Note for future viewers: Shooting the cave boss will now not explode the bomb drops he has, and you can kill him with the shotgun without having to use the throwables. They added invincibility frames for when enemies drop items now, this prevents the bomb bag dropped by him from immediately being hit by a shotgun pellet and exploding.

I love how complicated it is and I wouldn't want it any other way. I originally didn't want any spoilers but finding this stuff out by yourself would take forever and it's already hard enough when you know every step

I'm pretty sure they changed it so that Olmec will only shoot out bombs 3 times before he just hovers there, and breaking his hover pads will reset the counter.

Imagine dodging stupid lizards and carnivorous molerats, climbing through a literal volcano, destroying a multiple thousand ton block of gold with it's own mind and alien tech weapons to it's disposal, juking multiple crush traps, killing Dracula and dozens of angry shopkeepers, avoiding a massive destructive snake and other ravenous monsters and fighting the god of the underworld and his two most loyal servants just to then die to a tick of poison.

you can ista kill vlad by helping a guy, you just need to get a key from one of the secret passages in the volcano levels and then find the door in the same level, once you do u will see the vampire hunter inside and he will thank you, now when you go to fight vlad the vampire hunter will insta kill him with a crossbow

Fun fact: shooting quill back on 1-4 two times will kill him but if you shoot him a third time the bomb bag he drops will explode and that is what causes the explosion.

For those that don't know, you need an Ankh to sacrifice yourself, I just died and sacrificed myself and it took me to the death screen because the creator didn't make it too clear that you required an Ankh. No hate btw i love this guy.

btw, shooting the mole boss too much doesn't make it explode. It is if you kill it then shoot again you will shoot the bomb bag then it explodes, so that means you can kill it with the shotgun and not throughables.

Some Notes I would make about the route: 1) I would not recommend killing the shopkeeper if possible, he can be a huge pain in the ass to deal with -instead if you want something from the shop, hit him with your ropes and immediately run away, you can then be forgiven as long as you beat the next stage without actively killing him, hitting with his rope will also make him drop his shotgun for you to quickly pick up, however I would not recommend as it can be risky if you accidentally pick up the shop keeper and 2) you dont need a shotgun for olmec, he has been patched so he only shoots bombs 3 times. The easier way is to use vlads cape or spring shoes to make a 2-olmec-wide shaft. -jump up to olmec, and using the back and front of your whip, you can run straight past olmec, hitting both hover pad things at once, making him fall behind you. When he floats towards you he will only be 1 tile above you so you dont need to jump. Instead, when his middle is about to pass the ledge, run past and whip both the hover pads again. Then repeat these steps all the way down the shaft. -IF you dont have vlads cape or spring shoes, you can instead make olmec land on the push block to the left first, this will offset his height so that he is always 2 tiles above you. (i wouldnt recommend this strat if you do have mobility, since it makes phase 3 slightly harder) -Phase 3 is like Phase 1 except every 2 stomps he will shoot out some aliens you should probably kill first. If you are confident in your abilities, you can kite him a little so one side is always against a wall so they instantly blow up -Another strategy is to use 3-4 bombs on olmec skip (search olmec skip on youtube) 3) An easier way to get vlads cape is to free van horsing from the cage in 2-1, he will then immediately shoot vlad when you get there (dont get hit by the falling cape btw), but in the very small chance he misses his shot, you can still throw his arrow to kill vlad, saving bombs and being much easier than trying to cook them. -If youre having trouble freeing van horsing because of where the key spawns, you could try bringing one with you by delivering the turkeys to yang and taking his key with you. 4) if you dont have paste or a good weapon, finding and throwing the ghost pot at him is a good strategy to easily kill anubis. -I would refrain from trying to insta-kill him with the moving blocks since they have a tendency to destroy the sceptre with him

If you want to know what happens after you fight osiris i and a friend played togheter and he was a ghost and he froze osiris and he was 1 hit killed anyway after that there is a cool portal and when you go in that portal you get teleported to the ice world and you lose all your items but you keep the money

I understand! the Ocean level is the boss. You do not need to run to the levels as everyone does, but try to kill him!!! Try throwing bombs or an ice cannon or maybe an eggplant at it.

well hot damn, that's how the volcano route works, huh? i've been running the jungle route this whole time just because that was what was familiar to me. Maybe if I try volcano next time i won't have to worry so much about finding the black market and saving money for that other crown.

you don't have to go volcana, you can also go to the black market in the jungle

you don't need to use the drill to get the crown you can use bombs, pickaxe or even the crushing ball

I jump and then shoot quill back so when the bombs drop my bullets aren’t close enough to the ground to hit the bomb bag.

It explodes because your shotgun shoots the bomb bag, so if you shoot at the peak of your jump, you should not explode it

Made it to the temple and got to the city of gold for the first time only for Au to aggro one of the teleporting guys which killed me and wasted my ankh. Very cool

Do both crowns serve the same purpose? I was thinking only the hedjet would open the city of gold. Or are the hell-like levels after tiamet determined by which crown you have?

This is actually a part of an even more complicated secret world, *spoilers* Once you kill Osiris he drops a stone tablet which describes a special type of vase in a sub area in neo Babylon, in this neo-babylon sub area there are hundreds of vases but only one is correct, an example of one of these descriptions could be something like "a cracked vase made of clay, depicting an image of the Pharoah" once you find a vase matching this description you have to bring it to the next floor and a mount will pop out of it with the ability to fly indefinitely, once you get this mount go all the way to tiamat and fly up through alternating lasers until you reach the top, go through the door and you have reached the sunken city, or you could skip all these steps and just use a jetpack and a full well timed ropes to reach the top, however this is also just part of a larger quest to reach a secret floor, the cosmic ocean is next, to reach the cosmic ocean you need to complete the moon challenge and get the bow hidden near the bottom, you need to also complete the sun challenge in the sunken city, the sun challenge is basically a room full of enemies that you just need to survive in. Once you do this you will obtain the arrow of light, using the bow and arrow together you need to defeat Hundun (final boss of the sunken city) and shoot the arrow into hundun's eye, once done it will open a portal to the cosmic ocean. The cosmic ocean is 99 levels long so good luck.

This isn't meant as criticism, you're much better at the game than me, haha. Just some choices I'm wondering about. Why didn't you want the 1-4 boss to explode? I usually use him to blow a passage down to the Volcana entrance. Also with 31 bombs I would usually just bomb down instead of using the drill, especially if there's lava. And why did you skip Van Horsing? You killed Vlad quickly enough but the quick detour for Van Horsing seems much easier and faster

I was in the golden City and Had the ankh and sacrificed myself, but i didn't get zu Duat. Maybe it was because i was cursed but i Don't know why the devs would do Something Like that

I had the perfect run and as i got to the altar a leprechaun pickpocketed a bomb from me and blew up the altar so i couldnt sac myself. I hate derek yu lol

Alright, i think they have overdone it with the insane difficulty and all the crypric stuff with Spelunky 2. I was very excited when it first got released but this is not fun to play. Notice how much fast forwarding this video has.That's because the while process of acconplishing anything in this game is so tedious.
