area that being treated go throw an whole bottle of L.P. Now i will make a video of how to Steam Appliances.This is another effective method daily routine that Kills the Species dead in their Tracks. Do not be fouled .and spend all YA $ on an High $ Steamer. Go get your self an Wallpaper remover Steamer From THE HOME DEPORT. Just steam the Living WHOOHA out them like Xe's. P.S Thank you # 1 SAFETY FIRST let me know ? .and how the project worked out?

Great job done Sir! I dealt with bedbugs too, for heat i went with hair driers to attack visual nests, bought a bunch of styrophom cups 12oz, cut the top half off put the bottom half under each bed wheel or leg, bedbugs like to climb so they climb the cups n fall in cause the inside of cups smoorh n they aint got claws on their legs so pour a shotglass of rubbing alcohol in each cup, also utilize some easy $1 pump spray bottles, fill them 2/3rds up with rubbing alcolhol 1/3rd water n spray those bugs, u will see their backs curl, they dead, only drawback is once spray used in an area is dry it wont kill no more so utilize the spray to knock off as many of the mid to larger size ones u can, check your couches, they could be in seams, i used the spray and then baking soda under cusions and seams cause they run into it then die for the most part. But if anyone can do the propane tank heat thing yeah do it cause exterminators run hundreds and will need several follow ups.

@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 4 года назад
Well you want to leave it in each room till the temp of the wall reach 130 Degrees. Do each room at the same time. This will stop them from running for one room to another. Keep it at 130 Degrees for one hour or more. Try too do the same thing in three day's after just to be bug free. In the meantime put baking soda all over the floor too dry the bugs up the bugs skin do not like to be dry it will kill them. Leave the baking soda all over the floor for seven days then put it on the floor again floor seven days. Yep that will get it thanks and subscribe.

@keeonacurryfields125
@keeonacurryfields125 6 лет назад
rc man you want to put like a kerosene heater in every room you want to get it over super heat you want to get the room over a hundred and thirty degrees to hit ain't nobody going to do nothing that you got in your house. You want to put them heaters in the basement and crawl spaces everywhere you want to put them vented off to that area. You got to have a professional mind-state or you will burn your house down you don't want to be using these without the proper air quality.
@keeonacurryfields125
@keeonacurryfields125 6 лет назад
rc man Anthony fields if you put one of these heaters in each one of the rooms that's been occupied cuz all of them are contaminated so one of the rooms being off that's where the bed bugs run to so you want to quarantine off the whole area and get the whole house superheated so everyone got to be about a hundred and thirty degrees.
@keeonacurryfields125
@keeonacurryfields125 6 лет назад
rc man Anthony Fields so you got to make sure every room before you do anything else every room got to be a hundred 35 degrees take some baking soda and spread it all over the floor baking soda baking soda. Leave this baking soda down don't take it up for 7 Days in the baking soda is going to drive the bugs up and out you ain't going to have no more live I repeat this cycle and you will be good rid of bed bugs but you got to compete this cleanse cycle so it's like a cleaning experience get it get it that you got to you get rid of them but eventually if you keep doing this experiment you would do it good.

Much as I love this video, how it was done, and how bed bugs are killed easily by heat, I want to alert everybody to the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning by doing it this way! I did something similar to this with electric heaters, just to avoid getting poisoned. Heat kills bedbugs, and propane heaters are stronger than electric ones. But, if you use propane, don't spend much time in any part of the house until you have thoroughly aired out the house after the treatment, and don't let any pets stay in the house, either. Also, remember that this procedure takes many hours, since the bugs will try to hide from the heat in the very place they live, which is in your mattress. It takes an extra hour at lest for the inside of the bed to heat after the room has already reached the 100% kill temperature, which is 118f. And, they need to be at or above this temperature for at least 90 minutes before all of them are killed. But, good for you for saving hundreds or thousands of dollars with your DIY solution!
@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
TheClearSounds of propane. Thanks for your help and support. Once I get the room to 140 degrees is probably about an hour or two before the whole room reach that temperature. You do this process this way you kill them even when they try to come out keep that heat on them for about for 5 hours. I just use a whole can of propane per room. After that process I just put down baking powder while the room is cooling down that way I'll leave the baking powder down for about 7 days. But my old man been doing this trick for a long time and he never caught carbon monoxide poisoning. Like you said you ain't going to use the room for Asana you don't want no pets no animals no nothing inside the room. Or area is best to keep a fire watch though.
@theclearsounds3911
@theclearsounds3911 6 лет назад
Anthony Fields, thinking about this again, it looks like you are blowing fresh air into the room through the heater, which will avoid the build-up of carbon monoxide. You will always have a low level of the poison in that room, but probably not enough to harm you or your dad. But, if someone decides to change your configuration and recirculate the air from that heater, it could be deadly. Plus, the threat of fire, like you mentioned, is very real, even with electric heaters, due to the possibility of overloading circuits. So, I just wanted to warn everybody out there if they want to try this method of killing bed bugs; it works great, but please do be aware of the dangers, and do it safely! You want to kill ONLY the bugs!

Hi, did you do this in the middle of summer? It's November now, can I do this when the weather is not that hot?
@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
Eley Jadore hell you could do it any type of the year you want. British thermal units from the Remington is going to bring that room to approximately 130 degrees. But make sure you get enough for each room because you want to heat the whole house to crawl spaces the basement to attic wherever there is bugs run you want to heat a mother 130 degrees. I thought the better way is to get you a three-quarter inch board put the heater in the propane in the window put a sheet over the window and it's the same Principle as putting it in your door but you could close the door put the fan in the middle of the room and Bam hundred thirty degrees and they are all gone until somebody else bring them in.

@anthonyfields5928
@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
Mineral spirits also helps kills them on contact. But if you want to do it the way I showed you all you got to do is get the window heaters and put them in a window the propane on the three quarter inch board put a fan in the middle of the room and heat every room at the same time so if you got like a 5-bedroom house get you a total of 5 of them put them in the window blow it to 130 degrees and it's going to killing bed bugs man. Make sure you get rid of all explosives deodorant memory sticks out of stuff and guns and ammunition anything that's going to explode you want to remove it out of the house so you don't blow your house up basically in this put that in the window and you'll be good I mean I did that a lot of people's houses from this video and um I have no problem put the sheet over the heater so with the cold air don't come inside it a crib and you good hit me back if you can do that or I can show you where to go Lowe's basically Lowe's Stella a lot of places don't sell them because they so high demand in this life about to be summer time so you better go get them now or you have to order it offline. Baking powder alcohol mineral spirits mixed up bleach in Dawn and kills them and drive them up you basically want to drive the bedbugs up if you're not going to use no heat so baking soda anything that have drive up.

Clorox mixed with water works great too. They die instantly. This is good for staying down all surfaces. Easy and cheap for those who might be even on more of a budget. Dollar Tree is the place to go to get most of the supplies. But if you do have the money, this guys idea is a great one too. They do die with heat. This is why they most likely don't live well in vehicles especially in the summer. They like 50° to 80°.

@anthonyfields5928 6 лет назад
adam hinton no I didn't. But when other people that don't know that they have the bugs on them they can bring them to your house so I keep it around just in case for that. Another thing I found is to heat every room that you have in your house the attic the basement crawl space anywhere that you got a room or a space use this Remington and it's going to do the trick to killing permanently but you can't have nobody bring them back. Make sure you heat all the wrongs at the same time so buy one for each room for one and one room all the rooms at the same time turn it on yuseff and the cool off the heater Sinker inside the unit so it won't roll off and cut off. Put a board in the window put everything outside on the board in the window and the fan in the middle of the room and you'll be good just keep the Remington around and shoot them bed bugs. Old man superheating new house so you bring the house up to 130 degrees and it's going to kill them in seconds.
