I found Merengue randomly on a mystery island once. I was ecstatic when I found her and immediately invited her to my town. I regret inviting her to my town though because I'm like 99% sure she wants to murder me. *She gave me the recipe for a tombstone and when I found her in the fossil exhibit, she said "I didn't think I would find the living in here."* Send help.

Here's a tip: every now and then a villager will come to the campsite and if you want them to stay they will ask you if you want X randomy villager to move out. When the name of the villager appears on screen and it's NOT someone you want to get rid of then simply close the game, restart it and go talk to the visiting villager once again, and the selected villager might change (since it's randomized) Don't say no, just close the game and try again until they choose a villager that you don't mind see go.

now, how to get a switch

I just wanna note, that it is possible for no villagers to move in the following day after your plot has been opened. When I was villager hunting once I found that the plot wasn't taken for three whole days (I found someone to move in by the third day, so idk if it would've been possible to still be free longer). I had my switch on airplane mode the entire duration so I wouldn't get any villagers moving out of my friend's islands moving into mine, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. On another note, I was lucky to get Merengue to move in randomly and to find Marshal on an island rather quickly when I was just looking for anyone cool! Edit: In more of my experiments with this, one time I didn't have airplane mode on and got one of my friend's villagers the very next day, but the next time I had airplane mode on and no one moved in for two whole weeks.

I must have some insane luck. I’m seeing people saying that they’re spending hundreds of nook mile tickets to get the villager they want and I didn’t even know people would spend that much, I got lolly, punchy, zucker, and skye using 1 ticket for each and I don’t think I’d ever spend hundreds but, if you’re really wanting a certain villager then good luck!!

After watching this video, I was motivated to try and get Goldie. After a couple of days of trying, I went on a plane and arrived at the stranded island. Of course, I took the pretty flowers but then I spotted someone at the beach. I quickly ran there and saw Goldie. I was so happy I couldn’t stop taking screenshots! It was worth getting rid of a villager.

When there is a plot of land, it’s not the next day a random character moves in, it really is random I believe, I had a plot of land open for a week and then Raymond moved in

Just a fact. I just started animal crossing 3 weeks ago and immediately I got Judy, Zucker and Audie. I didn’t knew Zucker and Judy were that popular so I gave em away lmao (agreed to them moving/ and not getting them at the campsite) I just joined the fandom last week and that’s where I learned they are one of the most popular villagers. Pretty much stings now but I’m happy with my Sherb and Biskit

About finding villagers you may have not known about and end up loving... Yeah, that has happened to me, twice. Pecan one day appeared to my campsite and after they suggested one of my starters to move out (Sprocket) I invited her. I didn't care much for her at first because I knew she was snooty and I heard some people don't like them. Her design and colors were good, though, so I gave her a chance. I also didn't like her catchphrase, but fortunately Merengue fixed that and now she, too, is calling me Sweetie. Now I'm not sure I wanna ever let her go. She's just so precious. Same with Zell. First, I really liked his appearance, but didn't care for his attitude. But during the past week or so, I realized he's my 2nd favorite villager and I will never let him go! (The number 1 being Erik) I'm also starting to warm for Tybalt, although I still don't like his eyes too much. He looks like he's always angry. My lineup so far: Erik, Zell, Avery, Pecan, Merengue, Maple, Audie, Tybalt, Diva and Chops. Diva and especially Chops are on their way out of my precious island, the sooner the better. I don't have amiibo cards or anything, though, so it might still take a while. My wishlist includes Marshal, Static, Punchy, Apollo, Judy and Raymond, just to name a few.

Earlier I had 5 tickets for a small villager hunt, my main goal was to get Fauna. The first villager was Yuka, but I left her and tried to get better, then Monty, then Vladimir, then Purrl, I was about to take Purrl but still, tried to get better, I very highly doubted I would even get a decent villager on my last island. I walked off the dock, onto the grass, and I saw a brown ear, a brown head with tan spots, and a Fauna.

I kinda want Nintendo to add or give the player some sort of option to be able to go after a certain type of villager. Like, let's say you want Raymond or any cat villager. Nintendo could add more types of Nook Miles tickets like a ticket that increases the chance, or only gives cat villagers on islands, but the ticket could cost 6000 Nook Miles to make it feel like you have to achieve that villager rather than making it feel the same as getting any other villager(I bet that didn't make much sense). Another way could be the addition of villager rate increase items like getting the cat litter box and placing it down on your island increases the rate of cats in campsites or specific items that increase the chance of getting a specific villager. It wouldn't be like a rate increase that makes it impossible to get anyone else, but it would increase it enough like in a gatcha type game where you have more of a chance to get a specific character, but everyone else can still come. Aka this is me ranting about how I literally do not have Raymond yet and I want him so badly and I have wasted so many Nook Miles to try and get him.

I’d recommend using nookazon to buy the villagers you want, and if you have discord, you can go on nookazon villager trade to see who’s moving out from other peoples islands Edit: you use bells and nook miles tickets, not real money

Rhonda just moved out from my island (cri) so I’m using the ticket method. My whole family needs to say yes to the random villager to have them move in. I used that another time, I said no to a villager and went to another island, that’s how I got June! (It was the second island so I’m lucky I guess)

I really wanted Judy but I previously I thought the only way to find a villager is from a campsite or mystery island. So I thought I would need to farm a bunch of tickets. But RNGesus must have shined upon me because the next day after I invited Kyle from a mysterious island, I noticed another plot of land was sold. I check who bought it and it was Judy herself who was to move in the next day. I was surprised because I dont remember seeing her anywhere until I watched the first part of the video.

I'm desperately trying to get coco, Ankha and Raymond since me and my step mom have been TRYING to challenge each other to see who can get them first. And she hasn't gotten any and I have been grinding to try and get at LEAST ankha or raymond.

I just got my dreamies, Audie, Raymond and Agnes! You WILL find them! You don’t need to trade nmts to get your dreamies! Keep on farming nmts and checking your campsite, you can do it! Tip for getting nmts: Trade unwanted items for nmts on nookazon. It will help! Or just buy them on Etsy... That’s an option too. I don’t recommend it though.

I used the Nook mile ticket method and always had villagers that didnt really speak to me. After a sad day of no nice villagers, I woke up, looked who was moving in, and it said ‘ This spot is reserved for Raymond’s new home.’ And I was just like, ASDFGHDJRNICNEKEDDJED

I get so lucky on my campsite visitors since everyone who has been there is someone I really like. I got Goldie, Sherb, and Kyle just from it.
