Hi thank you for the information..... I've been thinking about this for a while... But I am single parent with a child and wanted to know if it that would affect me??
Hi @tita8202 your so welcome for the information. Each state has different rules and specifications for fostering. In Missouri you can be single and have a child and foster. You would just need to check the requirements in your state. We actually know several single parents that foster, it’s definitely not easy for them but they are doing an amazing job.
We are about to start the application process for fostering /adopting. Our lease is not up until January, but is it OK to start now even though we don’t have the extra bedroom yet? We were also approved for a home loan, but we want to wait until we find the perfect home and hopefully the interest rates will go down.
Hi Stacy_SJ&A, that’s so exciting!🙌😁. I would say it would be okay and get as much done now as you can. You might have to update your homestudy at that time or wait to do the homestudy after you have the room, but I would suggest getting as far as you can now and complete the rest of as soon as you can. You may want to talk to your local caseworker or children’s division to make sure that doesn’t cause any issues. Each state has different rules and we found there are a lot of gray areas, the key is to ask lots of questions. 🤗❤️
Thank you so much for all this info. I’ve been wanting to become a foster parent. My question is do they do all the training in English, or they provide it in other languages too?
Airy, that’s an excellent question. To be honest I’m not exactly sure if they do the training in other languages. I know our trainings were all in English so I’m not exactly sure. I would suggest reaching out to your local children’s division and see what options they offer or have. Thanks for reaching out!🤗❤️
@@Zero2FiveFamily thank you! I love your RU-vid channel ❤️ you all are so inspiring…! I was asking that because my first language is Spanish, and I would feel more comfortable getting all the information in my own language, I do speak English, but I think it would be better in Spanish just to make sure I understand everything clearly, I will do some research 🧐 I see if my husband and I end up doing or not. Keep up the great job you guys are doing with all the video content!!!
