Miguel, thank you for putting all this information out there. I've gotten significantly worse in the last year. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2019. My doctors ran all the tests. All "normal." It's been frustrating af. The brain retraining helps but I just started doing it.

A very good video!!!! And I found this important point: the difference between anxiety disorder and a hypersensitive nervous system. My doctors just say I have an anxiety dissorder, but I know (because I feel it) it's a hypersensitive nervous system
@cfsrecovery

Yes! The anxiety will be a by-product of the hyperactive nervous system.

Omg thank you! Yes! “Here’s a referral to a therapist to help you with your anxiety” but I can tell them more about the automatic nervous system. Of course I have anxiety and depression I haven’t lived or cared for myself in years! I told them before I even saw this video, it’s the symptoms that cause the anxiety. I was already sensitive to everything before this illness, but it just made it a thousand times worse.

I really appreciate this video in particular, it explains a lot. I'm naturally quite a sensitive person and when my brain developed at 15 I noticed this low level depression come over me as I saw the World in finer detail. fast fwd 20 years, I'm 35 and mostly been bed/house bound for the last 4 years. I think compounding stress has put me in this state. I have a lot of things I want to do but can't seem to shake this fatigue and lightheadedness/brain fog. I've noticed that insensitive people have a lot of natural energy and vigour, I wish I could be like them a bit.

I was sent to Puebla Mexico by my job for 6 weeks. Before I went there I was healthy and fit, had a good digestion. 4 days into the visit I started having diarrhea from the food or water. For the remaining 5 weeks there my digestion never returned to normal. Diarrhea, vomiting, strange looking stools. After Mexico new symptoms appeared and my health continued to deteriorate. Now my digestion is destroyed, likely my microbiome. I‘m chronically fatigued, have muscle pain, joint pain. Sleep brings no relief…I also suddenly got a hiatal hernia out of nowhere< probably from this illness 😞 I feel robbed of my health. Thank you Puebla Mexico. Thank you that your food or water destroyed my life, made me lose my job at only 43. No wonder America has a skilled worker shortage if they’re being destroyed like this!!

Thousands of people live in Puebla consuming the same water and food or even worse, and they're perfectly fine. Thousands of tourists visit Puebla, and again, they're fine. You should be focused on your recovery not on blaming México.

I’ve had fatigue for the last six years now, and it has been really bad for the last 3 to 4 years. Don’t have any other symptoms apart from IBS. No pain or anything. Just feeling really tired every day. I think the difference between my CFS and most peoples is that I listened to my body and didn’t push so it never got worse than the fatigue stage, but I haven’t yet found a way to reduce fatigue.

"Just feeling really tired every day." Well, that is a symptom, which is pretty much the only one I experience as well. Video after video on this channel related to ME/CFS, and, as far as I can tell, not a single one gives effective approaches to deal with the fatigue. In his defense, maybe nobody knows it, or it's not now possible.

@cfsrecovery
@cfsrecovery 2 года назад
Yup, when you start thinking about it from this perspective it makes the symptoms a lot less scary. Even though the symptoms will still be there and the fear around and will still exist, this breaks down while you’re feeling the way you’re feeling. When we know what is going wrong we can then fix it
@bethgillette948
@bethgillette948 Год назад
Wow, Miguel! What you say here makes so much sense and it's the very first time I'm hearing it. I, too, have had many, many IV drips and they did seem to help some with energy, but I eventually stopped them because they really weren't fixing the problem. They were just a really expensive band-aid. But I never considered that they could actually be helping to perpetuating the problem, by encouraging me to override my true fatigue which was only keeping me stuck. I've stopped ALL other energy inducing supplements etc because I did come to this conclusion on my own but not with the IVS! Brilliant advice.

I'm so happy to hear that. When all of this started out for me, fatigue was the first to come, but it was so little.. Everything for me happened in connection to exposure to mold, but I don't know how much or how little can be attributed to that. First fatigue, weight gain, then anxiety, feeling sickly / fluish, runny nose, coughing, sneezing etc. I've been out of the mold for 3 months now and the fatigue is all that's really left, but it's just staying put.

Was getting better and it came back when the cold came back. I was down for over 100 days. Still close to max stressor trying to survive while living alone. Feels the same as the description of long term covid with pins and needles hives. Yes trying everything. Acupuncture, supplements ,naturopathic Dr and their supplements, Kaiser doctors. No one helps so far. Covered with psoriasis for the first time. If I found something to take away the devastating fatigue, I would feel free.

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing, and I understand how difficult it can be to find effective solutions for CFS and its symptoms. It's important to explore various approaches and seek support from people who understand your situation, and also find the right combination of treatments that works for you. While it can feel discouraging, remember that recovery is possible, and many people have found ways to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. Keep trying different strategies, listen to your body, and don't lose hope. There may be options out there that can help alleviate the fatigue and provide relief. I'm clearly in lockdown mode, I'm housebound and bed-bound a lot. I have neuropathy symptoms, pots, my neck and stomach are big weak spots for overstimulation. Do you have a video about the aspects of consciousness and mindset? I understand that this is necessary, but I don't really know where to start! How do I get out of survival mode? Is that simply telling myself that it's okay? That doesn't seem enough for me so far. Yes, I'm an overthinker haha! And my whole life I have had a negative attitude that I can't do it, or I'm not good enough. How do I get out of that spiral? I have already had a lot of therapy and still become sicker, so something still has to be done somewhere.

Hey Miguel. I’ve been following you for a while and I love what you’re doing. Just wanted to ask if you gained weigt while recovering from cfs? I am 5,5 month into doing brain retraining and around 3,5 months I started to gain weight which is something new because my whole life I was at the same optimal weight so now I am overweight and I am thinking how is this going to look in the next months. I already jumped from size 6 to 10 and would like to stop it somehow. I am happy to see huge improvement and the extra weight is the only downside I see at the moment. Can you share your experience? Thanx.
@cfsrecovery
@cfsrecovery 2 года назад
Absolutely, I definitely gained a lot of weight after getting out of the hospital. I was also on medication so my cravings are through the roof, and also I have been deprived of really delicious junk food for so long, so I kind of went all out. I went from 140 pounds to 195 pounds in the span of one year - that is a TON of weight. Now I'm back to my regular weight of 160! I'm glad to hear you're getting better, don't worry too much about the weight right now because that can always come off. Essentially you just have to control your food portions and you'll start to lose weight pretty quickly. For now enjoy the ride!

Would it be blurry vision ortostatic intolerance, brainfog, concentration problems and IBS? Hey! Thanks for reaching out about our program. In terms of the cost, it really depends on several factors and I have to see if we can even help you first. I always recommend going through the questionnaire and if you qualify, booking a strategy call to see if you're a good fit for the program! Do so here www.cfsrecovery.co/apply Looking forward to speaking with you soon!

When does the severe brain fog start to lift?
@danapc1980
@danapc1980 2 года назад
My problem is only the big futige and crashes. Don't have other symptoms . I'm housebound. Trying to be calm, doing meditation, changed my diet (through the advice of a naturopath), trying to think positive and not panic because of the fear of a crash. How can I tell if I'm on the way to recovery? Less futige? Less crashes? How much time does it take to fatigue to reduce?
@cfsrecovery
@cfsrecovery 2 года назад
Yes, let’s fatigue and less overall symptoms. When you say crash what do you mean by that? Can you be more specific?
@danapc1980

@@cfsrecovery crashes for me is the pem (post exertional malaise). A flu like symptoms. Deep fatigue that forces me to lay in bed for at least one day and then it takes 8 days to get back to my base line that is also not that good because I have futige and am very tired. My muscles are weak.

Dana Peretz this describes my situation too. CFS triggered by Covid a year ago. I’ve done some work with the curable app as far as brain retraining and meditation but I didn’t really stick with it for long enough. I can do light chores and shop but a 2k step walk triggers pain, headache, and malaise feeling.

I agree with your concepts but I think everyone heals differently. For me fatigue was the last thing I got. And when the fatigue is gone at certain times, I know there is pain but it doesn't bother me, if that makes any sense. I think we need to all be very careful dictating which comes first or what to work on first. It took me years of FM to ever feel fatigue. Just sayin' Thank you for all you do. Mainstream medicine does NOTHING for chronic conditions and most times they make it worse with all their pharmaceuticals.

A lot of the symptoms you don't need to do anything, you just need to leave them be and they go away on their own! Amino acids and lots of B-vitamins + and Adrenal supplement complex. I was desperate and was willing to try anything so I listened to the naturopath, ended up spending over $10,000 over the course of 3 years and was way worse after all that

I guess you could call what I feel during intense exercise stress, but it's stress I enjoy. I also find that I experience the worst fatigue hours and usually days after such stress, such exertion. I don't think it's that helpful to explain PEM as a response to stress.

@Manx123

@@zonderbaar Yes? My mind would like more activity than my body feasibly permits. Not all stress is "bad," (lots of evidence for this). I don't even think PEM follows stress as such more than exertion.
