The Osprey handle is only 82mm and the knob-handle length is 90mm which is pretty standard. We don't have current plans for a shorter handle, but it's always possible!

That’s interesting, I always look for longer handles. It’s one of the only thing I always hated about safety razors…I have good sized hands so maybe it’s just me but I never understood the small handle preference. It so uncomfortable for me

@@lukejodoin3449 if you hold the razor from right under tge bottom plate a long handle gets uncomfortable.

Do you have plans to develop a twist to open type razor in the future? It would be amazing! Thing is whatever twist to open razor is available in the market has parts which are made of stamped or casted metals which do not look good fit and finish wise and there is always some kind of blade exposure unevenness. Considering you make razors out of precision CNC process, it would result in a flawless tto razor which is precise, accurate and amazing looking. Thanks!

I like that the head is not as bulky other adjustable razors. Might be ready to buy. Will there be a polished version?

A polished version is likely in the future. We're experimenting with that finish now and working to perfect it. There is no ETA on a polished finish, but it's almost certain to come at some point.

You're most likely to find a Lite-like shave in range of Levels 3-5.

Well I caved and bought the Osprey. I just received it and it is indeed a beautiful machine. Numbers on setting wheel? OY. But a minor issue in view of the other mechanical components. I look forward to my first shave.

@@canchero724the need to loosen the handle, the sharpness of the handle cutouts and the visibility of the numbers were a big part but I started to notice I was getting several cuts and nicks from the razor all led me to return it.

Hi Shane, can you use a soft toothbrush brush for cleaning?

If it’s super soft, sure. It would be a good idea to test an inconspicuous spot like the underside of the top cap or stand. Then hold it to a bright light and turn. The part a lot to see if you can spot any micro-scratches or haziness.

That's the plan! We had to double stainless steel production which will take another few weeks. Then we move on to titanium.

I just got my Osprey. I've looked at most of your videos/pics but haven't seen a clear pic of the top cap. My cap had sort of a ridge in the middle. Is that nornal?

A ridge? It's hard to say with 100% certainly what you're referring to, but I bet it's the machine line stripe on the top. It's not a ridge and is part of the machine pattern. If that's not what you're referring to, please email support@blacklandrazors.com and we'll help you out!

I notice the Osprey is made of 303 stainless steel which can be susceptible to pitting. With its intricacy should this be a concern? Do I just wait for a Ti version🤷🏼‍♂️ or a 316 marine grade stainless version🤷🏼‍♂️?

303 is perfectly suited for the application as razors are not exposed to highly corrosive environments. We’ve also tested extensively and have not seen any issues with the metal. Plus, we’ve been making 303 razors for eight years! No need to worry. 🙂

I think the initial price was supposed to be around $300 or at least that's what I've heard, but they've decided to bump it a bit more. I'm still probably going to buy it, but I still wish it was a bit cheaper.

I really want the Osprey. It looks great. And I’m sure I’d love using it (7-9, I reckon) The price is daunting. It’s the only reason I haven’t already ordered for it. If it was $250-$275, I’d go for it, in a hot second. I still may buy it. Very hard to resist. Btw, I’ve been savoring my Blackbird, Era, Dart and Sabre razors for the past two years. Too bad, I missed out on the Tradere. Now, the Osprey beckons. 🙂

The price is set by the manufacturer/seller; there might be some variance depending of market response..... Now try and tell Ellon what you want to pay for a Tesla....

@@talega1 Suggested pricing is made but not set by the manufacturers, especially if they're outsourced. And I'm not sure how you came up with a comparison of Tesla to a razor, but I'll take a fossil fuel vehicle everytime!

It's not a typical razor. And he's not explaining. He's talking about features and sharing tips and insights. This has exactly what we need. The actual designer talking to us as opposed to some good looking promotional model. Those large corporation producers don't bother to get personal with their customers. You get the item and maybe a booklets that's primarily to save them from any legal issues.
