Just bought this today. As some of the other comments say, right when I pour the liquid into the device they were swarming towards it immediately. Great product 👍

My husband bought these for me to use. I usually take an empty water bottle, make a paper cone, leaving a very small hole at the tip, and stick it in the bottle, where I had placed a piece of fruit. Orange, mango, pineapple, whatever I had. I NEVER had fruit flies flying around my kitchen, but that bottle would be full of them and their eggs, The little apple has too many holes, but I’ll try it.
I did the same myself for the last three summers: making homemade. However, I just got tired of crafting paper cutouts, taking out the scotch tape, cutting out a plastic bottle, and so on... This apple plastic look (better than my ugly cone paper handmade) would save me a huge amount of time for something else more interesting and avoid boredom! Instead of their pricey liquid, just use apple cider with a rotten piece of banana.
Lol after about 1 hour I had over 100 in mine next to my sink. I’m getting raided by them right now and I’m guessing I got some food that there trying to get at down my drain. Get recked bugs🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, I just had to set mine out again recently. I got about 20 overnight, that night. These things work really well. I re-use them over and over. I make my own solution to put in them. I use the cheapest apple cider vinegar (Walmart generic) and a drop of Dawn dish soap (I think orange scent) in mine. Thanks for the comments.
I’ve tried these before…. I was disappointed… at how they actually work… but, not as well as I had thought. A few, but still many won’t go near it. These are not coming in through the front door… we have septic and I’m convinced they are coming in from drains. I think they need to have a product for the system … any ideas would be appreciated
I used this trap to its fullest potential. I waited and camped out the trap with a tissue and when I saw at least 10 flies on it I surrounded them and they all swarmed into the liquid. I killed all of them at once lol
So you are actively hunting them, LOL, that works if you want to. But if you leave it for several days it would do it by itself. Sometimes it's you need the thrill of the hunt I guess. Thanks for the comment.
Yes they do. Its like the old adage, a watched pot never boils. Leave it for several days. You can turn it so that you can see the clear windows on the side, if you really want to look in. I like the set it and wait several days before I touch it, I feel like maybe the scent of my my fingers may keep them off some, but that could just be in my mind, LOL. That stinks that someone sole the solution out of it and you had to return it for another one, but I think you will be pleased with the results. I had really good luck with it.
To me this is nothing but "apple cider vinegar". I use to pour apple cider vinegar in a bowl put the plastic wrapping on top and punch holes in it. It worked great. The only thing is that I can't stand the smell of apple cider vinegar and I don't know how long I will use these Terro Fruit Fly Traps since the solution smell exactly like apple cider. We're paying for the red containers that goes along with this Terro set. Someone has gotten rich off of this when you can make your own. I probably will not be buying these again.
I bought mine for just the red apples. I knew I could make my own solution. I just wanted something that looked a little nicer sitting in my kitchen. That is why I bought mine.
Picked this up at Lowes today and was pleasantly surprised how quickly it worked. No sooner did I pour the liquid into the globes when they were swamped with the little buggers.
I used them and they work...... and I really like that it looks good sitting on the counter. My question is what do I use to refill - is it white vinegar or apple cider? Does it work without a poison?
@@imonthewinningside8281 to refill I use apple cider vinegar with a tiny drop of liquid dish soap in it. I use generic apple cider vinegar from Walmart and I think I used dawn dish soap. Thank you for your comments. I really do appreciate it.
Useless. Wasted my cash on these. They don’t attract fruit flies and the liquid eventually evaporates. I was surprised they didn’t because their ant bait does work. They need to get back in the lab and invent a “good” ff bait.
They worked for me just fine. Try using apple cider vinegar and a drop of liquid dish soap as your bait. That is what I use when I ran out of the solution that came with it.
