At historically black colleges and universities, drum majors are like rock stars.Jackson State University in Mississippi has several of these rocks stars on its marching band. Jackson State has one of the most prestigious HBCU (historically black college/university) marching bands in the country. It's called the "Sonic Boom of the South."
