This video is all about nutsedge identification and how to get rid of it. Before and after results! I show use of a product that I picked up from a local store called Sledgehammer+ (also linked down below). You can also use an oath hose end sprayer option (linked below) and a product called tenacity (linked below).

You and me both, I came home one day and my neighbor was having a party. One vehicle was about 3 inches in my grass. I got so pi****. I went a knocked on the door and had them move their vehicle. I don't think they cared for me doing that but I didn't care. I put a lot of time, effort and money in my lawn, and not to mention, if you bust my sprinkler head, then I have spend more money and time fixing it. So, "STAY OFF MY LAWN"!!!

I didnt have good luck with the sedge hammer. The ortho version was a one and done application.

I use a product call sedge ender. Works well and I can make small batches.

Ortho with nutsedge is legal in 49 states. The one it’s illegal in is my state of NY. Tenacity is great but expensive and designed for pro I will check out sledgehammer

Hey bro I have a question, I just put down new sod 2 weeks ago. Tall fescue. But the nutsedge is growing crazy. Is it safe to spray this now since it’s new sod or should I wait a couple of more weeks?

Funny comment “Don’t pull your nutsedge”. But true Years ago when I did not know what it was I pulled it up like I would dandelions. I thought cool I got it down to the root bulb, Then a week later I had 3 times as much. Each little piece of the root left becomes its own blade.

The Sedgehammer+ that I bought? cost $17.95!!! at my farm supply store. Seems this pest arrived with the brown mulch I put out this year...grrrr. When I had this volunteer plant in my front yard a few years ago - this product did kill it - the second year after applying it.

The curb is actually there to assist with directing water if I’m not mistaken ;) just kidding! My road doesn’t have one, it has a curbline of sandbur (not really curbline, just a line of sandbur lol

I have a very good friend who has some "problem" relatives that when they come to visit, just pull up in his lawn and park. He lives in a nice neighborhood, too! He got tired of it and put large rocks on the border. When the relatives visited again, the doofus didn't see the 10 inch tall rocks and almost busted his oil pan by driving over them... THEN he gets mad at my friend for putting up a border that was supposed to stop this bad behavior. It makes a sane person question humanity.

Both work. Sledgehammer is cheaper in terms of just killing nutsedge. Tenacity is great for all around weed control though!

Agreed,it makes it so much worse, don’t pull it out after it turns yellow either. Just keep mowing over. Years ago when I did not know what it was I pulled it up like I would dandelions. I thought cool I got it down to the root bulb. Then a week later I had 3 times as much.

If the ground is still wet the nut will come out when you pull it as long as you grab the base of it.
