untrue. hes a good painter but he mixes very limited muted colors its really nothing out of this world

Life is filled with muted colors. Mark can mix any color, but he chooses to paint lifelike. There’s a difference from being unable to and choosing not to. Sounds like you just have a different interest of style.

@@angelicasotomayor6653 oh no that was not the point i was trying to make. i myself use only muddy colors and work only with the zorn pallette. i was just trying to say that the way he mixes colors is not magic at all and actually fairly easy. you could get the hang of it in a day or two

You're awesome for what you've provided over the years. Sometimes I'll just watch reruns of the cup painting demo for fun. My wife makes fun of me for watching "paint dry", but I get inspired to get back at it every time I watch your stuff. Feel free to post another 2hr still life painting video that talks us through the process. Sucks that you don't really make money off something like that though. Happy New Year!

@@paulwoodford1984 RU-vid isn't lucrative for him. More of a hobby I'm guessing. He makes money off his workshops so, maybe he's hiding some of his cards for that reason which I totally respect. Teaching us for free is robbing his own bread.

Dear Mr. Mark Carder, I realized last evening and today that you basically saved my life. After watching about 20 or more of your videos on the mediums, Cadmium paints, etc. that's why my memory became fuzzy in the past year. I so appreciate how you told us how important it is for ventilation and other warnings. I recently had eyelid surgery that took me away from painting and just the past few days, my memory and clarity is so much better. I can't express how grateful I am. I used to sit in the small art room after painting with all the Cadmium acrylic paints and mediums. I feel so much happier lately. Thank you from the bottom of my ❤️ heart. I'll use my tall air filter, always gloves & won't spend hours in there while the paint is drying reading on my phone. You saved my life, grateful forever 🙏.

Thank you so much for all this free information. Im setting up my studio now and hope to be painting very soon. One question…I have purchased your canvas stain along with your paints. Does the canvas stain go directly on the raw linen canvas? Or do you prime with white acrylic first?? Thank you again Mark!

I didn't think it mattered, and stained a white canvas, or several as I made a lot of stain the first time. Mine were painted with white acrylic. I bought them like that.

@@icandothis1238 After much research, I’ve discovered that you can NEVER put oil based products directly onto a linen canvas, or it will cause the canvas to rot. You have to prime it first with a couple coats of an acrylic primer, then the canvas stain can go on top of that.

A friend's grandmother passed away and she left some big tubes of oil paint, so she gave them to so I could learn how to paint. My question is simple. I have all the basic colors (expect red), but my yellow is Azo Yellow Light. Will that be fine for yellow or should I get another kind?

Mark has been fantastic for me as a RU-vid thought painter but it's a big mistake to use the 3 primaries, white and brown. You have to have 2 of each primaries. I used 1 of each plus white and brown and their are shades of voilet, orange, pink etc. that I couldn't get with 1 of each primary.
