I suffered for 20 years after I served in the Army, the VA gave me pills, creams and steroids but nothing worked. One day I read an article from a lady that plums will help you. I started to eat dried plums everyday like snacks in a few months they gradually disappeared. I have 13 years with 98% pain free and without hemorroids.😊😊😊😊😊

As a Medical Practitioner myself, here's a question I've asked numerous Gastroenterologist friends and colleagues that none have been able to adequately answer: We are told that we must wash our hands for at least twenty seconds after a bowel movement and wiping our bottoms in order to ensure that we do not transmit E Coli and other harmful microbes contained in the feces back into our system through the oral cavity. This, we know, can potentially make us very ill. Yet, every time that we have a bowel movement with hemorrhoids which are bleeding, we put the exiting fecal matter in direct contact with broken blood vessels and, thus, a direct entry point into the systemic bloodstream for these microbes. So why aren't people with bleeding hemorrhoids in a constant state of sepsis?
@michelenichele294

Fascinating question. As an 80 year old internal hemorrhoid sufferer, I’ve seriously wondered myself? 🤔🧐🤓🤷🏼‍♀️
@musicaldiscovery1434
@musicaldiscovery1434 Год назад
@@michelenichele294 Here's more to ponder, on a different topic: If high levels of LDL in the bloodstream is one of the main drivers of the formation of atherosclerotic plaques on arterial walls, please explain the following: 1) Since all cells in the body are constantly striving for homeostasis, and are very careful with what they let in and out of the cell membrane based on the ionic balances and immediate needs of the cell at any given moment, why would the endothelial cells of the arteries pull excess cholesterol from the LDL molecule in the bloodstream and deposit it behind it to accumulate and eventually create a plaque? 2) Since there are very tight junctions between these endothelial cells, the cholesterol cannot make its way behind the endothelium around the sides of the cells 3) What biologic mechanism is causing the cholesterol to leave the LDL transport molecule? There has to be a receptor site waiting to accept it. Being a lipid, it is not just floating freely in the water based fluid of the blood 4) The endothelial cells of the circulatory system are the same throughout. So why do these deposits and plaques only occur in certain areas of the systemic arterial system and NOT throughout? So, for instance, very rarely in the pulmonary arterial system, unless there is pulmonary hypertension, and NEVER in the venous system, UNLESS the vein is pulled and relocated in a high pressure area like what is done in a coronary artery bypass graft 5) A significant proportion of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts are performed on patients that have normal to low LDL levels or have been on statins for years
@TalkingWithDocs
@TalkingWithDocs Год назад
So likely because the bacterial load is low enough to cause bacteremia rather than septicemia. Our bodies are able to deal with a certain volume of contamination. Also being a venous rather than arterial source may contribute. Great question though

Hey guys I don’t know if this will help anyone but hopefully it will. Here is what helped me cure my Grade 2 hemmorhoid. All I did was eat soup, drink all of the soups juice (very important for nutrients), and after each meal I would eat one packet of oatmeal. I would also eat 1-2 bananas every day, don’t eat too many bananas or your stool will be a lot more soft than you need it to be and it may upset your stomach. I also did not sit AT ALL even when eating. The most important thing for me was to not sit down no matter what unless necessary like driving of course. I highly recommend Campbells chicken noodle soup, Vegetable beef soup, and Beef with country vegetables. They are all made by Campbell. I also would eat one bowl of cereal in the morning with almond milk. NO DAIRY until you feel better. Lastly I drank lots and lots of water and tried to spend the least amount of time possible on the toilet when passing a stool. Laying down is okay, walking and just doing general exercise is very helpful, just don’t sit down no matter what until its fully healed. I really hope this information will help some people, good luck and always remember to stay positive, staying positive is crucial and extremely important to getting better so never give up and just be positive because it will help your body. RECAP: - Soups, & Oatmeal - Cereal & Bananas - High Fiber Intake - High Water Intake - NO SITTING - Exercise (Don’t overdo it)

My husband and his entire family would talk about their hems every time they got together, often. He is 63 now. So, bothered by hems for his adult life until 2018. We changed our diet to a low carb, higher healthy fat, no wheat, normal protein lifestyle. It made all the difference. He hasn’t had hems or flare ups for 5 years. His mother died of colon cancer. It was difficult giving up bread and pasta for an Italian, but we found out he has a gluten sensitivity and 2 celiac genes. Our daughter also has a gluten sensitivity. you make a good point about easily improving our diet when necessary. Note the whole gluten ordeal is caused by immune response to GMO's! I say that so you don't spend so much time eliminating other famous GMO food: tomato, strawberries, peanuts, wheat obviously, corn, soy beans... Usually the allergens are found as PROTEINS. "Witch Hazel" Don't know if this was answered already. "Hamamelis" is a deciduous shrub grown in New England where Native Americans cut the twigs and applied the sap to various injuries. In 1846 Dr. Charles Hawes started distilling the twigs which he sold as "Hawes Extract" in Essex Connecticut. In 1866 Thomas Dickinson refined the process even more and began selling Witch Hazel from several locations throughout the country. Today it's sold across the world by many companies.

When the thrombosis happened i called the specialist and they worked me in withen 2 days, i was in extreme pain for those 2 days to say the least. Approximately 1 hour after getting to specialist i was in surgery and let me tell you what a relief it was. I didn't think recovery was bad. Yes, i about yanked the door off the hinges on the first poop, but it got better from there. I did have a great surgeon and followed his instructions post surgery. *I've had external hemorrhoids for as long as I can remember. They come out every bowel movement. I remember the day I learned that it wasn't normal which was when I was 7 or 8 and told my dad that the thing that comes out when you poop isn't going back in. It didn't become a real problem until I reached my early teens and got interested in weight lifting. One day it inflamed, I was in pain for two weeks. Every since then, I've had a flair up almost every year that immobilize me for a week, it usually happens during the winter. Of course I've been to the doctor plenty of times, unfortunately it's too bad to do anything else but get surgery, the best they can do is give me medicine. So I've given up on seeing doctors about it, besides having it so long I've noticed some things that lessens the chances of inflamming it. Drinking lots of water (especially before sleep), eating fruits and vegetables (mostly fruits), exercising at least weekly, listening to your body, and being mindful about meat, alcohol, and processed food consumption. It's seems keeping the body more then well hydrated, doing things to improve blood flow and lighten the load off your digestive system really makes the difference. It's also a good practice to write down what you ate and write down how you feel throughout the day, especially if **_"listening to your body"_** sounds alien to you. I know that hemorrhoids are very common from my own life experience and people need to know that to remove the stigma. I am glad that you presented very simple changes people can make on their own to deal with this situation. I think most people today want to find the quickest, easiest fixes to their problems rather than tackle the root causes of them. Thanks again for making these types of informative videos.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy in March 2022 but I was very fortunate to be referred to a surgeon who was running a pilot pain mitigation pilot so the first week after the operation was almost pain free. Basically I carried a over the shoulder bag around for the week that contained a small pump that delivered a local anesthetic to the relevant nerve cluster via 2 needles embedded in the side of my butt. I was so grateful. After the week it was removed but while it was then uncomfortable for a couple of weeks it was nowhere near the nightmare I had been told to expect by a couple of friends who had had the operation previously.

My experience with chronic hemorrhoids is the following. Make sure your diet has as low sugar as possible and your poop comes out without resistance in a gradual (automatic) movement (then you know the consistency is right). Diarrhea is the second worst, after constipation. Solution to Diarrhea: fiber, fat and meat Solution to constipation: fat, water, no coffee or alcohol, add leafy greens, movement Never sit on the toilet for longer than 1 minute! (If you have to go, it's over in seconds) Get yourself a Bidet and avoid using paper, except to dry. Squatting to poop is the best poop you will ever have (Indian style), go camping often hehe. Warm sitting baths at the first sign of discomfort and purchase a big bottle of witch hazel and glycol gel, mix 1:4(gel) Apply directly. Light exercises that strengthen legs, hips, gluts and back are good for strengthening. Best time for #2 is after exercising, because our digestive system as well as bowel movement works best after being mobile for a while. My chronic hemorrhoids show up twice a year, mostly after lifting heavy, but have never been as bad as before those points I mentioned. The biggest one was the size of a pigeon egg, it nearly killed me in pain. PreparationH cooling gel is the one and only over the counter product that works immediately and acts super fast in shrinking the little bastards.

I had really bad diet. always having junk food, living mostly on snacks, chips chocolate, i started having them when i was a teenager. constipation, diarrhea was common. I'm 29 now 2 weeks before my hem started acting up cus of severe constipation and pain, and for the first time in my life i get them checked, doctor recommended surgery, i got laser treatment done and shifted on high fibre diet, I'm on antibiotics and laxatives right now and having Psylium husk and cucumbers and yogurt, light bleeding is common but it is such a relief getting rid of them. I'm recovering and promised myself that i won't be eating white flour all my life, no junk food, only home based high fibre diet, stop lifting heavy weights, train your muscles, do cardio and exercise, don't spend too much in washroom. and stop having vegetable juices instead eat them raw, have yogurt always in ur diet. and have warm water always 2 glass when u wake up. sit in a squat position whenever u have a bowl movement, don't put too much pressure on ur anus area as it forces veins to swell up. If u feel warmth on down in ur spine then go to toilet otherwise don't. Never force yourself to poop, if u feel like u r constipated, have laxatives, but never ever put pressure on ur anal area it will make case much worse. Improve and focus on the quality of ur poop only by having good diet. Have barley bread daily with soft mushy vegetables with 2tbsp oil.

You guys are great. I am not a doctor, but I suspect hemorrhoids can be genetic. By the time I had hemorrhoids ,my uncle had had surgery to remove his, and my sister had the rubber band procedure, an absolute disaster. Not only did she have severe pain after surgery, but they became infected. I was grateful to find a doctor who injected mine with a steroid that seemed to shrink them. Adding fiber to my diet, avoiding popcorn, macadamia nuts as well as hot peppers, helped a lot. Hemorrhoids also blow up during monthly periods...advil was a lifesaver, along with warm baths. Now that I'm in my seventies and don't take ballet lessons anymore, I can happily say that hemorrhoids don't seem to be a problem.

I have poor circulation, with varicose veins. Even on my breasts, and my lip. I figure that means I am more apt, to get them. And, I have what I believe is a hemorrhoid, on the exterior. My gastroenterologist wouldn't even examine me. I asked to see a gastroenterologist/surgeon. They set me up with a proctologist. Well this guy did use a little scope on me. It was painful. He claims I don't have a hemorrhoid. Said, Probably my pelvic floor has fallen???? It hurts, itches, bleeds. I used to push hard to get anything out. Figured it is a hemorrhoid. If it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, type thing. If he has done this so many years, how can he guess? The acid someone in the comments mentioned. That acid burnt my skin, on the outside, till I had blisters. How can it not be a hemorrhoid??? So.. off for a second opinion, and ANOTHER person looking at my hairy, dimpled, old ass! Really embarrassing! I, also, have damage to my anus, from birthing a 10 pound baby, naturally! Not one doctor will affirm that. But, I was there, when a pie slice, of it finally came off. When they first started, I bled at work without noticing and thankfully I rushed to the restroom before anyone noticed. After having a flare up, I now lay facing down for 20-30mins or longer. For me, laying on my back, sitting or standing after a flare up makes it SO MUCH WORSE. I also try to keep my legs warm since the blood flow feels off. I also try taking a warm shower to soothe the pain. Oh, and gas x helps in case there is lots of gas due to certain foods which aggravate hems. Lack of proper sleep is one of the worst things too.

I have hemorrhoids. I had a colonoscopy which went well with no polyps. I was told I had hemorrhoids but I didn't have any symptoms at the time. That was 4 months ago. Now I am having symptoms literally out the ass. My number one issue is having another ass procedure so soon after my colonoscopy. I hope that these home remedies work because I don't want my ass messed with!

Thanks for the discussion but would you also include post surgery pain management? These surgeries usually produce great pain for weeks or months on end so how is a person supposed to live with it without real pain medication? Thanks

4 grams paracetamol, 1200mg of ibuprofen. Keep your levels up, take regularly as prescribed. Make sure your stools are easy to pass, or, iow: eat fruit and veggies in overdrive.

I had a large Hemorrhoid that was causing a lot of irritation. My friends took me to an Asian restaurant called “Chili Max”. I had this super spicy cashew chicken. The next day the Hemorrhoid started growing. Later that day I was shopping at a local supermarket when I felt this warm liquid running down my leg. I looked down and the back of my leg was red. It was blood !! The Hemorrhoid popped and all this puss and blood was all over. I quickly made my way out of the store and then went home. That was 10 years ago and I have never had a hemorrhoid again. The restaurant is now out of business but their recipe should be in a medical journal!!

Absolutely shocking that you didn’t mention itching. I had no pain. I was itchy as hell and the skin around the area was changed due to the mucus hemorrhoids produce. It was miserable.

I wish that I could feel itching. I’m so beyond that type of discomfort. I bleed volumes. I cannot sit. I wear items for blood absorption every day.i hurt so so bad. Nothing takes the hurt away. I could go on and on,but these folks it seems, are beyond itching. I would say to you not to wait! Catch them early. It is seriously debilitating if you wait.

Pregnancy and childbirth has led to a lot of trouble with hems for me. I have them, multiple. They flare up sometimes, bleed only occasionally, can be uncomfortable but I wouldnt say they are debilitating in pain levels unless Im constipated and cant poop. Tried treating with external creams for weeks with absolutely no change, keep my fibre intake up and drink LOADS of water to keep things soft and and moving. Witch hazel is an absolute godsend if and when they do flare up, but honestly canr wait to get them surgically removed one day even if it is a long and painful recovery 😳

I agree with you guys. I started psyllium husk tablets and started focusing on fiber. Used Prep H to manage it. And as the fiber kicked in, I spent less time on the seat and less straining. I feel things are getting better over time. I also started drinking prune juice but not too much as I started getting acid reflex. So a half a glass at dinner every day at the most. When having bad days, taking sitz bath in warm water and massaging area.

Fiber fixed my issues. I would suggest you mention when you increase your fiber intake, you should also increase your water intake. While Fiber fixed my issue, water was needed to keep things moving.

my doctors continued comments from bleeding with pooping "stop pushing so hard"....i ended up in hospital for a blood and iron infusion...i lost so much blood over a year and got internal banding because it was serious......GP's are very ignorant and some to this day are still telling me to "not push hard and that will fix it".

I tried these steps: 1. I like Kellogg's All-Bran Bran Bud Cereal. Make sure to leave it in milk or water for couple mins for it to get a bit softer. 2. Don't try to push hard when you go do your popping:) Just take it easy. Easy to say than done for this step.

Awesome video. These videos make home treatment without having to seek for it possible. Kind of an embarrassing subject and as my symptoms aren’t that severe I’ll just try the fiber, water and short toilet strats. Thanks again!

Well done! Funny and educational. I'm nearly 60 and been vegetarian since I was 18. Because I have a tendency to a sluggish intestinal system, most mornings I have a home-made mix of fibres: psyllium (about a third soluble or gelling fibre) oat bran, wheat bran (and wheat germ for good measure): about a tablespoon of this mix on breakfast cereal each morning does make a difference. Stools are easier to pass. I make the mix once every few months, keeping the wheatgerm, especially, and bran in the freezer for logevity.

I usually mind my own business… but similar to you I have a mixture too. I make it in a large jar each time. About 40% the jar is a natural chunky peanut butter. About 40% is whole wheat or oat fibre. Then about 10% natural honey and 10% flax seed oil. Try to get a big teaspoon twice a day… usually on a cracker. The fibre is great for your gut, the peanuts are great for your testerone and flax seed is great for your arteries and cholesterol.

I could never eat all that. LOL! But...knowing I need my fruits and veggies and fiber...I started putting all that healthy stuff in the dehydrator. When it's good and dry, I use a coffee grinder to turn it into powder. All the veggies in one powder, fruits in the other. Then I put it in capsules that I can take daily, plus use some of the veggie powders in soup broth, gravy, etc...and the fruit is good sprinkled over ice cream or mixed in a lemonade smoothy. Added bonus: I'm not throwing away produce anymore. I used to buy it with good intentions to eat it all, but it'd go bad before I could finish it. I'm just not a good veggie eater and most fruits make my teeth hurt for some reason. (But ice cream doesn't. I know, it's weird...lol)

@@Redcouriercat Wrong. I eat very little sugar and carbs because I'm hypoglycemic. I mostly eat protein like eggs, chicken, and cheese. Keep your wrong assumptions to yourself.

I am in my seventies, and I had haemorrhoid surgeries some 30 years ago. Recently, it has started to bother me again. It is not the pain but the unrelenting itch that I am suffering from. The itch gets intense as the night progresses. I get relief with the Cera V cream, but l want a better cure and not a temporary fix. I also, suffer from some swelling with the itch. Thank U.

Trust me it's no laughing matter, I suffer with chronic pain from difficult childbirths and it really drags down my health. It's not just an age related disease, and childbirth is a common cause. The pain can be very severe, with headache, low grade fever, leg and foot pain from the circulatory issue. General malaise. It's no joke.
