Just when I thought I had my Razor Acquisition Disorder under control, you guys just had to go and drop a new Sabre 😄 It looks wonderful, great job to you and your team! Looking forward to the preorder.
The new/final handle design is elegant and perfectly matches the styling of the head. I am so impressed when an owner/designer pays attention to their customer base. As a creative person myself, I find this extremely difficult to do. Congrats!. You have a lovely new product, and I am anxious to place my order.
Thank you for your support! Sometimes the crowd knows better than the designers do. It's nice that we have a loyal following who knows our products so well and can help us get back on the right path.
I was one of the V1 handle feedbackers and now gladly tip my hat to you, Shane. Genuinely impressed that you listened and reacted to our comments lightning fast. Wow! You Rocked the tweaks. Thank you for your commitment to creating superb shave tools. I look forward to further announcements 👍🏼
Excellent final changes, the razor looks great. I love that you acted on the feedback that was collected. In case that you need someone to do a review - I'll be happy to help 😅
Unless you damage the safety bar itself, a drop won't change the alignment as alignment is set with multiple tight-tolerance alignment features. The safety bar could be damaged, but that's true of any razor.
Thanks for the up-date!! It looks great! I'll be happy to review it for you!! You have my address... (However, super annnoying that the price-frame is not revealed!!)
Great idea on removing the buttresses for lather flow. I love the handle, it’s such a cleaner profile. Now was the model in the video SS or Titanium? I’m guessing it’s SS because you said titanium is coming later on.
handle looks much better know. great work. honestly i don't know if i'd ever buy another razor since the blackbird cured my RAD, but if i ever succumb to it again, the saber mk2 will definitely be on the short list.
Looking forward to trying this out. I have one version or other of all your razors and NONE have been a disappointment. One question I have that may have been answered elsewhere is the safety bar on the titanium version. Will safety bar be the magnetic stainless steel or have you worked out another solution so the entire razor is titanium? Thanks (one more thought, my Vector handle fits my current Sabre and should fit the new Sabre as well?)
Thank you for your support! The safety bars will remain 17-4 stainless on the titanium version to retain the magnetic functionality. The Vector handle definitely fits on the new Sabre and it looks pretty great, too!
What's the weight of the finished version in grams compared to the previous version with the original baseplate and handle? Thanks. New handle looks great!!!
@@blacklandrazorsno I meant the previous new version. Is there any significant weight difference with the slimmer handle and thinned out baseplate? 1 or 2 grams or less?
I fully appreciate the work and effort that goes into the making of these razors, but I can't help thinking you've left something behind with this razor. I think in chasing perfection by following the opinions of the many, you've crossed over the tipping point between form and function. I believe the first Sabre was effectively equidistant between the two and as such fulfilled the brief of style, substance and uniqueness perfectly. Now, to me, this new model sacrifices the minimalist beauty of YOUR original...for the highly subjective functional complaints of THEM. It looks nice, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't look great. It looks like it's heading for genericism. I guess I'm just the embodiment of not being able to please all the people all the time. But hey, if you didn't take critical feedback, then this version of the razor would never have been made in the first place, am I right?
Thanks for the feedback! To be clear, the only piece of this design that came as a result of feedback is the slight change we made to the handle profile. Everything else comes 100% from us. Nobody asked for an adjustable Sabre. Nobody asked for lighter weight and a sleeker head. These were done to continue our internal pursuit of excellence and of boundary-pushing in shave gear. I can certainly appreciate that someone would prefer the original Sabre, but I would push back on the premise that this design was driven by some generic people-pleasing, mass appeal pursuit. That's never been our style.
