I'm a year into learning trading options. He's spot on with everything, especially the "trade attacks" and using paper trading or small amounts so you can learn your emotions. A winstreak can indeed be bad for the mentality of trading. I remember I had two 100% ROI days back to back; it became hard for me to sell at anything other than 100% because I was used to it. Eventually lost it. Above all, stick to the strategy, read the charts, manage your risk and manage your emotions. Great interview

I see David is still trying to learn how to trade. Earnings plays aren't gambling if you know what you're doing. Those are Advanced Options strategies. One is called a Straddle and the other is called a Strangle. If the stock remains flat after earnings you can lose money. You can calculate risk based on the implied move the stock is supposed to make as priced into the options contract cost by the market maker. Sometimes both sides get crushed the day after which is called IV crush

Why if you can hedge ur position in earnings play. Buy a call 200-300 and a put 200-300. Sell next day one or the other will spike and the other one will zero out so you can make money regardless. It will be 200-300 less then you could have made but you actually made money from your other contracts. What do you think of that play is it viable? I never tried it but when you talked about earning plays that’s the first thing that popped in my head. I avoid playing overnight plays

I’ll try, it’s a lot of information. Around earnings you can see a companies upward revisions and downward revisions for the past 90 days. It’s not exact but can give you an idea of how the company is doing. In regards to option flow. There are multiple sites where you can see what most people are purchasing heading into earnings. I use Unusual Whales, but there is also Cheddar Flow and GreenBox. So many out there, you want to go through the option flow which is the data and look for Sweeps with High Premiums. People that bought millions of dollars worth of options recently before the earnings date. This is still a lotto play, but it will increase your edge. Not promoting but I have a code if anyone is interested in trying Unusual Whales.

I bought a few company’s that I thought were going to beat on earnings some of them did the stock still dropped do to future guidance. There are stocks that missed earnings and went up, sometimes it makes no sense at all. That’s why I say do not trade on earnings. If anything trade calls when a stock bottoms out and trade puts when a stock gets overvalued.

He doesn’t work from home at a Fortune 500 because he doesn’t make over 100k a year…..and if you can’t tell then you internet kids are gonna have a hard time investing

We are in the age of technology. You can WFH easily and make 100k at a Fortune 500 company. This isn’t the 90s. You sound like an old hater and you can’t predict earnings. It’s literally 50/50 most of the time.

And if your earning plays are 50/50 then you’re doing the wrong homework because you should be putting the odds in your favor like 80/20 through probability of your “research”. I’ve made plenty sun the markets to take care of my family. It’s obvious you’re a beginner and you’ll probably stay at that stage unless you open your mind up to what I’m saying. Gg
