Definitely works. The success rate increases if you bottom water as well. Good luck.

Yes i sent off for Mosquito bits after watching this, and for No more gnats , a product that covers the soil so that the cycle is broken & no more gnats can get in to lay eggs after you kill the larvae with mosquito bits.

Bottom watering only, let the top couple of inches stay bone dry

@Hamza Yousaf Bottom watering doesn't stop them completing even drying them out. Its just part of owning plants.

Fungus gnats are called fungus gnats because the larvae feed on (who would have guessed) fungus in the soil. They are harmless for your plant. Just annoying to have in the room.

The life cycle of the gnats is 6 weeks- so that is the minimum time to treat!

I so hoped that this would have been solution to my problems, but alas, it isn't. That particular product is almost impossible to get in the European Union. At least I haven't been able to find any shops carrying this product or anything similar.

Mosquito dunks, you can almost always find these in places the bits are not for legal sale.

The absolute 1. Best and easiest way in all of history to get rid of fungus gnats is… Taking your plants outside for a few hours, let the soil dry up. The fungus gnats will hate it and go away. This worked for me perfectly and if you want to ensure they never come back have a hydrogen peroxide, fly traps, and cinnamon ready just in case.

This didn’t work for me. They are alive and well. Even with that and the sticky papers. Any other suggestions?

I too have been using the sticky tape in every one of my plants. I couldn't believe how many were stuck to every one, even the plants I did not see the gnats. It's important to kill BOTH adults and larvae. They went into ALL my plants. I bought the mosquito bits off Amazon. Soaked them and poured into every one of my plants. Watering every week was too much for my plants so I had to wait until they dried out. I then just layered the TOP of the soil with the bits, then watered. It seemed to help distract the adults a little. This has been about an eight week process. With the bits on top, I then watered my plants with peroxide water. A 4 to one mixture. 4 parts water 1 part peroxide - 3%. My plants seemed to "wake up" from the peroxide water as well. Barely any adult gnats left. It is definitely a long process. I water every 2 weeks thoroughly before I repeat the watering. Having the bits sit on the soil means no soaking them first. That worked best for me. Also, watering with the Peroxide water mixture was the final bullet. Good luck!
