i’ve tried so many times to do this mission and i’ve failed everytime.. pls can u help me i have the fish i just don’t have anyone to help me do this mission
Or casual players. I have mods, been playing since D1 own all content and have 90% of exotics for my main class. This timed mission is tough. Trying to stay alive, find and kill the minotaurs, and then race back to the tormentor that wants to keep jumping on people is not easy. I hate timed missions w/ a passion. Also 10 mins instead of the normal 20 or even 15 is some bullshit.
@@Blackronin357100% agree with you. This is clearly made for custom fireteams with optimal loadouts divinity and well and all that crap. Solo players that run this crap with matchmaking people are in for a huge task. It's Bungie at It's best. Also, the creativity behind the choice of a tormentor for the final boss is mindblowing.
@@beardymcbeardface69 It WAS hard to get, when the boss was still glitching out and the raid was new. You can basicly pick it up for free now, 1600 raid with 1820+ is easy
My first time running this was a nightmare. The pyramid section was so dark, I kept getting lost and losing my teammates. When I did try and find them, every corner seemed like the Tormentor was there. So as a result, we ran out of time...back to orbit we went. All the videos I've seen, make it look easier, when it's not. I'm frustrated at this point. I'll try a catch your streams to see if I can get some help.
My teammate got booped by the tormentor into the black goop and died, i tried reviving him but then got insta killed by the tormentor... He kept dying when revived and then I got insta killed
The debuff from the orbs that are generated by Ruinous Effigy stacks on top of Divinity. The drawback is that leaves only 1 person doing dps for a brief time
My friend and I usually duo content in the game but I don’t think we will be able to deal with this exotic quest which sort of sucks…. we can’t exactly 2-man raids or anything so neither of us have Div. I’ll probably just wait to buy it from the exotic kiosk when it drops next year because yeesh this sounds like a chore for an “okay” exotic weapon that is only want for lore reasons. Still sucks though. It’s always a goal to get the seasonal exotic for me but sometimes due to how they do these quests we just can’t do it. I wish they’d scale things a bit more and wouldn’t make it so absolutely necessary to have stuff like raid weapons just to get through encounters like this. It’s just frustrating for those of us without a dedicated group of friends who play and who are too shy to use things like LFG >_> oh well. Maybe I’ll get lucky with a random deep dive group.
Divinity stock value went up today that’s for sure… I’ve been trying to find an LFG all day to see if I can snatch div just for this one exotic mission 😂
I feel you man I literally have to beg people to do a GM, legendary campaign. I have the Nord/Malfeasance/Gallahorn quest sitting waiting to luck into a group to finish.
I actually got mine finished with random players. Since one of my teammates had divinity and a well, I was able to make full use of my Leviathan’s breath. I’m sure there are better heavy weapons out there, but this one has been my favorite since it knocks combatants backwards.
The major flaw with this exotic mission, is that Div is almost necessary. The tormentor crit spots are not okay. Cleared with buddies three times last night, and it wasn't great.
It appears that there may be a significant portion of individuals who struggle with precise targeting. We were able to effortlessly defeat the boss in question by utilizing a tether hunter strategy; interestingly, our performance worsened when the divinity was brought into play. Hence, if we have team members who possess exceptional marksmanship skills, it is more advantageous to allocate three individuals solely towards delivering high damage output.
I honestly don’t think it’s best to put a secret mission in a deep dive mission because what if someone doesn’t want to do the mission, now they’re forced to because one other player has the broken blades. Now there’s pressure on the person with out the blades.
@@G_F1 If you dont do it then your team leaves and now you cant do deep dive. Which can be a problem as farming deep dive seems to be the way to get catalyst.
It’s also bogus you can’t have a person rejoin or have someone join in progress, along with no radar, and slowing/freezing melee, on a F’ing timed mission.🙄
@@zedhiro6131 Honestly it's not worth it because it's not really that good. I've been hearing mixed things about pvp on how it 3 taps people and freezes/slows them. I'm not a pvp player and I don't intend to play pvp till the day I die.
If you Back out of the mission do you get your worms back? Also if You dont beat the last part in time do you restart the whole mission or just that part?
God matchmaking was a nightmare but i finally got it on warlock using well luna boots div, aurvandil with chill and recon, and commemoration with ram n recon
I beat this with two warlocks and an invis hunter, which was Invaluable. This was harder than a raid or dungeon for SURE and took us about 5 times to clear it, cause we are pretty decent players, and each time we got closer and closer to the kill. It is IMPERITIVE that the invis hunter(or best player) go right on his own to clear any mina's, the other two locks go left and all of you go down the lanes parallel to each other ALL the way to the END to then meet back up in the middle!!! THIS was the reason we cleared it with time to spare and the reason we failed before was b/c we all went together left, which took us too long for a DPS phase. Split like that every Mina's phase and you'll end up killing the boss with very good time. Remember that the Mina's will spawn in the middle of the room when boss is low and Void dmg Resist, Arc dmg resist, and Concussive AOE Dmg Resist are ur best friends. As the div user make sure you switch to triple Arc reserve chest piece BEFORE you hit the flag then switch to ur main chest piece afterward again. With my FULL SUPPORT warlock, i could never die. P.S One of my teammates swears by Malfeasence but i dont know how much I believe it - says with Div it was doing 29K per crit. the other hunter was running double special, i think Izu and Tar lock LMG. Also i was running Div, Rufus's fury crafted, and ARC Tar Lock LMG - Solar going FULL support healing nades and radiant build(which i when i played in PvP is actually pretty amazing with a solar weap, i was radiant all the damn time with solar kills). I cant tell you how many times i saved everyone, healing nades and healing rifts which give me more ability energy to spam them, especially when my teammates are smart enough to use them constantly. Dropping a healing nade before he dives for everyone is SO good and KILL the adds in the middle room when its time for damage or they WILL F U up, all that little dmg will mount up to a lot/shield bash you when ur low to kill you. P.S.S. Instead of 2 locks, i would have loved to bring a titan/Solar lock/Invis hunter - for barricades-tether/div/well combo - and Invis will save ur team may times over. The most Important tip: COMMUNICATION!!
This is one way of fighting the boss; however it is not the only way. Another way is to lure it to one of the doors which it cannot go through as it is too tall where you can DPS thus it cannot stomp and wipe whatever super you are using.
Div is almost a must. Got the scout, it feels good gunplay-wise but, I honestly can’t see a use for it. It’s about as amazing as Polaris Lance in its legendary form(RWP MkII)

Pfft. Spent 1yr trying to get that gun. Still have yet to have it drop! I've got more hours playing this game then most of the youtubers on here, not that I'm any good, I'm not and I suck, bust still.
These exotic missions have gotten way to difficult imo. I'm a solo casual player and am starting to get turned off of Destiny with the difficulty increase the last few months. Presage, Vex Obscura, and Seraph Shield exotic missions were in a good place, difficulty wise. Avalon is insane on legend and now this. These exotic missions are becoming out of reach for me. Especially the catalysts.
I'd rather solo instead of depending on other members. For instance, there are people who leave the fire team because nobody has divinity weapon. Ridiculous.
You probably got it already then an didnt notice i got my two pieces an didn't know i had the 3rd. Also if you still dont have them i gotchu i just got all 3 today
I still don't have this unfortunately because doing it with randoms is so insanely frustrating. I'm trying to learn more about raids so o can get that op tracerifle.
Tried with experience fireteam and the tormentor just hunted us down and killed us or knocked us out of the bubble. Ads were destroying us for some reason tonight. It seems harder tonight than the other night. Running TL and Div but it was not possible tonight after 10 tries.
you know i think they thought they’d have the new in game lfg all ready to go this season given the deep dive design. btw who gave the tormentor pre nerf stompies 🤪🤣
Check your fishing tackle in the inventory menu and it should tell you which broken blades you have claimed (you get each piece from the planet exclusive exotic fish)
I beat this twice through matchmaking. We had no div or tractor. If you find yourself in the same boat just rock arbalest, an LMG or second LFR and an ikelos SMG. That set up did me just fine and for 2 runs with 0 communication it put in the work to bring the boss down. Best of luck to those still running for the scout. :)
I got all 3 blades today after not doing any fishing for 3 weeks. I got an exotic at each one after only 20-30min at each and went through about 150 bait in total. Take advantage of the activity increased on all 3 at once while it's up.
I've tried it all. I have been on teams with div and it does nothing even with a thunderlord. I've tried retrofit, same it does nothing. Well is completely useless if I'm knocked across the room.
We just got the scout after a few tries.. If i wouldve known that the gun is highly underwhelming.. I wouldve never done this quest.. It'll be just another gun gathering dust in my vault.
This ish so frustrating, lost count of how many times I've attempted this and always run outta time when hes so close to death, not to mention questionable tactics from randoms. Had a guy running div all the way through until the boss and then switched to thunderlord, made absolutely no sense to me. Just have to persevere but I seriously doubt I'll ever get it at this point 😢
@MacticsG1 are you going to be doing a Cenotaph Mask/Well of Radiance build any time soon? No real love for Solar in the artifact this season though...
How do I get it with a raid weapon and without 1 specific heavy, the retrofit escapade. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY on youtube has provided this answer at all. One of my close friends had divinity and that's the only reason I have it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have the gun.
This catalyst is making me insane. Not only is T7 really hard, but I keep getting the most idiotic of kinderguardians on my team. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
that’s the one thing that pisses me off with destiny content creators. they think it’s ready because they gave you the build when certain items are quest locked behind raids.
My biggest issue with this is that the stupid timer begins with the previous boss. Why bungie? WTF And some of us casual players don’t have divinity. It’s a freaking struggle to play this game that was originally supposed to be doable solo. I just want to enjoy the game not curse at stupid bungie ideas like 10 min while chasing down two bosses and multiple Minotaurs

Just want to point out that the Taipan linear fusion is also a great dmg weapon. I was doing 90k a hit and with well of radiance 123k. Also I personally found the easiest way to do. This was during a damage face. You go back to the entrance to the main area where the orange barrier is. He has a very difficult time coming to you, so if you don’t have a warlock, you could stand in that area and damage him with very little issues. If he does manage to make it too close to you then you could easily duck down underneath one of the side areas and he’ll back up and then you go out and continue damaging
Has anyone not named salt actually successfully beaten this tormentor without div? Cause I’m pretty sure it’s literally impossible without it. I had one team that was running essentially perfect dps minus div and we still had a quarter Health left when we ran out of time
We just did with 3 minutes left. I'm running forerunner + taipan, one is running legendary machine gun + trace rifle, another one with sword. Popping a well in the corridor helps because you can all just stand there and shoot the chest and basically ignore his attacks and you can't be pushed too far because there's literally walls around you and this way the tormentor always face all of you.
One of my attempts with a random team was without div, we got him to like 1 hp while being pretty disorganized, and the timer run out and we lost, so i guess it's doable
It's worth noting that I have frequently completed runs with random matchmaking groups without utilizing divinity. In some instances, I have even successfully completed the activity on my own or with the assistance of friends to support the random players. Utilizing tether or tractor cannon can be helpful, and as long as you possess good aim and are able to hit the chest consistently, you should be able to successfully complete the activity.
@@jayfe86 nothing Crazy, 100 res and 100 discipline arc warlock w/ sunstar chaos reach, just as i was in Deep dive. You only need to be fast to get the buffs
