My first Shiny Alpha was literally right at the start of the game. I started exploring and ran up on Shiny Alpha Luxio. Took me 30 resets to finally catch it. I had no stars only starter poke balls and lvl 7 Pokémon.

Just had the greatest night of my life in game - played about 4 hours casually. Found a shiny Qwilfish, then a shiny alpha Mothim almost 5 minutes later, THEN a shiny Scyther toward the end of the night. Wasn’t hunting, just insane insane luck. I wish this luck to everyone else here.

I've been having the best luck of my life with this game. First outbreak (wasn't even hunting) caught a shiny Buizel, shiny Luxray in an outbreak on the first try, a random shiny Starly, TWO shiny Pikachu in an outbreak, and a random shiny Wurmple. RN I'm hunting for an alpha Rapidash and it's taking the longest but that's fine lol. It's more rewarding if you work for it.

Honestly, this game makes shiny hunting fun I’ve been soft-resetting hundreds of times and hatching thousands of the same egg for a handful of sittings and the only times I got shinies were still just by pure encounter chance. It was mindlessly mundane and this is such a nice change of pace

I CAN CONFIRM, that you do NOT have to save and SR for hunting alpha shiny pokemon. You can fly over them, then headback to Jubilife and repeat and it will be a different pokemon of the same pokemon (if that makes sense). I have gotten MULTIPLE shiny alphas by doing this and you save around 33 secs worth of loading screen time

Ig its just the lazy way. Another way that works for me and others is to faint the alpha you’re hunting and sleep at a nearby camp to reroll the alpha I was able to get an alpha Empoleon and alpha Scyther this way

I love hearing how everyone is getting these random shinies without outbreak method and then there is me who has yet to hear the sound and is super paranoid that I have missed one. I just want one of my first natural shinies Update: I literally hours after making the comment had a random Starly and as I have progressed through the game have come into contact with many shinies now and I believe I have 10 now which none of them are ones that I have been shiny hunting for but I will take what I can get

I’ve only had a handful over the years due to soft resets. My first ever encounter I missed out on because i was out of pokeballs in Pokémon gold. My wife on the weekend got her first ever shiny Pokémon in shining pearl (golbat). Not shiny hunting and no special things, no shiny charms or anything of the sort. Just a random encounter, after nearly 30 years of playing

For anyone wondering why the save methods are different. From what I can tell, "event" spawns such as outbreaks are determined when you enter the village whereas normal map spawns are determined when you enter the area. This same method works for farming "rare" spawns such as the sinnoh starters etc. ***disclaimer*** I'm just playing the game having fun. No actual research done, just trying to prevent the "why is this method different" questions. Edit:- spelling

Didn’t see it mentioned anywhere, but the easiest way to catch alphas is to use one of the cakes that is their favorite then sneak behind them with a heavy/leaden/gigaton ball. I’ve been able to catch alphas like the 85 alpha garchomp in one pokeball without having to fight it

Or use the sticky ball item and then when the mon is dazed go behind and throw a ultra ball since you can buy those. I don't know why people aren't using the confuse items that much, you just need 3 sticky balls to render an alpha defenceless and 1 sticky ball if you don't catch it. Have been doing that with Blissey to farm candy and normally I just use 1 ultra ball and I can get as close as I want to any alpha safely.

For new underleveled trainers, just catch a low level drifloon that have confusion. Bring it to alpha heracross and breeze through it like a champ. Turns out alpha heracross attacks don't affect drifloon. Drifloon being ghost type and heracross uses normal type attacks.

Maybe I am wrong but I found it’s generally faster to check if the alpha is shiny, then fast travel back to camp and then back to jubilife and then re-go in. Rinse and repeat. This seems to be quicker than soft resetting the game

Has nothing to do with shiny alphas but when I got into the snow map I just happened to run into a shiny chimecho and it was the first chimecho I caught in the game! I was so mind blown from disbelief. Since then I haven’t found another shiny but as of right now I have two shiny Pokémon which is the ponyta the game just hands out to you and then the amazing chimecho

This guide is 100% correct about saving in Jubillife! I was previously doing outbreaks wrong by saving in Jubilife and farming the same outbreak over and over, and somehow I ended up getting a full odds shiny on route to the outbreak I was headed too 😂 (I got a shiny starly on my route to a shinx out break if anyone was curious lmaoo)

I just got my first shiny alpha. I went for Ninetales since it's one of my favorite Pokemon and foxes are my favorite animal. I had the best odds in my favor, since I aimed for the shiny charm after beating the game (the remainder of which didn't take too long, since I did most of the completion while playing through it) and perfected Ninetales' entry. I was resetting for 15-20 minutes before I encountered it.

Surprisingly, my first shiny alpha was during an outbreak and it was for Riolu. 😂 I wasn't trying to get an alpha shiny, just a normal shiny, and I dropped my controller, disconnecting it entirely, which had me weeping and scurrying to try and get my controller on again to save in case I KO'd it. I definitely want to try this shiny alpha method though! These alpha's are set so you don't have to try and force spawn them in. They already are there. Can't wait to try this out. Hey dan if you use the cakes the pokemon when you aim at them the icon turns green when they eat the cake. And a simple back strike definitely works really well. I only have the 1st area so far and I have a 6 star rating and this method definitely helped me catch alot of the pokemon

First shiny was a kricketot. I didn’t notice as I was going around catching them all and it was just sitting in my box when I was browsing. Second was a random shiny alpha bibarel that I barely saw the sparkle and caught right after the kleavor battle.

My first Shiny Alpha was a Shiny Alpha Gyarados! It was totally unexpected, and it was a really tough battle, but I got it! I’m kind of on the lookout for a Shiny Alpha Zorua now, which is much rarer

I was dumbfounded a few days ago. I was wanting a good natured alpha steelix so I was farming the alpha onix in the mirelands. It was around several catches in until i walk up the slope and see the onix was yellow. I couldnt believe my eyes and was so happy to catch it. I now have a Shiny alpha steelix and hes permanently on my team

The Yanmega in crimson mirelands was shiny for me once. Its level 58 and severely outleveled me and i didnt have ultra balls yet so i couldnt catch it. As for normal shinies, i have a bibarel, golbat and remoraid so far

I have 5 shiny Pokémon so far: The guaranteed ponyta (now rapidash), bronzong, machamp (caught as machoke), a shiny ALPHA growlithe (now arcanine), and my first shiny in the game was a FULL ODDS 1/4096 GASTLY (now gengar and was on my main team until I got the other 2 starters cause I needed coverage 😅)

It’s funny how you started with Heracross. It was my second day playing and I crossed by a Shiny Alpha Heracross! I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to catch it due to how early in the game and how low my Pokémon levels were, but I figured it out and I caught him! I was very lucky! Next day, I caught a shiny Ponita! So I have 3 shiny Pokémon so far! (Plus the shiny ponita they give you for the side quest), good luck everyone!

I’ve only got 2 shinies atm, I’ve not completed the main game yet. Both were full odds, I got a Staravia at the start of the game (before even crossing the bridge) and I somehow managed to get a shiny Alpha Golduck that I didn’t even realise was shiny until looking through my boxes later 😂

I have never encountered a shiny in any game ever before. My first shiny ever was when I randomly found a shiny alpha mantine jumping around in the coast. Made me so happy that I finally got my first and it turned out to be alpha :D

My second random shiny was an alpha when i first went into the marshlands. The were lvl 43 when my pokemon were in the 20s. Basic i caught it by using my flying types to bait it into using double edge

Found a random shiny aipom just running around. Heard the shiny sound and almost ran past it. I hadn’t researched anything about shinies in the game at that point. Really glad I didnt leave the area and looked to see what the sound was.

So tip I found out for myself to help me catch that lvl 60 Alakazam in the First region. Was a combination of Leaden ball which is better with a back strike and then a razz berry which increases catch chance. I was able to catch Alakazam one time shot. Just save beforehand and if run out of supplies then reset. Unless you're strong enough to fight then fight it.

My first shiny alpha was a random find. Carnivine. Random but honestly I thought it was pretty rad. My second was Shinx. Shiny alpha Shinx, I found it in an outbreak and I was stoked. I’ve been trying for a Magikarp for 3 days now. I’ll try this method, thank you.

First shiny was a full odds first capture misdreavous in alabaster icelands, funny cause my first shiny in bdsp was also misdreavous l, but I radar chained for it. Once I get arceus, can’t wait to start shiny hunting a full dex!

While I was running through the Obsidian Fieldlands I ran into a shiny Alpha Staravia and its was so unexpected. I only have a perfect complete dex page for Starly so that was a full odds shiny Staravia. I have also gotten a random shiny Buizel though I have a perfect complete dex page for it. I also got a shiny Buneary from a mass outbreak which was a welcome surprise. Oh course the static shiny Ponyta as well.
