I think I have white water mold - the top had white mucus like stuff and it went away but if you look in the pool you see what looks like shredded paper. The water is cloudy blue - your videos always help so I hope this video clears it
@SwimUniversity hey quick question, I've been following the directions I just did the step when i have to shock/brush - is it normal for the pool to turn green after? My pool was cloudy blue before
Been in the business for 20 years i have never seen white wold or pink slime maybe here in the desert is different but it is very helpful thanks if i ever come across it this week help me deal with it
I have been cleaning our Intex pool filter, I assumed the white stuff was the kids' sunblock in the filter, I left on vacation for 5 days and no one else checked the pool filter and it was pink. I did fill it with pond water, but it was clean and balanced before I left. I am new to this without a sand filter. Just my $.02 . I did see a hula hoop at the bottom of our pool one of the kids left in, I thought that's where the pink came from, but I shocked it hard ( 5500 GAL pool ) and it cleared up great in 6 hrs. Going to vac it to waste in the AM. We are in the PNW rainforest.
Thanks for this video! I did the chlorine shock yesterday and brushed and vacuumed this morning. I tested the chlorine levels and it’s above 5 which is the max my test kit goes to. How do I get the chlorine levels down after Shocking the pool? Is it just a matter of waiting it out or do I need to do something?
So is it necessary to throw all things into the pool such as skimmer poles, pool toys pool, etc. so that the products used kill te algae and mold? I do this when I have had a green algae problem and use the all algae killer products. I guess it can't hurt.
Do you still respond to comments on this post? I have pink slime only in hoses. Can’t get rid of it!! None in pool at all. Slightly cloudy water though . I run the baquacil or peroxide system . Also my pump has a tiny leak in the basket lid before actual sand pump motor so buying a new one next spring. Will it filter ok to get rid of slime for now?thsnks!!
Those pumps don’t have those settings unfortunately. You just turn it off, take the filter out and rinse it or replace the filter. Upgrade to a sand filter if you can, they work so much better. I’m not sure why pools come with those cheap pumps. There’s no way they could keep a pool clean longer than a few days.
I had an el cheapo pool that had a white water mold infestation. I couldn't get rid of it which I chalked up to the cheap semi porous liner letting them hide when I litterally dumped 40 gallons of bleach in it and it survived. I got a good above ground pool and it's been up for 3 days. I have the clumps of white gathering on the bottom and stray strands floating already. How can this be??? It's a new pool. 😢
